I finished reading this and unfortunately, as the storyline progressed, I find the characters too perfect. I need for them to be flawed in some way to be able to love this book. I’d give this book 2.5/5 stars!

I absolutely adore a good time travel romance, and this book fits the bill. I loved Bella and Ben together and their story was adorable. I thought it was a nice touch that they research time travel by watching lots of time travel movies.
What I Liked:
- Despite being from 200 years ago, Ben was surprisingly willing to accept lots of changes in the modern world compared to what he’s used to.
- The humor throughout this book was great, especially the times that Bella says “Duke” or “my lord” and her dog, named Duke, responds instead of Ben.
- Bella as a character is resilient. She leaves her home and travels across the world to a country where the language that’s spoken isn’t her first language and she knows no one. Ben is also resilient because he time travels to a world that is so different from what he’s familiar with and he takes everything that’s happened to him with grace.
What I Didn’t Like:
- I would have liked to seen more of the connections between Bella and her family. I feel like we got to know more about Ben’s family, even though they’re basically only mentioned in flashbacks. Bella’s grandparents are mentioned almost as afterthoughts and we don’t even learn her stepfather’s name until the very end of the book.
- I recognize that this is the author’s first english language book, however there were some sections that would have benefitted from revision. At parts the language felt stilted and awkward, which made it harder to feel immersed in the story. Other parts of the story read smoothly, so I’m not sure if this was intentional or not, but it didn’t really land with me.
Overall, this is a lovely time travel romance with humor and heart. Fans of the trope will enjoy it, and I appreciated how quick and easy it was to read.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC of this book!

A joyful, light-hearted read that I finished in one sitting. This is very much a Bridgerton meets Outlander type if story and if that doesn't convince you to read it, then I'll just tell you theres a corgi called Duke, and you can thank me later :)

oh a time travel romance. what a beautiful idea to come up with. and telling turned that idea into a beautiful book. when i first saw this book i assumed it would be a historical Duke esque romance. and i adore them. but this, this was totally different and won me over even more!
we have a Duke who is bound by duty. who suddenly finds himself flung into the future. into our time. haha can you imagine. no he cant either and lets just say it makes him all the more cute.
then we have our Isabella who is of our time. shes not living her best life and is currently struggling with writers block. when a Duke falls into her path what is she to do? what would you do? i felt so warmed by her response to him. she was so kind and patient and also so curious with him. she tried her best to show him how to use the tech of today which was a giggle to read about.
Benjamin was curious but also a little startled and together they gave and received kindness in equal measure. i must admit i didnt want Isabella to help him find a way home. they were so sweet together.
Stefany wrote this story to perfection. i cant believe just how she got me so invested in this pair. but i was all sort of emotional towards the end wondering what would happen. because how can they ever overcome both timelines. how can they ever be ok in eachother world and would it be cruel for either to try?
ooooo read to find out.

Falling on a Duke by Stephany Nunes is a cute time travel romance about Ben and Bella. Ben is a 19th century gentleman, a Duke, while Bella is a 21st century woman and a writer. The story is cute, but it has heart and you can't help falling in love with Ben and Bella's story. Or, at least, I couldn't. I enjoy time travel and the time travel in this book was light and fun, with a lovely happy ending.

The characters in this book are lovely. Both of them are appealing and have heart. Isabella (Bella) is a writer suffering a broken heart. Her bad relationship with her ex is a nice foil for her relationship with Ben. Ben is proper and loyal, and you feel for his struggle over his sister's well being. Their romance is paced just right and though they try to fight it, they fall in love.
The plot is fairly simple. He accidently travels through time using a trinket his grandmother has given him before her death and he doesn't know how to get home. Bella, having caused an accident that she believes harmed him, takes him in and cares for him while he recovers. Eventually, through a series of events, she comes to believe he is who he says he is and helps him try to get home. I won't spoil it, but the book does have a happy ending, though Nunes leaves you in doubt of that for a little bit.
Overall, very cute story! I would definitely read more from this author. I recommend this book for anyone who enjoys cozy romances and time travel.

