🌶️5/5 Spice
🔥Slow Burn
❤️ Smut with a plot
✨Dual POV

Woah, all right this book was S-T-E-A-M-Y in absolute capital letters in the best way possible. There is SMUT and then there is SMUT with a plot and this was defiantly the latter.

Jessica, our MMC, is strong, independent, caring and kind. She is a school teacher that has lost both of her parents early on in her life and the book starts off with a bang when she is just getting a routine annual examine when, Dr.Adam West walks in. The tension in the air during this scene is so palpable you can literally cut through it with a knife. Dr.Adam West, is handsome and smart. Little does Jessica know, he used to be obsessed with her in high school. He was a senior while she was a freshman, so she never knew him then. He always watched her from a distance. She was the popular sweet cheerleader and he was the nerd who was heavily bullied. After, realizing who is in his examine room, he conducts his examination a little more throughly than he should. Leaving them both hanging for more. However, West has rules — he never gets attached, never more than one sexual encounter and defiantly no dating. So why does he suddenly find himself giving Jessica his number and breaking every rule/boundary there is when it comes to doctor/patient relations?!

Let me start off by saying, I literally devoured this book in like 5 hours. I stayed up all night reading this because I was hanging on every single word, and every scene left me craving more with that tension in the air. This book was SMUT at it’s finest, but with a plot. Which I know I’ve said like 5 times already, but yes please! It’s so rare to find smut that has something going on besides, well smut. SO we love a good smut with a plot. The slow burn in this book is absolutely killer. It is just so well written — the pacing that gives us that good slow burn is absolutely spot on. There is time jumps in this book, which, I sometimes feel like don’t work well because they aren’t executed properly in most books. However, this just added to that level of slow burn and unlike most time jumps in novels, it felt like a smooth transition and I didn’t feel like I had just missed 25 chapters in between.

This book has so much character development in both West and Jessica. West obviously more than Jessica as his layers were more of an onion. Every single scene left me page turning. We learn more and more about West’s history and why he is the way he is and what really makes him tick. It’s character development in it’s finest, when you realize that the roles have reversed from the past —West once bullied, and not so attractive then, is now the popular, rich, sexy doctor. While Jess, may still be hot, but she’s a teacher who is poor and doesn’t have any family. She slowly starts to realize that West has embedded himself in every aspect of her life and there’s no escaping. Thing’s couldn’t be going better until she realizes that he’s been holding on to secrets.

Overall, yes or no to should you read this book? UM Abso-freaking-lutely. If you are a dark romance girly like myself, this will be a fast, on your edge, book for you. It also got me out of a little reading rut I was in! I’m excited to see if we will get a Parker and Monica book after that little tease on the end!

I was not sure what to expect from this book as it has trigger warnings with it. With being familiar around hospital settings, I wondered it I should but I choose to at least give it a go. Jessica does not realise how much her life will change when she goes for her annual check up at the doctors. Dr West cannot believe Jessica is standing before him. You can feel the attraction between the both of them especially when Dr West starts doing his examination. Now I did find this bit a little cringe but it works for how the story develops I think. Things develop between the two of them and things get deep (excuse the pun) when Jessica moves in with him. She starts to find out more about him than she could ever imagine. But is this what she wants for the rest of her life? I feel as though this book was way more than just sex, it was about how obsession and desire can obscure what is really going on in someone's head. I thought it was a good and powerful read.

I must say I really enjoyed it. I was so juicy and so interesting.
I’m not going to lie but I was low key enjoying the office visits, definitely a random way to meet a man but it’s was spicy!
Now the way it just let me wide mouth. I want more.
I know this could be a good story, it’s so more to unbox.
I loved it. 😍
This was an easy read. Definitely had some spice to it.
I just love the sexual tension between the FMC and MMC.
This story is giving fifty shades of West vibes!
The obsession West has for Jessica is wild! And I’m all here for it.

This book had a really good start and it made me so excited to see where it went. Please check trigger warnings before you read. This is definitely a case of half insta lust and half almost pining I guess? The backstory between the two characters is interesting and I was super curious as to what would happen there, as well! Part II of the book is where the pacing really picked up, and it had me in a chokehold! Adam and Jessica’s different points of views in this were so much fun. The dynamics in this one were more familiar and seeing Jessica in West’s world was interesting.
This book had fantastic wrap-up! With that very specific thing finally happening, I was waiting very impatiently to see Jessica’s reaction and how the dynamic between her and West would progress from there. I especially enjoyed the way the author portrayed the third act breakup here and the reason for it, and it was fun getting to see more of Jess’s friends and her coworkers/students, as well as more Parker at the end! As a teacher myself, those scenes about the kiddos and their backgrounds really got me. The spice was spicing, the romance was romancing, West was West-ing and you know what? It was the perfect ending. Well done!

