oh wow. i was in to this book from the very first page, sentence even. when i read the blurb i new i wanted to read this book as soon as i could. and the start of a new series gives us great promise for the future. i dont know how Carolyn will beat this one though. because wowzas...
this series is the start of Sandra Vos. and we are already getting into the characters from book one. Carolyn writes them with such smart descriptions and i can picture both people and emotions going on.
Special Agent Sandra Vos deeply involves us into her world and life. and this one couldnt be closer to start us off. Sandra is one of the best negotiators out there.
but out on a job and trying to save someone else life from a hostage taker she gets the news that her own daughter has been taken. not only that but there is a time limit of when she can see her daughter back alive. what will she do? how will she do it? and what is she willing to do above all else to save her daughter life. her whole career mean negotiating and trying not to give into the hostages demands. but this is her daughter there are no rules. she will have to work fast. but at the same time she has to think about who could do such a thing to them and why? is it someone current or someone from her past? dive in right now and find out readers! this book was one of the best thrillers ive read in a while. i cant wait for more from this series.

There was a lot going on in this book. A dramatic hostage situation and the kidnapping of an FBI hostage negotiator's daughter make this an action packed, fast paced read that is brimming with tension.

This is my first book by Carolyn Arnold and her books have awesome reviews, so I was really pleased to be able to get in at the start of this new series, featuring Sandra Vos, FBI negotiator and mum to Olivia.

As well as a ton of action and a great plot, there is excellent character development in the book, As well as Sandra and Olivia, Sandra's team and her partner, Eric, who is a cop, have a great introduction. I liked the balance that Sandra and Eric have and the space they give each other, while caring deeply and supporting each other. Part of the plot, a probation hearing, relates to the convicted killer of Sandra's twin brother, Sam, when they were teenagers and this also contributes to the back story and world building of the characters involved, setting solid foundations for what I hope will be a long-running series - I am a big fan of hostage negotiation plots!

I read other series book from this author so when I saw this book in a new series I had to read it. It certainly didn't disappoint. I read it in 2 days it was that good. Plenty of action and suspense throughout. Looking forward to book number 2 in this new series.

I could not put this book down from the time I started reading till I finished it. Save Her Life is a new series from the wonderful Carolyn Arnold. I have read every book in her Amanda Steele series and loved them all, can’t wait for the second book in this new series to come out. Thanks to Bookouture and Netgalley for the arc.

Wow!!! I looooved Save Her Life by Carolyn Arnold. I literally read it in one sitting….I could not put it down!

I really enjoyed Arnold’s writing style, and she sucked me in from the very first page. The action was perfect…clues to what was happening were given in the perfect amount as the story progressed. I felt like I was reading an episode of Criminal Minds lol. (I love that show, so I mean it as a high compliment!!) FBI agent Sandra Vos was a very likeable character. I quickly felt empathy because of her backstory of how she lost her twin brother and how it caused her to get into the field. She has moxie, intelligence and a no nonsense attitude, while still seeming kind and approachable.
I also really liked her relationships with her daughter and adopted mom.

The plot of the investigation was really well done, managing to intertwine Sandra’s history with her current life in a way that was seamless and didn’t feel forced or contrived. Everything fit together and made sense.

Honestly, I’m usually a bit nit-picky about the books I read, since over the years I’ve come to the conclusion that life is too short to read bad books when there are so many books out there to choose from lol. But this one definitely hit the nail on the head for me as a great suspense thriller. I will definitely be checking out any future books in this series by Carolyn Arnold.

I have followed Carolyn Arnold for a while love the Amanda Steele books so was looking forward to reading this new series.. I like sandra shes interesting and cool and the story was gripping though i did find it dipped towards the end for me.

This was a great read with a different vibe from this authors other series. I enjoyed the new main character and this book went full on action from page one.
The storyline twisted and turned and was a unique read for me. There were some heart stopping moments in this one and a fast pace throughout.

