Four women accidentally meet in a snow bound airport and, bonding over desserts & prosecco, share their woes over the behaviour of their ex-boyfriends with each other. Agreeing that payback for their woes is needed, the Karma Club is born! Each of the four chooses one of the exes for their payback plan.

Paige was the first to start her campaign (The Payback Plan) and now it’s Bella’s turn. Bella’s target is Chase Miller, an artist who is opening a new art gallery in New York. Chase’s crime – he had a 6 month affair with Astrid but never told her he was married, until his wife turned up at the hotel they were staying at.

Bella applies for and gets the position of Head of Communications at the gallery and starts to carry out her plans. So far, so good. What Bella didn’t plan for was enjoying being so involved with the launch for the gallery and being part of the team behind it I enjoyed how sparks flew from the start of Bella and Chase’s meeting and especially how they started to bring out the best in each other. A thoroughly enjoyable, fun read.

Pippa Roscoe's "How to Get Even" serves up a lusciously enjoyable and incendiary romantic comedy that begins with socialite Bella Carmichael's heartbreak and propels her into an unlikely sisterhood: The Karma Club. Intent on getting even with her ex-fiancé, Bella finds her target changing to Chase Miller, the handsome and unscrupulous artist who betrayed her new sister.

Bella's scheme is brilliant: penetrate Chase's Manhattan art gallery, become irreplaceable, and quietly destroy his reputation. What she doesn't count on is the combustible, undeniable attraction that flares between them. As Bella and Chase engage in a war of wits, her meticulously crafted scheme of vengeance breaks down, exposing a part of her that she believed long gone – the flawed, fiery Bella. Roscoe expertly blends the excitement of the revenge story with the increasing attraction, making for a lively push-and-pull. When Bella's sabotage crosses the line, she finds Chase is not as one-dimensional as she thought, and she must shift from revenge to redemption. This novel is an enjoyable ride, enemies-to-lovers style with an original twist, and it shows that sometimes the best revenge is falling in love with your target.

This is the second book in a series. It might help the reader a bit to have read the first book, but this can also be a standalone, with insights into the first one.

Chase is the guy who is being set up for "Karma." He did wrong to one of the women in a friendship group who want to get back at the guys who broke their hearts. Bella is from a well off family, but who seems to have always been second best in any situation. She now has a chance to take over as communications director at a new, upscale art gallery. She has great ideas and she feels like she's dragging Chase along because his heart isn't in it. But she's also setting him up at the same time.

But as they get to know each other, they develop feelings for each other and understanding about their life circumstances. Very slow burn before they acknowledge their feelings.

I really enjoyed the book and the characters. Two more books left. I looking forward to reading them.

The beginning and ending of this book were super enjoyable to read, but the middle felt a bit boring and difficult to get through. Definitely worth it to push through the middle and keep reading to get to the ending.

The character development of Bella throughout the novel is great. You see her morph from always doing what is expected of her to standing up for herself and speaking her own mind. It was especially wonderful to see her share her feelings with her parents at the end about how they treated her over the years. We also see similar character development with Chase in the book as he works through some of his baggage from his parents and first marriage.

If you love a book that with emotional character development and a few laughs, then it's worth it to read this book.

A slow burn but a book with some spice! Bella very kindly gives up her seat on a plane for a grandmother and while waiting for another flight, she meets a small group of women who all decide to get revenge on their ex’s! Bella is paired with Chance and to begin with, I didn’t like him. However, as the book progresses and you get to know him, you find out not is all what it seems! This book covers enemies to lovers, workplace romance and second chances! I really enjoyed this and looking forward to reading more books by Pippa!

How To Get Even

🌟🌟🌟🌟

This is the second book in The Karma Club series which sounded like so much fun!
4 interconnected books written by different authors which follow the lives of these 4 strangers brought together by past relationship traumas.
You may have seen my review for book 1 - The Payback Plan by Amy Andrews - back in April.

In this book we follow Bella's story, as she embarks on her plan to exact revenge on one of the Karma Club ladies' ex partner, who was a cheater!

I was really intrigued about how these books would work as part of the series and connect together or not - especially being written by the different authors with different writing styles etc.

Well, this worked so well and flowed seamlessly on from the other book.
It was really interesting to see that this book was set around the same time as book 1 so there were some elements here, that we already knew about and this helped to keep that connection in mind.

I loved Bella's story.
I think by now, we're getting the idea that as the ladies plan their revenge, they're pretty much inevitably going to fall for their victim, so I had that in mind as I was reading, which just made the journey even more fun!

I loved the way Bella worked so hard and was so determined, but we could see this change in her slowly emerging until we finally discover the real, free Bella - helped out into the open by Chase.

This book had all the feels, there were some really funny moments but then the next minute, I had a tear in my eye, swiftly shifting to those spicy episodes.
This was a rollercoaster.

