Luka is the perfect vampire—charming, elegant... and completely burned out. Tired of his endless routine, he discovers the perfect escape: a peaceful human bathhouse.
This had all the ingredients for something truly special: a mysterious vampire, a human connection, and great artwork.
The story, though... left me wanting more.
The relationship between the Luka and Sakura had potential, but it never really went anywhere. By the end, I was turning pages hoping for a twist, a revelation, anything to kick things up a notch.
It’s worth checking out for the art alone, and if you love slow, quiet stories, you'll probably enjoy this one.

This is the type of manga I'd want to pick up when I'm sick or sad. It's low stakes, heartwarming, and wholesome. When I finished reading it I could even feel my whole body had relaxed. If you like the found family trope, cute kids and creatures, and lovely androgynous men, then I recommend it.
It is curious that this didn't turn into a romance. There seems to be some interest from Luka (the vampire) towards our protagonist (Sakura), who vehemently debuffs his comical advances. It's like the author was dipping their toe into the idea, but didn't fully commit. Just a warning for readers who were hoping for a more sensual or romantic experience. It is definitely still worth reading, though!
Thank you Netgalley and Kodancha for the Arc!

Don't really know what to say about this one. I had a hard time getting into the story. I sadly had to dnf, might revist later but for now I don't think this is the book for me.

A Vampire in the Bathhouse is a fun and comedic one-shot manga. Luka the vampire is looking for a cure for his hangover when he discovers the everyday magic of a bathhouse in the human world. Sakura with help from family, runs the bathhouse and is shocked by Luka's appearance, but eventually allows him to start working for him. This has a fun cast of characters, but I wish it was more than one volume to further develop Luka and Sakura's relationship. Thanks to Kodansha and Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Very cute. Luka is a vampire in a demon realm, capable of great magic—except when he’s in the human world. Then he needs the blood of his pact partner to cast spells. Sex would be even better.
Sakura, 23, runs the family bathhouses with his grandfather, and looks after his little brother Umenosuke, 7, while their parents work abroad. When Luka suddenly appears inside his baths, he takes it in a stride, except the donating blood part. Sex is definitely out of question.
Luka decides to stay and help, and makes his home with the brothers. Together he, Sakura and Ume form a lovely family unit. Everything is sweet and cozy, until a rivalling vampire shows up and wants to take the entire bathouse to the demon realm. Together, they find solution even for that.
This was a fairly wholesome, cute story, with a hint of naughtiness. There’s no romance between Luka and Sakura, but if the story continues, that might change. As it stands, it’s a great slice of life that leaves you happy. Art is great. (The cover doesn’t do Luka’s beauty justice.)

It's been a while since I've come across such a comforting read, one that simply made me have a good time and enjoy myself. It's a one-shot, but I'd really love for this to continue, in just a few pages I grew really attached to the characters, and that's a difficult thing to achieve. I also really liked the building of the world of demons, I would really love to know more, or see more adventures of these characters.
If you're looking for something fun, lighthearted, with endearing characters, vampires, and a bit of magic, this is the read for you.

such a fun slice of life esk manga but with a Vampire/demon twist! Really cute read with very lovable characters! I do wish this was part of a series cause I would love more from these characters and the bathhouse. I just want more!!
The art is honestly so well done! I love the character designs a lot!! There's just so much detail in every page.

A Vampire in the Bathhouse is an easy read, a quick, heartwarming story about a vampire finding his way to a bathhouse, and poor human Sakura has to deal with taking care of the bathhouse and his little brother. I think that it is a very cute story, and while it does have a tidbit of nudity, there is no smut. Fun, simple, and quick, if you like stories you can finish in one sitting, this one is the one for you. Thank you to NetGalley, Niko Izuki, and Kodansha Comics for the opportunity to read an Advanced Reader’s Copy (ARC) in exchange for my honest opinion.

Over all silly. Overall entertaining. I was a bit intrigued in the magic system and how he had to recover his mana in the human world.

This manga was incredibly wholesome to read! I love the cozy aesthetic and the light hearted tone that is carried out throughout the story. I find that it is similar in some ways to 'Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid' in terms of premise - magical creatures investigate a sleepy Japanese neighbourhood, and then find their niche in it's culture - but this manga has it's own individual charm to it. The story also builds upon a silly premise, and weaves a plot about finding their place in the community. The plot is well paced and adds enough threats to the bathhouse that would be logical, but it is not emphasized in a way that makes it overdramatic for a cozy read. The characters each have their own quirks that complement each other, and the additions do not overwhelm the story. The art style also captures the essence of a Japanese suburb, and brings in such a warm = feeling to it. I love the designs of both vampires and children/demons (Luka and Umenosuke in particular), and how the contrast of each character's art makes for such a lighthearted mood. In alll, this manga is well written, well paced, and well drawn. I wish there were more volumes!

