A wonderful read!
This novel drew me in from the very first page and kept me hooked until the end. The characters were vibrant and relatable, the writing was engaging, and the story had just the right balance of heart and humor. Highly recommend!

"Love Blooms at Hollyhock Farm" by Georgina Troy. What can I say other than I enjoyed it and read in one day. Who doesn’t want to escape to a small farm on an island in the English Channel…

The setting of a small farm on the Island of Jersey sounded breathtaking. It had everything you could want in a story love, family, community and second chances.

I found the characters to be well developed, and multi-dimensional. You have Skye looking for her father and then fireman Joe who all wanted to help Lettie with the farm while her parents were away. The story was told from Skye’s perspective as well as Joe’s .

I will definitely read other books by this author.

I requested and received an advance reader copy of this book from Boldwood Books and Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is Book 3 of the Hollyhock Farm series and in this book, we follow Skye and Joe, who are thrown together in this book and who both have very intriguing, separate sub-stories

I loved Skye and could relate to her. The story surrounding her unknown father was touching and helped to really understand her as a character.

Joe was maybe too nice to begin with, but he got better as the story went along, with his niceness! His story, I suppose, looked a bit at boundaries and the likes, so this character development was equalling as intriguing.

I loved the backdrop with this book, being on a farm on an island as while the loves of the characters may be a little in turmoil but the free landscape really isn't that!

It's a lovely story and a series that I will look forward to backbreaking Book 1 and 2, though I had no issues with understanding what was happening in this book so it would work as a standalone too!

It's a lovely heart-warming book, with a beautiful cover!

Having read and enjoyed secretarial of Troy's books over time, I knew I wouldn't be disappointed by Love Blooms.

A return visit to a favourite bookish location is always welcome and it's lovely to catch up with familiar faces. Honestly, it's like catching up with friends.

Joe and Skye the farms new 'helping hands' were a great addition to the already colourful cast of characters and to see their friendship bloom and then a relationship begin to flourish was lovely.

It's a heartwarming, feel-good read and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute!

If you're looking for a feel-good heartwarming series, you need to look no further than the Hollyhock Farm series.
I've read all of the books in this series and other books by the author, and they never fail to make me smile and are the perfect relaxation read.
Taking place on the island of Jersey, the descriptions have me ready to visit and just kick off my shoes.
Once again, we see the inclusion of characters from other books in this series, and this always enriches the story.
This is Skye and Joe's story, they've both ended up at Hollyhock Farm for a different reason and their first meeting wasn't the greatest, but this doesn't last once they start to get to know each other.
Skye has always had a supportive granny in her life after her mother passed away when she was a young teen, but she needs some answers about an important issue she's been dwelling on.
I enjoyed seeing how supportive Joe is in her quest for answers and also enjoyed seeing the fun and supportive interaction between the other characters. I'm always up for reading a wonderful book by the author.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book.

A sweet and simple story about two good people falling in love at a cozy place called Hollyhock Farm on a charming island. The island is described beautifully and the characters very likeable. The story is sweet but it could have done well with both main characters getting some more time with each other.

Love Blooms at Hollyhock Farm swept me away to a picturesque countryside haven where Emma, a city girl with a green thumb, reluctantly inherits her estranged grandmother's flower farm. Between nosy (but lovable) neighbors, learning to milk an ornery goat, and the unexpected charm of Alex—the grumpy-but-gorgeous local botanist—Emma discovers that sometimes roots can grow where we least expect.
If books were hugs, Love Blooms at Hollyhock Farm would be the kind that comes with a warm cup of tea. The characters feel wonderfully real, from Emma's determined (yet adorably clumsy) efforts to revive the farm, to Alex’s enigmatic mix of snark and hidden vulnerability. The supporting cast—quirky neighbors, a mischievous cat, and an elderly matchmaker—adds layers of charm and heart.
I was very envious of Emma as I love gardening and would be very happy to inherit a flower farm. This is a book to make you dream of a different life and living into a sea of colours and perfumes.
This story is as much about finding love as it is about finding yourself. It’s a delightfully cozy read that'll leave you cheering for its richly fleshed-out characters and believing in the magic of second chances. Perfect for curling up on a rainy day.

Wish You Were Here resonated with me on so many levels, I didn't expect it because our heroine is a lot older than me (sorry Deedee, I'm just jealous of your sparkling life) but we still have a lot in common.

We both are travel agents and a travel agency's owners, we share the same fears for our jobs, besides, we have our big birthdays coming. I'm glad for every year that I spend being healthy and alive, but still, with the big four zero approaching I started thinking about the past and the future.

Deedee used to live her life to the fullest, but since the death of her husband she became more cautious, thoughtful and less carefree. Still, she plans to celebrate her seventy birthday in New York with her old and new friends, trying to not miss her Joe too much and to ruin the experience to everyone.

"We don't move on, we move forward!"

I absolutely adored Deedee as well as her diverse group of friends.
She felt understandably lost, but she didn't give up and, putting one foot in front of the other, she still keep going toward the future. I'm glad that her friends were there to help with her grief, reminding her how strong and lively she is.

I loved that this story was well written, relatable, and with unforgettable characters.
It's the first time I've read an Alex Brown work, but it won't be the last.

Book Review: Love Blooms at Hollyhock Farm by Georgina Troy
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)

Georgina Troy delivers another sun-soaked, heartwarming romance in Love Blooms at Hollyhock Farm—a story brimming with charm, chemistry, and the irresistible promise of new beginnings.

Set on the idyllic island of Jersey, this delightful read welcomes us back to Hollyhock Farm, where spring has arrived and change is in the air. With Lettie preparing to step back from the farm due to her pregnancy, help arrives in the form of two unexpected—but totally welcome—housemates: Joe, a down-to-earth firefighter escaping family chaos, and Skye, a free-spirited newcomer eager to try something new.