It was great to see Chase's story come to light and his redemption was sweet!
A real lesson for us all to not judge a person before we know all sides!
And that people often deserve a second chance!?

I'm so excited to read the third book and hear Astrid's story - review coming in June!!

⭐3.75. The second book of the Karma Club series. Four women randomly meet at an airport, and after champagne and sugary treats, concoct plans to seek revenge upon each others' exes. Book 1 was Paige with Bella's ex, Olly. In this book, Bella is exacting revenge upon Chase, Astrid's ex. I can't wait to read the next two women's stories!

Each of these stories seems to be running at the same time as the others. I found it really interesting how what I thought I knew of the happenings of Bella's story, from Paige's perspective in book 1, was actually very different from what I read in this book.

Bella is one great, ruthless mastermind saboteur. It's both the little things she gets up to, and also the big things. The twist that happens though, and then the pivot afterwards kept things very interesting.

I liked both Bella and Chase's characters and how each had their own issues to deal with, but that they helped each other prepare to face those issues head on. Chase with his artistic block and always hiding from his emotions, and Bella's identity crisis on what she wanted for her future and how she presented herself to the world. "[...]he wanted to see what Bella was like when she made ripples. When she tried to. Now, that would be something."

I don't necessarily understand or get art, but I sure did like reading about the art world in this fun romance!

My favourite in this book: the hedge incident with Astrid 🤣

"We go down with the ship." "We go down with the ship. Are you sure it's not on?" "Yes." lololol

One negative critique: the story is dual POV, but I found sometimes there was no obvious point where it would switch. Sometimes, mid-chapter, with no breaks, or would switch. It threw me off quite a bit.

This is a fun, flirty read that blends revenge, romance, and redemption with a refreshing sense of humour - I have to be honest, I did have a couple of good giggles while reading it. Pippa Roscoe crafts a compelling story around Bella, a woman scorned who joins forces with other jilted women to form The Karma Club. She is on a mission to bring down the seemingly heartless Chase while discovering that he may not be the villain she expected after-all.

The book is full of witty dialogue, slow-burn chemistry, and strong female friendships which I absolutely love. I really loved Bella’s personal growth and development as a character. I absolutely loved that it’s all about letting go of grudges, second chances and of course - finding love in the most unexpected places. This book is perfect for fans of enemies-to-lovers romance.

I really enjoyed this book, I just loved the friendship that Bella had with all the girls but also with the work relationships that she had as well. I just loved Maurice, Ali and Ye-Joon as despite all their different personalities they all got on really well and it was really heartwarming. I liked that Bella got to know the real Chase and also helped him be better with his dad as his dad is a sweet man that I would have loved to have met. I found this book very heartwarming and heartbreaking which made it all the better for me.

I would highly recommend reading this book if you love a heartwarming and heartbreaking read with wonderful characters.

I really look forward to the next book in this series.

I would like to thank Boldwood Books and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book early.

Book 2 of the Karma Club series is just as delicious as the first installment.
This time it's Bella's turn to exact revenge. Too bad she is slowly falling for her intended target, Chase...
"How To Get Even" is a fun and light-hearted enemies-to-lovers romance, perfect for fans of "The First Wives Club". I cannot wait for the next two books in the series.

As part of the Karma club, Bella is supposed to get even with Chase. But all is not as it seems, only realised after she almost ruins him. What will happen when he finds out the truth about how Bella came in to his life? I liked how it was told from both points of view.

This is book 2 in The Karma Club series, and I was really interested in seeing how the stories would blend, being written by different authors. Well I needn't have worried because there's no disappointment here in the writing! I thought they blended seamlessly with book 1. Its also interesting because the books are all set at the same time, just showing another of the ladies stories at that time. So we see some events that we were already aware of from the other side and I really like that.
This was the story of Bella exacting revenge on Chase, then realising that Chase wasn't totally mr bad guy and that Bella could do with being more missus bad Bella, which I loved.
There were plenty of funny moments, heartwarming moments, spicy moments, and emotional moments. This book will run the full gamut of your emotions.
I'm looking forward to reading Astrid's story next and seeing what's next for the Just Desserts gang!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is the first book I've read from the Karma Club series, and I maybe should have read book 1 first. It's a standalone, but it would benefit from being read in order.
I really like a girls' group and helping each other out, so I'm down for good old revenge pranks—especially annoying/harmless ones. I think Bella was a likeable character from the start, but it took a little warming up to Chase. I found they complemented each other perfectly by the end, and I enjoyed how the chemistry felt after about 50% of the book.

I guessed going into this that there was bound to be some miscommunication or problems that could have been resolved faster with better communication. I think the backlash was extreme, but Bella did go out for revenge after all. I did feel the pacing was slightly off. It took a good portion of the book for the romance to sizzle, but a slow burn never hurt anyone.
Overall, I would recommend this if you're looking for a fun, quick read.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC.

