I adored that India sailed with skeleton pirates!
Reminded me of some of the best scenes of Jack Sparrow's first big adventure.
But really, this book was such a fun and great read and India is a very lovable protagonist, his adventures encourage to go out and find some of your own. This story and the wonderful crew certainly would make a great addition to school libraries as well!
There is also Lancer Main. Every story needs it's villain.

I enjoyed India's story and will certainly recommend it to older readers as well as the themes explored in the story and the piratey fun are not only for YA and teen readers.

An enjoyable, humorous and action packed pirate adventure story cleverly interweaving the dead into the storyline. This story was a one sitting read for me and made for a fast paced and immersive middle grade read.

Cute and fun MG adventure about growing up.

Not going to lie, I was a bit disappointed the entire book wasn't India on the ship of the dead with the skeleton pirates. Haha. But his off ship adventures were also fun and his non skeleton pirate friends were also pretty great. India is a likeable protagonist it's easy to root for. Who didn't want to get the heck out of dodge and have adventures at that age? Even as an adult, I doubt I could resist getting a closer look at the Dance of the Dead. The world was certainly interesting, with bits and pieces of the world as we known it as islands. The bits of history are interesting.

I'm also intrigued by the author's note at the end where he talks about decolonizing the world, so I'm looking forward to future adventures of India and crew.