Such a lighthearted, cute read!
Admittedly, historical romances are not my go-to, but loved this one! Combining with modern day was a cute tale, and just begged for the perfect HEA! Definitely recommend for a cute read.
Thank you Book Guild Publishing & NetGalley for the ARC!

This story is light and fluffy, but not in a bad way. There's time travel, a handsome Duke and some spicy scenes. Definitely a fun escape read.

First off, I need to say how incredibly lucky I feel to have gotten an ARC of this book. The Stefany's writing is just...magic. The whole story is just so beautiful and unique, it felt like nothing I've ever read before, I felt completely immersed in the world Stefany created, both past and present.
What I really really loved was Benjamin. He's this proper, duty bound Duke, but underneath that, he's so wonderfully curious. Imagine being ripped from your own time and thrown into the 21st century! His fascination with everything, his genuine desire to understand this strange new world, was so endearing. I was totally invested in his journey, his confusion, and his slow, hesitant steps towards understanding.
And then there's Isabella. She's been hurt, she's struggling with writer’s block and then BAM, a Duke from the past crashes (literally) into her life. I loved how she took him under her wing. She didn't treat him like a crazy person, but instead was kind and patient. She helped him navigate this confusing time, figuring out everything from smartphones to slang, and trying to help him find a way back home. Watching their connection grow was so sweet and natural.
Stefany did such a wonderful job of developing the connection between Isabella and Benjamin. Even though they come from completely different timelines, their love felt so real, so deep and so beautifully inevitable.
I was on the edge of my seat, wondering how they would overcome the impossible distance between them. Would Benjamin stay? Could Isabella leave everything behind? Stefany made me genuinely care about their happiness and I was a blubbering mess by the end!

REVIEW: Falling on a Duke
Falling on a Duke is a short and cute time travel romance. With a duke from the 19th century named Benjamin, who finds an old necklace from his grandmother, he wishes to escape from the problems currently plaguing him. He ends up being hit by romance writer Isabella's scooter. As they work together to get Benjamin back to his time, chemistry sparks between them. Will Benjamin get home in his own time? Will Isabella get over her romance writing block?
Falling on a Duke is a perfect book if you're looking for something lighthearted, cute, and funny in a romance with a time travel element. I have always been a sucker for time travel book and this hit the mark. The main characters and their development within the story are great. Benjamin, being the lost Duke in current times, made it fun to discover things through his point of view. Isabella, being a romance author stuck in writer's block, adds so many layers to the romance. Their chemistry together is so apparent and kept me wanting more. This story struck a great balance between sweet and romantic, along with some spicy scenes as well.
Several moments seem unrealistic in Falling on the Duke; one example is how quickly Benjamin adjusts to the time. I don't think it hindered the story, especially since the book was more focused on the romance.
Overall, I really enjoyed Falling on a Duke. I like the warm fuzzies as well as the heat this story gave me. This is a great light and quick read for any romance lover.

Falling on a Duke by Stefany Nunes.
"Falling on a Duke" is a delightful, lighthearted time travel romance that whisks readers away to 19th-century England and modern-day London. The story follows Benjamin, the Duke of Waldorf, as he's transported 200 years into the future and meets Isabella, a struggling writer.
This charming novel is a perfect palate cleanser after heavier reads, offering a sweet and uplifting escape. The chemistry between Benjamin and Isabella is undeniable, and their romance is both adorable and endearing.
While the story may have a few minor flaws, such as Benjamin's rapid adjustment to the future, the author's writing style and character development shine through. The title may have caused some initial confusion, but it ultimately adds to the story's charm.
Overall, "Falling on a Duke" is a heartwarming romance with a satisfying happy ending. Fans of lighthearted, feel-good reads will enjoy this sweet tale of love transcending time.

ya know that excitement and thrill you got in 2014 on wattpad at 3am when you should’ve been sleeping? yeah, it was that kind of feeling the WHOLE read.
we follow a duke, Benjamin, from 19th century England that accidentally sends him into the modern day world, who crashed into our fmc, Bella.
tropes we see:
- time travel
- forbidden romance
- forced proximity
- romance author fmc/duke mmc

This book was so sweet! It is a time travel historical romance book. The banter and chemistry was so good in this book.

