I had fun reading the book because it is a starup story and learning reflection at the same time. In this refreshingly candid, often hilarious, and deeply heartfelt memoir-meets-manifesto, Mike and Kass Lazerow pull back the curtain on the reality of entrepreneurship: the highs, the heartbreaks, and the sheer volume of mess that comes with building something meaningful. What sets this book apart is its dual voice. Mike and Kass, both accomplished entrepreneurs and partners in life, alternate perspectives to show the very human side of business. Their vulnerability and honesty make the book not only relatable but profoundly inspiring. Whether it's dealing with crushing setbacks, navigating co-founder dynamics, or figuring out how to keep love alive amid chaos, they approach each moment with raw truth and humor. Rather than glorifying the "grind," Shoveling $h!t celebrates resilience, partnership, and the kind of clarity that comes from surviving the storm with your values intact. The title might raise eyebrows, but it perfectly captures the spirit of the book: success isn't about avoiding the muck—it's about learning to wade through it together, shovel in hand.
