I loved this book and I am truly happy I could spent a whole Sunday reading it. I loved the character and her development throughout the novel. I also found the pace of the story perfect without superfluos descriptions or events. I did not like Ash though but I feel intrigued now about Linden: I hope there would be a next book with a new romance. I have to admit that I am not an English native speaker so I cannot comment on the reading or grammar.
From my humble perspective, I have to admit that magic or fantasy is barely present in this book. I assume as well that the story behind the stone is not finished? Sometimes I felt I was reading a story set up in the 19th and others in the 21st century: author explained it but sometimes I got confused. Having said so, I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes this genre.

I was given an advance reader copy by NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion.
Cedar is an orphan who lives with her grandmother. Ash is a prince who lives with the loss of his mother and in the shadow of his father and older brother. When they cross paths, they’re immediately drawn to each other and develop a friendship. The kingdom they live in has banned books and music, but when the two of them get stranded for two seasons in a cabin they discover poetry and an abandoned cello. Their friendship grows into love. While they know they can’t hide forever, their discovery by the king’s guards, who are looking for Ash, propels them towards their destiny to free their kingdom from its oppression.
I really enjoyed this one. When I got to the end, I was sad that it was over and couldn’t believe I was on the last page.
I look forward to the next book!
