I received this ebook as an ARC from NetGalley.
This is a continuation of The Chronicles of Danbarrah that began in The Stones Will Sing. All the characters are back to continue their story. There are places I cried and a few where I laughed. There is a quest and a few twists in this book. It is an uncompleted series and I generally hate waiting for the next installment of series'. I will watch for news of the next book.

I received this advance copy from NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion.
I was really excited to get selected to read this book because I enjoyed “The Stones Will Sing” and wanted to know what would happen next. The premise that music and poetry is forbidden that was started in “The Stones Will Sing” is continued in “Eventide of Joy” but this time Ash and Cedar are joined by Linden, Calla, and Cypress to find the stones that will enable them to fight against King Marcus. I usually don’t enjoy middle books, but I felt like this book further developed characters I enjoyed. At the end, I wasn’t devastated by the events but instead was left wondering what will happen in the third book. In a way, this book reminded me of “Lord of the Rings” because of the way a group of people who care about each other are working to succeed on a quest.
I look forward to the next book in this series!
