A fun workplace romance! I enjoyed the romance and comedy, as well as the medical aspect of the story! I do wish Tilly had more of a character arc though. But a cute fluffy read nonetheless and I recommend!

I love a good workplace romance - especially when it starts off by giving me Grey’s Anatomy vibes! But this one really fell short.
I felt like everything between the characters was so rushed, and there was a LOT of emotional immaturity in everyone. That makes connecting to the characters and stories very difficult.
I was also expecting “more” in the s*x scenes, but these were just barely brushed over and then moved on from.

Tilly works in A&E at the hospital doing shift work. She meets a man that she seems to really like and spends a lot of time with him when he isn’t taking care of his sick mother.
Eventually we learn that his mother isn’t actually sick and that he has a wife at home with a baby on the way.
During this time Tilly has a patient that tried to commit suicide, and his son coming in to take care of him until he’s released. Tilly ends up spending a lot of time with the patient, and eventually once he leaves, he invites her over for Sunday dinners.
Tilly and Will hit it off and end up falling in love.

I’ll start off by saying that the author did a great job with the characters in this book because the main character of Tilly is someone many readers can relate to. I liked reading her story and about her personal life and adventures in her workplace. It was interesting to read about some of the cases they had to tend to in their ward. Unfortunately what didn’t work for me was the plot; the story seemed all over the place with too many storylines and pacing issues. There were scenes when it felt like it was constantly describing what was happening versus showing not telling. I also thought the romance was too slow at first and suddenly it felt too rushed and before you knew it the book was over. I wanted this to be a high rated book especially since I had the privilege of reading the authors previous book: Hook, Line and Single which I loved! I think with some more editing and revisions this has the potential to be a very successful book but as it is now it just fell flat for me sadly.

“Love, Accidentally” is a rom-com by Phoebe MacLeod. This book follows Tilly, an A&E (Emergency Room for those in the US) nurse. Tilly falls in insta-lust with new junior doctor, Luke, and they are a couple quicker than quick. The romance fizzles out before 30% of the book is finished - bit of a surprise in a rom-com. Another character - at first minor - becomes Tilly’s potential love interest - but is it reciprocated? There were a number of things to like in this book - the banter between Tilly and Dr. Patel was great as sometimes you need dry wit to get through a medical shift and the hospital setting was also interesting. I found some of the dialogue a bit awkwardly stiff - or maybe not sounding like actual conversations, but maybe that’s just me. Overall, this was a quick read - not great, not bad - but I’m not sure in a few weeks I’ll remember it. However, for quick escapism and a quick read, this was pretty good.

This book follows Tilly a young nurse working in A&E (british for ER) and her dating life. A new doctor -Luke- starts working in A&E and asks her out. They start a relationship but Luke also has his elderly mother he has to take care of... or does he?
I liked reading the story and following Tilly in her workplace and private life. It was very entertaining to read about some of the cases they had to treat in A&E. I really liked Tilly's character but I couldn't really relate to most of the other characters in the book. I also thought that the relationship part was too slow burn at first and then it was very hurried: like first kiss and boom - epilogue.
Still it was an entertaining and funny book.

Love Accidentally
Love, Accidentally follows the story of Tilly, an A&E (emergency department) nurse. As an ED nurse myself, I jumped at the chance to read this romance novel!
I loved many of the characters in this story, & I would love to hang out with Tilly. She’s a badass nurse, she’s fiercely loyal and kind, & a little bit messy (like many of us ER nurses, haha). Phoebe MacLeod nailed that part.
As far as the plot goes, I found this book to be all over the place, much like a busy emergency department. I felt that there was too many story lines, & loose endings to tie up, causing the last third of the book to flatline. I almost signed out AMA, but Tilly convinced me to stay.
Code status: DNR.

Love, Accidentally by Phoebe MacLeod aspires to be a lighthearted romantic comedy, but it falls short of delivering a compelling narrative. The premise holds promise, yet the execution lacks the depth and charm needed to engage readers fully. The storyline feels rushed, and the characters are not sufficiently developed to elicit empathy or investment in their journey.
The dialogue often comes across as forced, lacking the wit and authenticity that could have brought the characters to life. Interactions between protagonists feel scripted rather than organic, making it difficult to believe in their chemistry or root for their relationship. Additionally, the plot relies heavily on clichés without offering a fresh perspective, resulting in a predictable and uninspiring read.
While MacLeod has demonstrated her ability to craft engaging stories in her other works, Love, Accidentally does not showcase her strengths. The novel's shortcomings in character development and narrative originality make it a less satisfying experience compared to her previous books. For readers new to MacLeod's writing, this may not be the best introduction to her storytelling capabilities.

This was a fun read that I got through in a couple of sittings. The predictable outcome with the main love interest didn't detract from reading how it developed. I might liked to have seen more of a comeuppance for the terrible doctor but that might be outwith the Romance genre tropes.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.

"Love, Accidentally" by Phoebe MacLeod is a delightful romantic comedy that takes readers on a fun and heartwarming journey. The story revolves around Tilly, an accident and emergency room nurse, who finds herself questioning her single life when her surroundings change. The introduction of Dr. Luke brings excitement and distraction to Tilly's world, but as they grow closer, she begins to question if he is the right fit for her. MacLeod’s writing style is engaging, filled with humor, and relatable characters that will keep you hooked until the end. With a perfect blend of romance and comedy. Thank you for the early Arc!

I enjoyed this, it was a quick easy read, whilst lying on a sun lounger and enjoying the amazing weather.
Tilly and her sister Tash were great, and I also enjoyed the characters of Will and his father. Not so much the girl’s mother, she was definitely too OTT for me

A lighthearted, brilliantly written book with a fabulous cast of characters. I did find it a story of two halves and it took me a minute to get into but once I did the pages flew by. With plenty of chemistry and tummy tumbling moments to satisfy any romance addict i would highly recommend for fans of Portia Macintosh, Maxine Morrey and Christy Mckellen.

