Another 5/5 from Laurie Gilmore. Yes, all of her books follow the same general plot, but it's why I pick them! It was nice for this novel that we had flashbacks throughout, since unlike the other books, the characters knew each other for this one.

The Gingerbread Bakery had all the makings of a cozy holiday romance and all my fave tropes: enemies to lovers, small town charm, and the return to Dream Harbor. Unfortunately it just didn't land for me. The premise sounded adorable, but I struggled to connect with Annie and Mac and didn't feel much chemistry between them. The story moved slowly, and I found myself getting bored and having trouble finishing it. That said, I did enjoy seeing the other Dream Harbor characters again
V, which helped keep me going. Overall,
not my favorite in the series but still a sweet addition all in all. 3/5 ~ thank you netgalley, Laurie Gilmore and Harper Collins for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

"The Gingerbread Bakery" is Christmas comeback on September that you won't want to put down! Laurie Gilmore has once again given us the perfect blend of cosiness, humour and romance.
The atmosphere of the small town of Dream Harbor envelops you from the very first pages: snow-covered streets, the aroma of freshly baked gingerbread, and a sense of community that only exists in a close-knit and friendly community.
And although Jeanie and Logan's wedding preparations provide a warm backdrop, the real focus is on Annie and Mac. I especially liked that the author presents their story in two time dimensions - chapters from the past and the present. This adds depth, helps to better understand the tension between them, and at the same time shows how, step by step, they learn to let go of their resentments.
Their bickering, sincere emotions, and gradual discovery of feelings make this storyline exciting and very lively. Gilmore's take on the ‘enemies to lovers’ trope is a real treat!

Forever greautful Laurie Gilmore and Harper Collins for ARC!

She has done it again! Laurie Gilmore just keeps giving and I keep taking. I have been curious about Annie and Mac’s situationship since the very beginning, and I am extremely excited that this novel delves into the back story of this “love-me, hate-me” relationship.

Without giving anything away, I truly appreciate that we learned what happened, how our character got where they are, and how they will progress through life. This ended exactly how I wanted, and I appreciate that so much.

I cannot wait to see updates on everyone in the next book!