I really was not expecting this to be this cute.
The characters were adorable, the artstyle is super pretty and many moments were genuinely funny.
I would pick up the second volume in a heartbeat!

Publishing date: 29.04.2025 (DD/MM/YYYY)
Thank you to NetGalley and Kodansha Comics for the ARC. My opinions are my own.
TLDR: A slightly gay slice of life story with vampires and demons. 4 stars
Imagine living your life normally and suddenly your life is infiltrated by a hot and sweet vampire set on living and working full time at your bathhouse. This is that in manga format.
I found this manga to be incredibly sweet and just a nice refresher compared to the other things I have read recently. A palate cleanser if you will.
The story and the characters are really simple. Not much depth or complex workings, but they do their part well.
The artstyle was really pretty, but! A lot of the panels and pages I found really "busy" with a lot of elements and bubbles clasing for space. Maybe some more simplicity would be beneficial?
I would recommend this to general manga fans. More directed at those who enjoy sweet and "problem-free" slice of life mangas. The few conflicts scattered here are resolved quickly and relatively painlessly.
All in all, this was really sweet and I will be keeping an eye out for continuations. 4 stars.

A Vampire in the Bathhouse is a light and fun slice of life manga, perfect read for those, who want something easily digestible entertainment with gorgeous art.
Following Luca, a vampire, who just wants to relax and escape his exhausting life, enters a bathhouse, where he meets Sakura, and his family, caretakers of the bathhouse. They take him in, despite his over the top personality and extra self. Fortunately they warm up fast to each other.
We get to see Luca, Sakura and his little brother spending time together in a heartwarming and hilarious way. The humor is sometimes absurd, but it is right up to my alley.
The art style of this manga is stunning, the level of detail is amazing. The detail in the characters’ outfits is awesome, it adds a lot to the whole cozy, magical feel.
This is a one volume manga, which I think is a shame, since the story ended with a cliffhanger and left plenty of room for future chapters. The characters could’ve used a bit more depth, but considering it’s only one volume, they were surprisingly entertaining and easy to like.
If you're into feel-good supernatural stories with cozy vibes and tons of charm, this one’s a gem.
Thank you to NetGalley and Kodansha Comics for the ARC!
Set to release April 29th

Everything i wanted and more.
A Vampire who decides to come to Earth and take up employment in a bath house while fighting very obvious feelings for the owner's son.
I NEED the 2nd volume immediately!

First up a big big thank you for allowing me to read this book, or well giving me an opportunity.
Because sadly at 60 pages in I gave up. The art was gorgeous (seriously the details), the idea was fun, our human MC's baby brother was adorbs, the censoring was hilarious, I loved the setting. But then there is the rest. There is no tension/sparks between the vampire MC and the human MC and I would have loved to see that happen especially given the whole blood deal + sex partner bit, the pacing felt all over the place, the slice of life which normally is fun just lacked some salt and spice, there was just too much dialogue at times, I am bit done with vampires not knowing how the human world works, and my ADHD just started wandering and I know that is bad sign. So I am giving 2 stars (for the art, the cover, the idea), but any more nope.

A really fun, cute manga that does what it says on the tin! The romance isn't particularly explicit (more implied than directly shown) but it is sweet and enjoyable, I think this is more of a found family book than a romance, overall.

A Vampire in the Bathhouse is a quirky, fun little story with a surprisingly warm heart. The characters are charming, the setup is hilarious, and the whole vibe is light with just the right touch of mischief. What really stood out, though, was the art—expressive, clean, and super stylish. It brings the whole thing to life in the best way. Definitely a refreshing, entertaining read with some great visual flair.

Thank you NetGalley for a free copy!
I was excited to read this and I think I would’ve enjoyed it more if the pacing was significantly slower and the we got to spend more time to develop the characters and romance. It felt like everything happened so fast and we didn’t get to truly experience anything.
It was definitely funny at times and the world was cool, but I also feel like the transitions to Luka living in the bathhouse wasn’t explained.
This would be a fun read for anyone looking for something lighthearted, with fun classic characters and an interesting world!

A Vampire in the Bathhouse is a cute, light-hearted slice of life manga about a vampire who's so enamored with a local bathhouse, he vows to stay with the family in the human realm. Cue the shenanigans. It's a shame this is a one shot. The adventures of Luka and Sakura deserve their own series! The characters are charming and funny, especially star of the show Luka. Though you would assume having a gorgeous vampire in a bathhouse would lead to raunchy situations, the book is surprisingly lighthearted. Sure, some naughtiness is implied, but the story is more about Luka and this family coming together to create their own new, yet weird family. Overall, it was a good time. If you want a story that's funny, a tad absurd, but has a great message, then check this one out.