Falling on a Duke is a light, engaging time-travel romance that is charming. The chemistry between Benjamin and Isabella stands out, and the dog adds to the book’s appeal. The pacing and tone kept me engaged and the romantic storyline was sweet with a touch of spice. The London setting was well depicted. Overall a good read.

19th-century England. Benjamin Gerard Waldorf, the Duke of Waldorf, has resigned himself to a life of duty and responsibility. But when an antique cameo unexpectedly transports him 200 years into the future, his world is turned upside down.Isabella Souza Kato, a struggling writer in London, is grappling with creative block after a painful breakup. Just as she’s ready to give up on love, a chance encounter with a man claiming to be from the 1800s alters her life completely. As they navigate the complexities of time, culture, and their own hearts, Benjamin and Isabella must confront their fears and insecurities if they want to find a future together. Will Benjamin find a way back to his rightful place, or will he choose to forge a new path with Isabella?
Bella has an incredibly kind heart and creative brain. I loved seeing her express herself without boundaries because it allowed the reader to get to know her quickly - meaning we got background information off the bat and we got to grow with her character. The kindness knows no limits and seeing her be so patient and giving with Ben was so heartwarming. I think nowadays, we are disillusioned to wanting to help others. We offer a little bit and that’s it. I loved that Bella gave all she could to ensure Ben’s comfort - even if it meant she’s be in pain and lose out.
Dear Benjamin… it was certainly interesting watching you integrate into twenty first century life! He’s such a great character who has the slight aloofness that comes with his title, but he is quickly grounded with Bella’s actions. I really liked seeing him enamoured with her, but not rushing anything. With his past - which he has been honest about! - of being a more debauched character, he could have very easily taken advantage. But Ben never even considered it an option. He is such a sweetheart who cares so much for others that he merely wants the best for them and will do anything to achieve it. Can I have a time travelling Duke please?
Having loved Outlander, I am always going to jump at the chance to read a time travel romance - and it is even better when it’s the male main character that gets pulled to the future! Heaven forbid if he sees someone’s ankles! The plot was funny and had a great flow. I found time whizzing by as I read this and was thrilled to be immersed! I like that we saw active efforts to return Ben to his time and that they were both proactive, not just spinning in circles or making dumb comments. The characters felt brilliant. A lot of the focus does remain on our main duo but it works really well. I like that we get little glimpses of other people and then bigger scenes with them too, but there’s something that works so brilliantly about them mainly being in the background! The romance here was incredibly sweet. I liked that there was strong mutual attraction from the beginning but that it wasn’t insta love. My enjoyment with a story drops when we have love at “first sight” because it’s more obsession. But here, oh it’s fantastic seeing the bond between our duo grow and blossom. And the spicy moments reflect that too. There’s some delightful dirty talk and sinful looks, but the emotions win out and they are so soft with each other my heart may have melted. And the ending? Oh, that was absolute perfection. So driven with emotion and fervour, I couldn’t have asked for anything better!
Overall, Falling on a Duke is a book that pleasantly surprised me and I definitely recommend!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Thank you, Stefany Nunes and NetGalley, for this eARC.
Falling on a Duke oscillates between the past and present, and the real and imagination. It is lighthearted and quirky, yet it addresses the harsh reality of everyday life. With themes of grief, duty, equality and longing for connection, this book tells the story of two lovers set in the romantic landscape of England.
Isabella Souza Kato comes fresh out of a rather toxic relationship and is now struggling with excruciating writer's block. Trying to balance two jobs to afford her small apartment that she shares with her friend and Duke the dog, Isabella lives quite an ordinary life. Until one day, she hits a man with on her scooter and is struck by guilt (and awe). Isabella is kind, romantic, and funny, and her struggles make her relatable to readers.
Travelling to 19th-century England, we're introduced to Benjamin Gerard Waldorf, the Duke of Waldorf. It's like we're transported into the world of Jane Austen, which, to be fair, Benjamin claimed to have known. As a second son, he never had to deal with family duties. Instead, he was a real roke. However, we also get to know his tender side. His love for his family and strong moral compass make Benjamin an ideal love interest. When he finds his grandmother's family heirloom, he gets transported to the future, and that is the moment the love story begins.
Overall, the story is predictable with lots of contemporary references. Not to say that it's boring. Stefany Nunes manages to turn these classic elements gripping enough to read further- Bonus points for the dog. While Isabella helps Benjamin find a way back, Benjamin helps Isabella with her writer's block. At first, I thought that it would be a clean romance, with the light-heartedness and ease with which the story is written. However, as the story develops and romance brews between our main characters, some spicy scenes break certain taboos on sex and lust. Readers like to read smut; no need to feel weird about it!
Aside from romance, there are also some serious themes. Women's inequality in the 19th century is discussed, as well as heartbreak and insecurities.
Overall, I think that this story balances perfectly a swoony rom-com with mature elements of life. It transcends time literally and gives thoughtful insight into modern society and Victorian England society. The pace of the plot, character development and romance all felt stable, making it a pleasurable read.

