Sophie and Andreas had a relationship 8 years ago that was hot and heavy but ended when Andreas couldn’t commit to anything more than a fling. In the present day the destination wedding business Sophie works for and the adventure sport company Andreas work for decide to merge and the two are forced to get along for the sake of the company.
This book is fine - once I got into it it was a pretty quick read, though I wasn’t doing anything else on that day and I think there’s definitely a universe where I could have DNF’d but I was intrigued enough to carry on in this one. I really liked a previous book by Leonie so I was sad to not love this one more, but ultimately the writing felt a little stilted for me so it was hard to be fully absorbed.
I think my ultimate issue is I doing think Sophie and Andreas should be together. Sure they’re attracted to each other, but they are so fundamentally different and want different things (until they magically don’t with lacking character development to get us there) and argue way more than they actually get on. It took a really long time before I felt chemistry between them and then they seem to turn things around but I’m not convinced they would be end game - Andreas has a change of heart that feels out of character and a plot point is introduced that feels inconsistent with part 1. We know from the acknowledgements the first half was re written and unfortunately I think it shows.
Ultimately it’s a quick read and a good option if you like very light fluffy books. It deals with several difficult topics with several TWs especially for miscarriage but they were often handled quite surface level.

What a fun second chance romance and summer read! If I see anything set it in Italy, it is always a must read for me! There was so much tension and history between Sophie and Andreas that it was electric. I did feel the book dragged in certain sections, but otherwise it was such a fun and quick read. Loved following along on their journey!

I have in recent years become a huge fan of Leonie's books and have read nearly all of them. I really love her writing style and the character development that is always there and the beautiful setting is often the cherry on top.
I enjoyed this book and I liked the main characters Sophie and Andreas, but I didn't love them nor their story as much as I had expected to. So perhaps I was 80% invested in their story and not 100% making it a 4 star read, but I will definitely be back for book 2 in this series and for anything else Leonie decides to write.

A cute, comforting second-chance romance featuring adorable canine co-stars, found family, and a swoony reunion that proves some sparks are meant to be rediscovered. It wasn't one of my favorite books of the year. However, it wasn't the worst. I would read another book by this author.

a decent slow burn romance set in the Italian mountains - this was a decent read with likeable characters although I found it a bit slow at times

This sounded like the perfect summer read. It was a little bit of a slow burn and I couldn’t really relate to the characters but it was still an easy read. It did feel summery at least

Cute story set on an Italian mountain of a rekindled love. I enjoyed the characters and the storyline.

I picked this up thinking it’d be the perfect summer read, especially since some of my best friends are from Italy.
Unfortunately, I ended up DNF’ing it pretty early on. The writing style just didn’t work for me, and I found the main character rather annoying.
In the future I might try another book by the author, but this one just wasn’t for me.

I was looking forward to reading this book as I have just returned from a holiday to Italy and went to Lake Garda for the day, the setting of the story.
After a rather slow start the pace did pick up a bit. The story was rather obvious but at least there was a happy ending. Wouldn't rush to recommend this as it wasn't anything that exciting.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book. I have chosen to write this honest review voluntarily and it reflects my personal opinion.
I have enjoyed other books by this author to varying degrees, and I had high hopes for this book which is primarily set in an alpine region. One third in and I had to admit this was not as I'd hoped. I thought there was less of the beautiful setting, and even activities (climbing) suited to the area, and much more about the relationship between the 2 main characters. This seemed very drawn out and I didn't empathise with either of them.
It is well-written and I didn't come across any bad language and for those reasons I recommend it's worth a try, it just wasn't for me.

I loved this book! I adored that the characters were a bit older and had bigger more adult problems. It was easy to follow and the writing style was 10/10. Sweet little romance, highly recommend!

Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for this e-arc in exchange for my honest review.
This book was beautiful. The main characters are also older than usual for a romance - which is something that I appreciate SO much! Love doesn't just happen in your 20's, or even early 30's - sometimes its later in life and it's just incredibly good to see. The number of characters in this book however was incredibly overwhelming and confusing
If you love adventures and fun and love? This story is a great fit for that!

Sophie, divorced, is a wedding planner, not everyday wedding planner, the agency where she works for specializes in destination weddings. When they team up with an adventure travel company Sophie finds herself in serious trouble. Andreas, her ex-boyfriend works there.
She was left heartbroken some time ago when she had a dream of the wedding they could have, only to find out he did not feel the same way. Now they have to design wedding adventures and happy endings for their clients.
Both their hidden passion for each other are still there and the work relationship becomes difficult.
When relationships don’t have a proper ending, this happens.
This book is for the adventure types who enjoy discovering new places and challenges.
The description of the Italian scenery is superb.

In this book we meet Sophie who is doing her best to be the best wedding planner she can be for any kind of wedding her clients may throw at her. However one wedding her last meets her present when she has to deal with Andreas the man she fell for and never got over. We follow the journey of the start of extreme wedding destinations/experiences, forced proximity and reflection of who and what has shaped you after almost 10 years of being apart. If you enjoy happily ever afters with and going on adventures give this book a shot! Thank you NetGalley, Boldwood Books & Leonie Mack for choosing me to be an arc reader for this book.

Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC!
I love the mountain climbing/wedding planning adventure wedding premise, and I really enjoyed envisioning the wonderful views the protagonist must be seeing up the mountains and how the hikes they did strengthened their relationship or killed it. Couldn't put down the book once I got into it but I had to work..
I am not a outdoors person, but imagining is good enough for me. I do look forward to reading about the wedding of the wedding planner, so I am definitely going to be reading the sequel. Also going to be hunting down all of Leonie Mack's books now!

I'm afraid I couldn't quite get on with the main characters Sophie and Andreas in this story. Andreas just seemed to be a hard and quite a horrible man and Sophie seemed a pushover. I would like to read more by this author in future because I liked her style of writing and the overall storyline was interesting but I just couldn't get on with the characters.

The cover is definitely what drew me in to reading this book, the image shouts holiday romance and the bold colours are so eye catching.
I was not disappointed when I dove in to this gripping, easy read romance. The story follows female main character Sophie and male main character Andreas as they are thrown back together again eight years after they split up!
I loved both main characters, the authors does a really good job of making them relatable and realistic. I also enjoyed the different locations this was set in especially the Italian mountains - I bet those views are amazing.
If you love a romance then this is a book for you.

What an excellent concept and start to what is promising to be an entertaining new series.
I absolutely love the idea of adventure weddings and this book combines my love of drama, romance, thrills, travel and a gorgeous guy into one irresistible story.
I really enjoyed getting to know Sophie and Andreas and seeing how they interact now they have come across each other again after many years.
We get to see how they have changed and why they are the people they have become , and it is clear there is still a spark.
I also loved the scouting of locations for this climbing wedding as well as the day itself.
I am already looking forward to the next book in this series, and really enjoyed this first book a great deal.
Thank you to Boldwood Books and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

An older second chance romance in Italy? So exiting!
Sophie-Leigh is a wedding planner who gets the chance to plan an adventurous wedding in Italy. Unfortunately to plan this she must work with her ex, Andreas, who she had spontaneously proposed to 8 years ago and was rejected. How can they pull this wedding off!
This book was a bit hard to get into. There was a lot of information given in the beginning that wasn't needed/could've been spread out. The point of view also felt off to me, I think this book could've benefited from being in first person instead. I enjoyed the main characters and how they did have a history but also how they've grown in the years apart.
This was a cute, short read once I got into it. Perfect for anyone needing a sweet romance and likes a little adventure!
