I approached this book with hesitation, as it first appears to be a typical thriller with the evil nanny (I read TOO MANY thrillers). However, once the plot started unfolding, I began to see that I might be wrong—very wrong. While the suspicious behaviors mount and the suspense heightens, it becomes clear that things are not as they seem and I had to find out what happens. The suspense kept going to the very end and the twist made me re-think all of my initial impressions of the characters and the plot, just like any successful psychological thriller. i’m Here to Help is an excellent book; so enthralling that I am hungover from the excitement and intense suspense that kept me listening. Bravo to the excellent narrator as well. Thank you to Bookouture and Netgalley for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

I'm Here to Help by Claire Lunn is a blood-boiling, frustrating, steam-coming-out-of-your-ears psychological thriller with a jaw-dropping twist! Yes - finally I am getting my jaw on the floor because whatever I expected I never expected to end like this!
When I say it's frustrating - oh my, brace yourself! So many times I was ready through my phone and headphones in the corner. Some chapters made me so mad and angry that I was ready to scream at this book!
Elizabeth Bower narrates this audiobook and I am telling you - she is just the perfect choice for this book! I love how differently she made both main characters Frankie and Jasmine sound. And when she was doing Jasmine, it was becoming deep in my bones.
I already checked out more books by this narrator and added them to the top of my list!

This book sparked my interest from the prologue and kept it all the way through. Mainly told in the present times with some small flashbacks from the past. Part one is presented from Frankie's point of view and part two is mainly told from Jasmine's point of view, giving us much-needed clarity of what the hell was going on. It was so easy to connect with characters, was easy to love them and hate some of them. That mother-in-law, I could unalive her, seriously, she was so, so annoying, I could not tolerate her!

When Frankie's second pregnancy becomes too challenging to look after their 3-year-old Olivia her husband Russ and his mother (yes, she is part of everything) decide that they will have a live-in nanny! No one asks what Frankie wants and she can't win against them two. This is where perfect Jasmine arrives. She is like a modern-day Mary Poppins. Frankie feels that something is not right, but she doesn't know that she is in great danger!

Thank you, NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for this fantastic book!

This is a great debut domestic thriller which really hooked me in. As I listened I felt very pleased with myself because I thought I had everything sussed. But then came the shocking, unexpected climax and I realised I m not as clever as I thought I was 😁 Well done Claire Lynn!

I enjoyed the narration by Elizabeth Bower.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC opportunity!

Wow wow wow. This one was GOOD. It had me going back and forth on how i was feeling about most of the characters. I had a feeling that Jasmine was going to be on her side or that something happened with her and him before but couldnt be for sure.

My only complaint is how dense Frankie was sometimes. Like girl, your daughter is straight up telling you PAPA and you are not listening.

The ending was also so satisfying.

This was an enjoyable audio book, nothing too surprising but I felt like I wanted a bit more from the story as this type of thriller has been done so many times. The audio book does grip your attention and is well done and will keep you engaged. This is the first book I have read by the author and interested to try another one to compare. Thanks to netgalley & the publisher for this audio arc.

I'm Here to Help by Claire Lunn offers a really good depiction of a toxic mother-in-law relationship, as well as an unhealthy marriage. I love how everything unfolds, but did find it a bit slow. I hate when a MC jumps to conclusions without any proof. I figured out most of what was going on and found myself rolling my eyes at Frankie's behavior, but I still enjoyed the writing, which is why I rate it 4 stars.

Elizabeth Bower is a great narrator. When the story switched POV, I swore there was a second narrator!

I know I’m going to really enjoy an audiobook in this genre when I don’t want to listen after the prologue & 1st couple of chapters because the tension is so high! But I obviously did listen and I did really enjoy it.
Wonderfully narrated to a reader who skilfully brings all of the characters to life and adds to the emotions and suspense in the book with perfectly-timed tone and pace.
This author is new to me, but given the mastery of weaving such a tale that hooks the listener and draws them into the story until they are living it alongside the characters, I will most definitely be looking out for more from her. Twists and turns had me gasping aloud, shouting at the characters and holding my breath in anticipation of what was to come. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this book & would highly recommend it.

This was a decently entertaining audiobook, but the trope has most certainly been done before. Nothing was twisty or surprising enough to set the story apart from the rest. I will say, getting to the conclusion was entertaining enough to keep me engaged in the storyline and wanting to listen. I did like the idea of females looking out for each other. I was expecting to hear more about Petunia, the mother in law, at the end and have her get a bit of karma.

I listened at 1.75x and found that the narrators were great and easy to understand.

All in all, a decently entertaining audiobook. It has been done before, but it was entertaining enough.

A massive thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for the chance to listen to this advanced copy.

Claire if this is your debut I LOVVVVED it! It wasn’t quite a 5⭐️ and that’s only because I found the 2nd half stronger than the 1st. I loved Frankie’s story. Well done you

It’s always the nanny, or is it? Jasmine seems to be a blessing. As a nanny, she is a dream and perfectly anticipates Frankie’s needs. Frankie, dealing with a troublesome pregnancy, is not a fan of the overly eager nanny. She is convinced Jasmine has a hidden agenda. Is Jasmine nefarious, or simply misunderstood? This domestic thriller resembles a Lifetime movie in all of the best ways. Tension is high as secrets are revealed. The conclusion is both shocking and satisfying. Elizabeth Bower masterfully brings the story to life adding intrigue and a constant sense of foreboding. Thank you, NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for my audiobook.