It's rare for me not to have many thoughts on things, but well, here we are.
This is not a feel-good romantic comedy. This is medical/general drama with some mentions of romantic relationships. I feel lied to, which I don't particularly enjoy, so I can't rate it more than 3/5, even though the writing itself is decent and quite interesting. It did the same number that "The Switch" by Beth O'Leary did (I'm still sore about that). The romance is so unimportant that it's barely described compared to everything else, so even when you actually get to it, you get so little - and it's so general - that it's kind of sad. I wouldn't call this a romance, or at least wouldn't paint it as the main genre.
I think the author would make a fun scriptwriter for medical TV series, because that's what I enjoyed the most - the drama, the cases, the relations between employees. The rest is kind of meh, I'm sorry.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me the ARC!

I wanted this to be good but it just…wasn’t. Too many plots, pacing issues, whiplash between characters, etc. Yes, this is fiction but somethings were too outrageous. One of those books where it feels like they need to constantly tell you what’s going and tell you how people are feeling instead of showing you or getting any feelings about it.

This was a quick and easy read but I’m sorry to say it just didn’t work for me.

Love, Accidentally-Phoebe Mac Leod
Tilly isn't necessarily looking for love when the new doctor, the dashing Dr Milne, walks into her life. Swept up in a whirlwind of romance and lust, Tilly is happy. Isnt she? Her mother is constantly reminding her about her biological clock as is her sister but her sister has her reservations about the wonderful Dr. Milne. Is there something more to Luke's story? Is he really as dreamy as he seems?
Tilly is a wonderful nurse, well respected by staff and beloved by patients and she unexpectedly finds a new friendship with an elderly gentleman called Jonathan, a patient she encounters in A and E. I love watching their friendship grow.
This is the second novel of Phoebe Mac Leod's that I have read and it was a truly delightful, escapist read.
My favourite character has to be my namesake, Sarah, Mike's girlfriend. She is a no nonsense, strong, funny and wise character. She is loving but knows when hard truths are needed and when people need to be called on their BS. I love this about her. What you see is what you get with her.
Overall this was a lovely, easy escapist read. Finished it quite quickly.
A thank you as always to @netgalley for the opportunity to read this lovely ARC and to @theboldbookclub for approving me for this book.
I never take for granted, the gift of a good book.🙏

ER nurse Tilly doesn’t date at work. Until she meets Luke, the new Junior doctor who moved back to town to take care of his mother. Luke is everything she wants, at least on paper. But then Tilly discovers Luke isn’t all he portrayed himself to be.
Tilly doesn’t date patients. Until she meets Jonathan, a widower with a handsome son, Will. The course isn’t smooth, but Tilly learns to embrace the love that comes her way.

I want to say thank you to the author, the publisher and Netgalley for allowing me the privilege of reading this book.
This sounds bad it's not meant to it's just me being honest, when I received the e-arc the name sounded very familiar to me and I couldn't place it. Until I got halfway through and something's popped up and I had to check, and yes I have read this authors work before. Twice before actually, I'm not usually one for doing that usually it's hey have I already read this before kind of deal. That hurts a little, however I will say this was the best of all three I've read.
The problem is the issue I had pop up halfway through that made me Google in the first place. I didn't notice it at first, but I've realised that every time the actual end love comes into play the main characters conversations become extremely awkward like they've know each other forever and what comes out is really okay. When it real life if never even talk to my husband the way these main characters all seem to do. Along with the mother (I don't care about her relationship that seems awesome!) it's her attitude towards the main characters, in real life that's not how a parent shows love at all, and it's constant grating. Unlike the other works I've read by this author however those are my only hang up.
I loved the nursing bit and all of the staff interactions it was so well done! I love the two characters who end up coming into play they were amazing that's real life parenting relationship there! I loved the addition of disabilities and illnesses that were completely well incorporated. I genuinely loved this book, apart from the interest than relationship conversations and I really wished it was longer with more hospital interactions, they were hilarious and I loved the perspective of them all, and more time to actually draw out the end. The relationship got rushed through really fast and I just wanted to see more there, really see them come together rather than kind just bam were everything now. I wanted it to keep going.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me the privilege of reading this book, I loved it!

This was not a favorite of mine. I also agree with other reviewers that this could be two novellas rather than one whole book. The story felt a little lost as if the author didn't really know where to go. It did have some good moments that made me chuckle but I feel like MacLeod added too much in this book that led to it feeling overwhelming.

I really enjoy hospital romances. Must be all the Grey's I have watched! This was charming and exciting. MacLeod told a really flirty story. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

2.5* Rounded Up
I feel like this may have been better as two short stories. I don't know that I've ever felt that way about a book, but it read that way to me. The kind where you finish one and want to know what happens next. I wasn't really sure where the story was heading when it wrapped up about halfway through with the initial story of Tilly and Luke the Louse. The second half was sweeter and I think I wanted more of that...more of THEM (I won't say the names here).
I did enjoy the comedic aspects of this...I mean literally it opens where someone showing up at the A&E (read: ED/ER in North America) needing bolt cutters to take off a DIY version of a cock ring...hysterical! Dr Patel's character also added humor . Overall I think maybe too much was packed into this novel that it made it a little disjointed. I do enjoy Phoebe MacLeod and await her next book, but this one was not my fave. I think I was expecting more of an ER/Grey's Anatomy romance the way it began. I liked how it ended for Tilly...and also some more patient comedy because we needed to have this come full circle! This was a quick palate cleanser for me after a heavier read.
