What Sleeps Within the Cove will take you on an emotional rollercoaster ride so hang on tightly! Estrella’s journey in Tartarus is filled with heartbreak but also character growth as she struggles not only to survive, but the secret behind her true lineage is revealed. The love and devotion in this book will have your heart fluttering. A grippingly intoxicating read in the best way possible, this fourth book in the Of Flesh & Bone series was everything I was waiting for.

I had initially DNF’d this book but I decided to give it another chance and I’m SO glad that I did. I didn’t love the constant ‘travelling’ in the third book and I felt like it was repetitive in this one but as it turns out I ended up loving Estrella’s trek through Tartarus. It allowed for so much character growth between both her and Caldris and Caldris really needed it because he wasn’t my favourite until this book!
I appreciated all of the twists and the REVEALS in this book were top tier. The references to all of the Greek mythology characters was such a fun part of this.
I also adored Harper L. Woods message;
‘To every woman out there who has had to overcome what fate threw at them… this one’s for us.’
All in all I am really glad that I picked this back up and thank you to NetGalley and Harper L. Woods for the ARC.

Thank you to Hodderscape for this eARC! What Sleeps Within the Cove picks up right where we left off…with Estrella on her way to Tartarus. This book felt a bit different to the first three as Estrella & Caldris are both navigating their own paths separately for a large part of it but it means we get to see so much more of Estrella in her own right and her journey of self discovery. We find out so many answers to questions that came up throughout the series with some pretty big revelations! Not going to lie I did think this was the last book in the series going info it but it does end on a major cliffhanger so it definitely is not!

I want to scream, this book had so much and I just know the next one is going to be fire too.
It truely felt like we got alot of long awaited answers so it was satisfying but it also gave me more questions to look forward to the answers to.

Harper L. Woods has solidified herself as one of my go-to authors for a seductive blend of action, fantasy, emotional depth, suspenseful cliffhangers, and just the right amount of spice. What Sleeps Within the Cove completely lived up to my already sky-high expectations of this author.
This instalment plunges us deeper into the mesmerising world she’s created, as the main character unravels new mysteries, faces gripping trials, and undergoes meaningful growth. The storyline answers a pivotal question that has intrigued me since the series began, offering satisfying insights while leaving room for even more curiosity. The characters remain as compelling and relatable as ever—there’s no loss of that vital emotional connection in this fourth book. You can feel every ounce of their love, tension, and resilience. I also appreciated seeing less of a particular villain who loomed prominently in earlier books—it brought a refreshing balance to the narrative.
The challenges these characters endure, and their ability to persevere, weave a storyline that takes an unexpected but welcome direction. Harper L. Woods has a knack for keeping readers on their toes, and this book is no exception.
If you loved the first three, this one is a must-have for your collection. I’m already counting the days until book five, even though this one hasn’t hit shelves yet.

Forever obsessed with Harper’s writing, the spice and the world building!
I’ve been counting down the days until I have this book in my hands, so I was so happy when I was very kindly given an arc, and let me tell you that this did not disappoint!!

After the last book I almost DNFed the series, but I was so curious to see how the story continued. I’m happy to say that I liked this book a lot more than the third: we finally get some answers, and I really enjoyed the trials and Estrella’s journey into Tartarus. It was also nice to get a break from Mab and her evilness. All things considered, I still believed this would have been a great trilogy, however I am way too invested now (especially after this cliffhanger!) and will be finishing the series.
Thank you to Netgalley, Hodder, and the author for the arc!

Harper L. Woods takes us on a breathtaking, high-stakes journey in What Sleeps Within the Cove, delivering a story packed with heart-wrenching sacrifices, gripping trials, and an unraveling destiny that kept me hooked from start to finish.
Estrella’s journey in Tartarus is everything I hoped for and more—intense, emotional, and filled with the kind of growth that makes a character unforgettable. Her struggle to survive without her magic, her relentless determination, and the discovery of her true lineage add so much depth to her story. And Caldris? His devotion and dramatic declarations made every moment between them feel even more powerful. Their bond, even in separation, is absolutely electric.
The trials of the Five Rivers were brutal and captivating, and the world-building in Tartarus was nothing short of mesmerizing. The tension, the action, and the sheer weight of Estrella’s choices made this book impossible to put down.
This installment was everything I wanted—dark, emotional, and deeply satisfying. And now, I’m desperate for the next one!

This book could have been fewer chapters
FMC is on another adventure but doesn't seem to finish off with the last books adventures.
We get a new POV that helps the reader but I didn't feel it was necessary.
We're 4 books in now. I wish the series ended here but of course there's more and I'm unsure whether I'll continue, the wait for this book was so long it took me till 70% in to remember the majority of the previous books.
There were some answers to questions from books 1-3 so that was good

FINALLY!!!
We finally find out about Estrella's lineage! I had my theories based on What Lurks Between the Fates and I wasn't far off which was extremely satisfying 😂 (and you find out in the first half of the book ✔️)
This book was so much more than what I was expecting. Even though there's a little less spice than in previous books, so many questions were finally answered! The plot also took a whole different direction than what I was expecting but in a good way. The events and emotional journey that Estrella goes through while in Tartarus were exactly what we needed and Caldris, so full of dramatic declarations, was just what Estrella needed 😍🤤🔥