Thank you Bookouture and NetGalley for an ALC (Advanced Listening Copy) of I'm Here to Help.

Unfortunately, this was a miss for me. I didn’t feel connected to the characters and only felt mildly interested in the plot/Frankie’s journey. I considered not finishing a couple of times. I feel like there were some plot holes that needed explanation as well.

I enjoyed the narrator for the most part however there were several times I was questioning if the main character was speaking aloud or if it was her inner monologue.

This worked so well I was immediately engrossed and like a good thriller it is not what you expect. The characters were well drawn out and I just had to keep listening as it was so engrossing. The narration was perfect.

Do I primarily read domestic thrillers? Yes
Do I love a good Lifetime movie? Yes
Did I use the movie The Hand That Rocks The Cradle in order to be a stay at home mom WITHOUT A NANNY? Uh, yes

I am a sucker for the genre with a sick mom, young kids, roaming eye husband and perky little nanny come to solve all the problem. This one had the addition of a really awful mother in law. Love it! Also trying really hard to not be that woman to my sweet daughter in law. Thanks books for teaching me who not to be.

I'm Here to Help on audio was fast-paced, a lot of moving parts, twists and turns and an ending I didn't see coming. Fast read and an absolute must for your beach bag this summer.

This book hooked me from the very first sentence. The storyline felt completely original—unlike anything I’d read before. Just when I thought I had it figured out, the twist proved me wrong.

I really admire the author’s creativity and how effortlessly they kept me invested in the characters’ lives from the moment they were introduced.

I was genuinely surprised to learn this was her debut novel when I went to add more of her books to my TBR list.

With gratitude to Netgalley & Bookouture Audio for this ELC in return for an honest review.

This was almost as I anticipated a relatively slow burn initially, but then things really take off, and this psychological thriller is precisely that. This is a genre I tend to listen to or have done most of essentially in the past, and it fits precisely in that category.

Frankie is expecting her 2nd child whilst she has a toddler at home and dealing with hyperemis making her extremely nauseous every day, there are possible further issues with her pregnancy meaning she really has to rest and take it easy. So when her husband Russ suggests a nanny, she comes around to the idea, although initially it doesn't sit well with her. Frankie wants to be healthy doing her own life with her family. Instead, she is going to have to take a backseat while someone else comes into her home and almost takes over.

Frankie never had the best relationship with her mother in law so when Jasmine the nanny seems to get on exceedingly well with her and everyone else, including her daughter, she really feels slighted.

There are various twists and turns that lead Frankie to sensing something is very wrong with this set up and of course immediately she believes there is a problem with the nanny who was simply there to help or was she..? Is it possible that she has a hidden agenda or is someone else behind the issues Frankie faces...

This was well narrated. It flowed well with all characters being easily disnguishable and brought something different in their own way to the storyline. There were moments where I began to think could this be what's happening or that as we all often do with these types of genre however it kept me intrigued and invested throughout.

Good luck & best wishes with publication on 11th April 2025 🙏🏼❤️📚🎧

I really enjoyed that this book kept me guessing. I went into it thoroughly expecting one outcome and kept having to second-guess whether that was actually happening or not.

Frankie, who is struggling with her pregnancy with her second child has a tumultuous relationship with her mother in law, but takes her up on the offer to employ a nanny for her eldest while Frankie is having a rough go. While Frankie doesn't love the idea, she tries to accept the help but from the moment Jasmine shows up, Frankie is suspicious. She thinks Jasmine is trying to make her daughter like her more, thinks Jasmine is trying to steal her husband, and absolutely hates that her mother in law seems to adore her. What is Jasmines real motive here?

The book is fast-paced and suspenseful, it really makes you want to push through and finish the book because it always feels like something is on the verge of happening, and it actually does. This would be such a great vacation read, a mental escape that keeps your brain working right up until that last twist.

The narration by Elizabeth Bower was fantastic, thanks to NetGalley for an audio arc.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Bookouture audio for my copy of I'm Here to Help by Claire Lunn
Narrated by Elizabeth Bower in exchange for an honest review. It publishes April 11, 2025.
First off, Elizabeth Bower is such a talented narrator, I will definitely be watching for more of her work.
Oh my goodness, I think I listened to this book in under 48 hours. I was GRIPPED. I couldn’t stop thinking about this book, and my house is so clean, because I could not stop listening to it. It’s been awhile since a book had me that captivated.
The twists and turns had me absolutely shocked, but not in a way that made it ridiculous or distracted. It was a perfectly threaded masterpiece!
I also really appreciated that a trigger warning was added to the beginning.

I’m Here to Help is a fast-paced domestic thriller. I enjoyed the dual point of views that unraveled the mystery as we made our way through the book. In some ways, this was predictable, but had a nice twist on a common thriller theme. The characters all had flaws and made questionable choices which left you guessing who was really at fault throughout the novel.
The narrator, Elizabeth Bower, did a fabulous job giving different voices to all of the characters. The narrator can really make or break a novel, and this narrator made it.
Thank you Bookouture Audio and NetGalley for this ARC. All opinions are my own.