This book is a complete saga of epic proportions that will not only leave you satisfied but thoroughly gaga and emotionally spent, it’s so real feel . The edginess of their backstory and the way the dominance is created is both clever and engaging . Being so Immersed into their submissive, sensual and sexually explicit world and their fully rounded storyline is heavenly ,sublime and these beautifully crafted characters with backgrounds so vulnerable and deep. She’s called in for her yearly examination ,just routine ,though she isn’t looking forward to being seen ,in fact she has tried avoiding before ,even losing sleep. He cannot believe who just walked through his door. At first he wants to make miss popular pay but then has a think some more ,he’s taken an oath, anyway ,he’s giving her a thorough examination and she doesn’t turn him away. He cannot believe he’s getting to know her so well ,and how her inner core does swell too. Legs open wide stirrups attached ,there’s nowhere to go , nowhere to hide as he goes inside and examines , but she’s assured. It’s part of the treatment no alarm ,but ooh he does balm giving her an inner calm. But when she goes back ,for something that was remiss , was not on Dr. West’s list the last time she went, so no harm meant, there’s NO turning her away , because this time he’s in his element . He visits her tiny closet of a home too…..soon becomes her only friend ,when he saves her from her neighbour ,a fiend once her friend who wouldn’t let her say no in the end. He even tried breaking down her door! She moves in with the doctor for her own protection and he moves her. She is all submissive and horny as heck . But boy does she eventually have him at her beck …This Dominant is hers and she’s his to own. Moan and be punished, them’s the rules .Stay mum ,not a hum nor a murmur or else . He’s not revealed as much of himself to any other ,he’s shown her his depths and the scars . She sees stars with his expertise . He does tease her with the touch she loves so much. He’s into her ,thinks she’s great and she’s into him ,teaches him a thing or two too thanks to M . There are so many layers to these characters. Forced proximity with a safe word. Bet you can’t guess what it is…I digress ,where was I? Oh yes. Dark desire ,no holds barred heat .So hot and steamy and deliciously ramped up with the safe word she chooses, well it’s a real treat, oh so sweet and this comes topped with cream ,which when looked at it ,it’s really quite apt and fitting the bill. There’s desire that is on fire , lust and a thrill. Then there’s trust and obey he does say at will. There’s a vulnerability that shows through from both of them . Dr. Ward is getting more involved than he wanted to in the beginning. With this oh so many layered story I was ooh and argh and aah and ooh heat ,repeat ! I’m grinning. It’s got depths with the layers of these players. Told succinctly by Lexi Davis . An astoundingly brilliant storyline. The telling outstanding. A good time read of sex and need with a brilliantly beautiful story underneath.

Trust me when I say this book pulled me into the world of dark romance like nothing else. From the very first page, I was completely hooked. Adam and Jessica are such an intriguing pair—his mysterious, dark past and her love for who he really is make for a chemistry that’s absolutely electric. What I loved most was how Adam slowly opened up to Jessica, revealing the layers of his troubled history. It made their connection feel so raw and real.

This book isn’t just about the spice (though there’s plenty of that), it’s also a masterclass in storytelling, it has a great plot. The plot is so compelling, with twists and depth that keep you turning pages long after you should’ve gone to bed. And the author’s writing style? It’s perfection—rich, captivating, and impossible to put down. I honestly couldn’t get enough. If you love dark romance, this book is an absolute must-read. I’m already eagerly waiting for more from Lexi Davis—she’s a talent you don’t want to miss!

I devoured the Deeply Examined series by Lexi Davis, which soon will be available in a convenient omnibus edition. This captivating trilogy combines three novella-length books, seamlessly woven together to create a continuous, addictive narrative.

The story follows Jessica, a school teacher, and Dr. Adam West, her enigmatic doctor, as they navigate a complex, passionate relationship. From their initial meeting at Jessica's annual physical exam, their attraction grows, and Adam's possessiveness increases. As the story unfolds, we delve deeper into Adam's troubled past, gaining a better understanding of his character.

This series is an enjoyable, spicy read, leaning more towards erotic than traditional romance. However, the romance is still present, and I found myself curious, laughing, blushing, and gasping throughout.

The omnibus edition, releasing on April 24, 2025, is perfect for readers who dislike cliffhangers. You'll be able to read the entire series in one sitting, without interruptions.

If you're a fan of dark medical romances, I highly recommend the Deeply Examined series. Be prepared for a wild, emotional ride!

This omnibus grabs you right from the beginning and is everything a sp!cy dark romance needs in my opinion. There's a plot with it all too which I really love.

Jessica is sitting at her gynecology exam and a bit nervous but turns into more when the doctor comes in and he is hot.

West can't believe his eyes when he sees Jessica in his exam room. He went to school with her but she was the popular cheerleader and he was far from popular. He had a pretty rough childhood and decided to make something of himself. Jessica doesn't recognize him and he decides he wants to dominate her and see how far can go.

As the story goes on there's attraction and definitely a need for control and turns into needing more. So much happens in this and sends you into a whirlwind of emotions and not wanting to put this book down. Definitely read!
