WHAAAAATTT!!
WOW, Just WOW!!

This is the first novel I have read by Sarah Pinborough and now, the rest of her books are on my tbr. This is such an original story and completely absorbing.

The story revolves around married couple Emily and Freddie, who have sold up their house in London and have moved to an old, country house on the edge of Dartmoor. This move was necessary after Emily had a devastating accident whilst on holiday with Freddie and their friends in Ibiza. The accident left Emily in a coma and Freddie wondering if his wife would ever return to him.

Emily is left alone in their lonely, sprawling new home whilst Freddie commutes to his London office. Alone and still recovering, Emily feels that all is not well in the house. Strange smells and sounds haunt her days and she starts to feel that the house is haunted. In a quest for answers, Emily starts to investigate the rooms in her home. But, are the answers that Emily craves going to haunt her further.

I can’t say anything more, for fear of giving it away but the story here is brilliantly original and completely unputdownable. I absolutely LOVED it and will continue to rave about this one for many moons 🌖 to come! Excellent! 👌🏻

I’d like to thank Orion Publishing Group, NetGalley and the author for the arc and the fantastic opportunity, in exchange for my honest feedback 😊

Book released on 5th June 2025

Another brilliant storyline from Sarah Pinborough. Totally gripping and believable but chilling at the same time. Would certainly recommend this to fans of Sarah and to those new to her writing,

This was such a great balance of super creepy atmosphere and great storyline with lots of little twists along the way! I can’t say I liked either main character, but they were so well created that was kind of the point I think! First book in a very long time that I had to put down when it got dark!

Emily and Freddie have bought a house in the country. They’re getting a fresh start after Emily’s awful accident that left her in a coma. Or are they???

The house Larkin Lodge has secrets and is trying to tell Emily something. It is it just her memory playing tricks on her?

This was such an original plot and well written book I really enjoyed it.

Sarah Pinborough is honestly the best for twists!! Super easy to read everything just hit!!

Throughout this book I did find myself confused at places but because I buddy read it with my bestie I was able to talk to her through things and it helped so much!!

Really excited for everyone to read this and hear everyone’s thoughts!!

This book is so creepy and so dark! Loved it. I think Sarah Pinborough just became an auto buy author for me. Love the mix of thriller with supernatural, relationship dynamics and just having no idea what's real.

Emily and Freddie have moved from London to a large house on Dartmoor after Emily had an accident which left her in a coma.

Her husband still works in London and Emily, with no friends close she feels alone and isolated.

She begins to feel afraid in her house and starts to feel that it is haunted in some way. As secrets start to show themselves the couple find themselves in some chaos.

This is a twisty twisty read and one that I did not expect to unravel the way it did. It is brilliant.

This author is a favourite of mine and this book did not disappoint. it's chilling

I love Sarah Pinborough’s twists on her books, her speculative almost supernatural twists keep me guessing. This was such a unique idea and while not perfect (the finding of the book was a little easy), it was great and I enjoyed myself a lot.

Y'all I wasn't ready for this book. I was not prepared!!!

I went into this one not sure what to expect. I've never read this author before so I wasn't sure what lay ahead within the pages of this book. Right off the bat something ominous lingers in the air. You just know that something is off yet you can't put your finger on it.

The main characters both have something to hide which amps up the suspense and mystery. The dual POVs kept me turning the pages. I was so anxious to find out what was really going on beneath the surface. The gothic horror feel of the book immediately pulled me in and the psychological aspect kept me there. I love an unreliable narrator.

As I read on things became even more intense and secrets started to come out that has my spine tingling with anticipation. I didn't just read this book, I absorbed it. When the truth of what was happening was revealed. You could have knocked me over with a feather. Did I not mention I was NOT prepared. Off all the things I imagined, THAT was not one of them. That ending was perfection! I couldn't have thought of a more unsettling ending. A masterpiece of a book!

Thank you to Netgalley, Orion Publishing and Sarah Pinborough for my eARC of this book. All opinions are my own.

HOLY SH*T. What the hell did I just read? and more importantly how the hell do I review it without spoilers?

Fans of Sarah Pinborough and the incredible Behind Her Eyes with the tagline #WTFthatending should be getting very excited. Sarah’s new book WE LIVE HERE NOW is out next June 2025. I was lucky enough to read an early copy a few weeks ago. I still can’t work out how to write this review.

The story revolves around Emily and Freddie. They are a married couple who have moved from London into a huge country house on the edges of Dartmoor. Emily is recovering from an almost-tragic holiday accident which left her in a coma. The move is meant to help in her healing. However, Freddie still has to commute to London for work. This leaves Emily alone for days on end isolated and far from her friends and support network.

She’s struggling emotionally and physically since the accident and begins to see and hear strange things in the house. Convinced the house is haunted, she starts investigating it’s past and starts to uncover some really dark secrets.

That is ALL I am saying about the plot, but I will say this: Sarah Pinborough has a really vivid and disturbed imagination and in my opinion, WE LIVE HERE NOW is as equally brilliant as Behind Her Eyes.

Clever, spooky, amusing and absolutely UNPUTDOWNABLE, the queen of cross-genre WTF fiction has done it again,

5 HUGE STARS