This was a cutesy book, unfortunately a little too cutesy. But it was enjoyable. I loved Ben doing his "rake" persona in the current world. he was sexy.

This one didn’t quite land for me. I usually enjoy romances that unfold slowly over time, and this felt a bit too rushed in the love department for my personal taste. The prose and dialogue weren’t quite my style either, though I will say the setting was lovely and well-done. The time-travel element added a unique twist, and Duke the corgi totally stole the show for me!
Appreciate the chance to read this—thanks to NetGalley and the publisher!

This book was… okay. Not bad, but not amazing either. I know it’s the author’s first English publication, and I think that shows a bit. The concept had potential—time-traveling duke meets modern woman? Yes, please! But something felt like it was missing.
One thing that really threw me off was how quickly Benjamin adapted to the 21st century. I get that it’s fiction, but the way he spoke sometimes felt too modern—then suddenly it would switch back to old-fashioned speech. It was a bit confusing and inconsistent. Also, considering men in his time were scandalized by an exposed ankle, the fact that he wasn’t completely shocked by modern fashion or behavior was kind of strange.
The book is only about 200 pages, but it felt longer than that. There was a lot of telling rather than showing, which made it harder to feel emotionally connected to the story. Even by the end, the characters still felt like strangers to me—I didn’t really know them or feel much chemistry.

thank you to the book guild and netgalley for access to an early readers edition of falling on a duke.
unfortunately, this one just wasn't for me. i think i prefer a slow burn set over a period of time in a romance and this one was too insta-lovey. the writing style and dialogue also just wasn't my fav but i enjoyed the settings of our novel. i thought the time-travel aspect was interesting and i particularly loved duke the corgi!

Thank you Netgalley, publisher and author for providing an ARC in exchange for a review! All thoughts and opinions are my own.
A sweet time travelling romance with some spice. "Falling on a Duke" is a quick (it's about 200 pages - shall we call it a novella, then?) and cute read. The premise was interesting: a 19th-century duke gets thrust into 2022, where he stumbles upon our lovely female main character, a Brazilian writer living in London. Ben and Bella fall in love while they try to find a way to send him back to his sister and his all life back in Bath. I wish they had talked more about how Ben was feeling regarding modern time (to which he adapted surprisingly quickly, both in his behaviour and speech) and there are a few anachronisms here and there but, overall, I enjoyed the book greatly.