What unfolds is a delicious slow-burn enemies-to-lovers romance, where tension, misunderstandings, and blossoming feelings are as much a part of farm life as the blooming hollyhocks. Troy strikes the perfect balance between cozy escapism and heartfelt emotion. Joe and Skye’s dynamic is full of spark and sass, but it’s the tender moments, growing trust, and gentle emotional growth that truly steal the show.

Troy’s writing is wonderfully evocative—Jersey comes alive on the page with its lush landscapes, coastal charm, and welcoming community. The supporting cast adds depth and humor, making this feel like a place you'd love to visit, or better yet, never leave.

Verdict: Love Blooms at Hollyhock Farm is a sweet and uplifting romance that’s as refreshing as a spring breeze. Perfect for fans of Rachael Lucas and Phillipa Ashley, it's a feel-good story about second chances, unexpected friendships, and finding love in the most surprising places.

This was a sweet and lovely romance with a lot of depth within. The themes of family history and imperfect family members really made it all the more gripping and it was nice to see it all unravel.

Sweet and Thoughtful

This is a sweet but thoughtful romance set on the island of Jersey. It is the third book in a series but it is very readable as a stand alone. I found it soothing and quietly thought provoking with themes of family history and life with imperfect family members. Of course, there is the almost enemies to friends to beyond element too. Highly recommended for troubled time.

Thank you to the publisher who lent me a time-constrained e-arc via Netgalley with no obligation. This review is optional and my own opinion.

When Lettie steps back from farm life during her pregnancy, Joe and Skye both arrive unexpectedly to help—and although they get off to a rocky start, what follows is a slow-build story about connection, second chances, and community. While some elements are a bit predictable (yes, there’s definitely a “boy meets girl” vibe), the richness of the side stories and the character development kept things engaging and fresh. I especially loved how vividly the author painted the setting—it truly felt like I was walking the fields, seeing the island, and experiencing the peaceful pace of farm life right alongside the characters. A lovely, uplifting read that leaves your heart a little fuller.

Love Blooms at Hollyhock Farm is the newest installment in the Hollyhock Farm series by Georgina Troy.

This tale revolves around Joe and Skye. Joe is seeking a place to stay away from his mother, while Skye has come to the island during her travels. They both agree to care for the farm while Lettie goes to the hospital to give birth. Can they collaborate effectively, or will they end up driving each other crazy?

Georgina has crafted relatable characters who are essential to the narrative, and the setting is simply breathtaking – these books have made me yearn to visit the Channel Islands.

I eagerly anticipate the next book in the series. Note: While this book can be enjoyed on its own, skipping the earlier installments means you might miss out on some wonderful stories!

Blurb

After an amazing year looking after Hollyhock Farm, on the beautiful island of Jersey, pregnant Lettie needs to step back from farming. The problem is, with her family overseas, there’s no one to take over.

But then help comes from two places at once. Handsome fire-fighter Joe needs to escape his small home since his mother and her new husband came to stay; he offers to help run the farm in exchange for board in one of the spare rooms. Then, adventurous newcomer Skye takes the other room, excited to try her hand at farming in such an amazing place.

But managing the farm together may be more than either of them bargained for, especially as each of them drives the other crazy, in more ways than one. Will the tension get too much for Joe and Skye, or could love bloom with the Jersey flowers this spring?

My Opinion

Love Blooms at Hollyhock Farm was such a lovely read and it was so nice to be back with some familiar characters. Joe and Skye don’t get off to a great start, but they really need to work together to help out Lettie and Brodie. Georgina Troy has packed a lot into this book. A great addition to the series.

Skye Sellers, 25, is visiting the Island of Jersey hoping to find her birth father. Her mother recently passed away. The woman had a job on Jersey and became pregnant while there. She never said who Skye’s father was but she did leave a diary behind.

Joe Marett, 30, is a fireman on the Island and lives in a house left to him by his grandfather. Unfortunately, his mother has come to town with yet another husband in tow and expects to take over Joe’s home.

Brodie is the local vet and his fiancee, Lettie is 7 months pregnant. She runs Hollyhock Farm. However, as her parents are on vacation again, Lettie finds she needs help on the farm as she is having complications with her pregnancy. Joe decides to take some vacation time off from his job to help Lettie and to get away from his mother. Skye learns from a friend that she can stay at Hollyhock Farm to help Lettie. The farm is well-known for its colorful hollyhocks and flavorful potatoes.

So, Joe and Skye settle into Hollyhock Farm and learn how to take care of the animals and the different plants. But there is also time to learn about the island. In addition, after some research, it turns out that Skye’s father still lives on the island. He is thrilled to meet her and she finds she has three stepbrothers.

Joe and Skye spend comfortable evenings together and soon spark an attraction to one another. When Lettie and Brodie return to the farm, Joe and Skye realize they need to leave, but where will they go?

This is a cute book that once again shows readers the beauty of Jersey Island and the friendship-to-love that blooms between two people. I look forward to more books about this area by the author.

It's another good story in this heartwarming series set in Jersey. This one features Joe, the firefighter and Skye, looking for family. It's an emotional and uplifting tale with gentle romance and humour. It explores the enemies-to-lovers and forced proximity tropes in an engaging way. I like the characters, the emotion and the lovely Jersey setting.

Thank you netgalley & publishers for allowing me to read a copy of this book in exchange of my review. This was a really an enjoyable, feel good delightful read. After a slight miscommunication between Lettie and her partner as to who is going to step in to help look after the farm due to Lettie being heavily pregnant & needed to take time out, two people, who very much need a place to stay are left wondering which of them will get to stay at the farm. A thoroughly enjoyable page turner.