A great new thriller series featuring FBI agent Sandra Vos , a trained negotiator who intervenes in hostage situations.
In this book the reader gets to know a bit of her back story, how her teenage twin brother had been killed in this type of crime. The book starts with her negotiating with a hostage taker in a pharmacy which really serves to set the scene. The reader is able to see how negotiators work, using empathy and keeping a cool head in difficult situations.
However before she can celebrate the safe end of the siege she discovers that her own teenage daughter has been kidnapped and she is in a race against time to get her back with the added problem of having to face her own past demons along the way. The man who murdered her brother many years earlier.
This was a fast paced roller coaster of a read with a very strong female protagonist which I really liked. The setting was DC, a city I know well as my son lives there so I was able to picture some of the locations, particularly the Georgetown river front. The authors was very good at settling the scene.
It didn’t take me long to finish the book as it was easy to read and moved at a very quick pace. I certainly felt I wanted to read more about Sandra Vos and her team when I reached the last page.

Sandra’s twin brother Sam was murdered when they were kids by Darrell who held Sam and a few others hostage. 33 years later Darrell was denied bail. Now as an adult, Sandra works as a negotiator for the FBI. Her job causes some people to want revenge against her and this results in the kidnapping of her daughter, Olivia. She has a limited amount of time to get the kidnappers what they want or her daughter’s life is on the line.

Gavin’s hostage situation was a great start to the story. Sandra being a negotiator that works on the case of her missing daughter made this story really interesting. She is an incredible negotiator and stops at nothing to save her daughter. I liked how the story was narrated by Sandra and the captors of Olivia. The story flowed smoothly. It was frightening not knowing whether the capture would hurt Olivia especially during his POV and reading his malicious thoughts.

There were a few things I didn’t like such as how multiple times throughout the story information that was already provided is repeated by the narrator of the story. The job titles of the characters that work in law enforcement were stated then the author has a detailed description of what that job is. Both of these things that are present in the story are redundant and unnecessary due to the reader being able to understand the first time something is explained and the characters job titles don’t really need to be explained in that much detail. Sandra’s relationship with Eric didn’t feel genuine and felt like a filler for the story that didn’t add much to the story. It was a bit unrealistic but still a good story.

What a great start to a new series from Carolyn Arnold. Sandra is an FBI agent determined to keep her brother's killer in jail when he is up for parole. What happens following the parole hearing is nothing short of a parent's nightmare. But Sandra and her friends will stop at nothing to bring about a positive ending.
Love these new characters. The plot is captivating from the start, fast paced, and has just enough action to make it exciting to read. Highly recommend. Already looking forward to Book 2.

Save Her Life by Carolyn Arnold. The first book in the series, with Sandra Vos who is a FBI Special Agent and hostage negotiator. During the narrative much is learned about Sandra's personal and work relationships and her past. Interesting to learn of some of the negotiating protocols and how they are utilized. Her working relationship with Brice is scrappy and it will interesting in finding out how it evolves. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

This is a great book! Fast paced, suspenseful, engaging story line all wrapped up into one book! Well developed characters with plenty of intriguing snippets to capture your attention! You will be staying up late to finish it!

This book was fab. Our main FMC is Sandra, who is an FBI negotiator. We find out early on she lost her brother to a hostage situation many years before and needs to keep his killer behind bars. The story develops from there and is fast paced with you wanting to read on to find out what happens.

I am a fan of Carolyn Arnolds books and looked forward to reading Save Her Life and getting to know more about Sandra Vos, a FBI hostage negotiator. The story begins well and really hits the ground running introducing Vos as a likeable and determined character. I think the authors writing is engaging and the plot is good - although I do think Vos being allowed to work a case that is so personal to her is unrealistic. The author brings suspense and mystery to her books and Carolyn Arnold drew me in straightaway and held my attention and interest all the way through. The glimpses into Vos home and personal life are good and I really liked the ending. I think if you like FBI/crime procedurals this is for you and I'd recommend it.

New series by Carolyn Arnold. It was a solid read, but nothing earth shattering. I will most likely read book 2 in the series to see how the characters develop.