How to Get Even by Pippa Roscoe
Published by Boldwood Books

Thank you to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for the ARC.

Bella Carmichael’s world imploded when her fiancé left her at the altar, a moment that shattered her carefully curated life and sent her spiraling into self-doubt. But fate throws her a lifeline at an airport sweets shop called Just Desserts, where she meets three other women who’ve also been wrecked by love. Together, they form The Karma Club—a pact to get even by taking revenge on each other’s exes. Bella’s assignment: Chase Miller, the man who allegedly cheated on her new friend Astrid. The mission? Infiltrate his soon-to-open New York gallery, destroy his reputation from the inside out, and walk away like a queen.

What begins as petty sabotage—switching salt for sugar, subtle disruptions to Chase’s day—turns into something far more complicated. Bella doesn’t expect to be good at the job, or to actually like the people she’s working with, or to feel real chemistry with the man she’s supposed to ruin. And she definitely doesn’t expect to question the entire premise of her revenge when she learns Chase may not be the heartless liar he’s been made out to be. But the damage is already in motion, and Bella has to reckon with the consequences of a plan that might have gone too far.

Roscoe brings sharp wit and emotional depth to this enemies-to-lovers workplace romance, blending humor, heartbreak, and genuine vulnerability. Bella’s arc is the standout—watching her transition from a people-pleasing socialite to someone who finally puts herself first is one of the novel’s strongest elements. Her bond with the Karma Club women adds richness and a grounded sense of support, making this not just a love story, but a story about reclaiming identity, autonomy, and self-worth.

Chase is no generic brooding love interest—he’s flawed, guarded, and driven by past pain. His emotional walls take time to come down, and while the romance builds slowly, it feels earned. Roscoe doesn’t rush the connection; instead, she lets the tension simmer until the payoff feels both intimate and transformative.

Readers who loved The Hating Game, The Ex Hex, or The Love Hypothesis will find a lot to enjoy here: clever sabotage, opposites-attract energy, and smart emotional twists. That said, the third-person POV and slower pacing might be a challenge for readers used to faster, dual-POV romances in the first person. The spice is there, but it’s a slow burn—expect a late ignition rather than instant heat.

How to Get Even is a satisfying and emotionally intelligent romance about revenge, redemption, and the messiness in between. It’s about finding your voice, risking vulnerability, and letting go of who you were to become who you’re meant to be. Funny, fierce, and unexpectedly tender, it proves that karma doesn’t always come how you expect—but it just might give you what you need.

A fab second instalment in the karma club book series. I liked both of the main characters and learning more about them during this story. A nice romance story with a HEA and a little bit of spice!

The book starts with an airport scene, just like the first one(the payback plan) but this time with Bella as the narrator. She and her friends bond over their failed relationships and come up with a plan for payback—each one will go after someone else's ex.
Bella takes on Astrid’s ex, Chase, who had been married but never told Astrid—essentially making her the other woman.
Chase works as a gallery director at a space owned by his best friend, Tej. They’re in desperate need of a new communications director after the last one quit unexpectedly, leaving the gallery in chaos.
Bella steps into the role—with revenge on her mind. She’s ready to take down Chase.
She starts small—switching sugar with salt, moving desks, small things here and there. Then she finds a golden opportunity, enough to destroy Chase’s career. She executes it perfectly.
But there’s a twist: Chase is innocent of the things Astrid believed he did. And the truth comes out in the most unexpected way, after the damage is done.
Want to know what Bella did and how it all goes down? This series is turning out to be light, fun, and completely addictive.

3.5⭐️
I enjoyed this! I haven’t read the other books in the series, but this one can definitely be read as an interconnected standalone without feeling you’re missing something. It's written in third person, which is not my preference in a romance novel, but I didn't dislike it here and the dual POV made up for it in my opinion.

I loved the way the friend group meets at the airport and how they each take on a different ‘task’. This new friendship really helped in adding a layer of depth to Bella and her character. She has a realistic character arc throughout the book and I appreciated the realness and vulnerability of it.

As for the romance, Chase and Bella brought out the best in each other without pushing for change. I liked them as a couple and felt they worked well together. I did feel the pacing was a bit off though.. The first half of the book is very much about the revenge plot, whereas the second half is heavily focused on the romance: I would have liked to see a bit more romantic build-up from the start.

All in all, it’s not a new favorite but it was a fun read and I would recommend if you’re looking for something quick and easy!

Thank you Netgalley and Boldwood Books for providing me with an ARC for review! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

First off i want to thank NetGalley and author for this opportunity. So I did struggle a little to get into it besides work. I did like the first book and this one was fine but it was a little slow for me it wasn't bad just took me a while to really get into it. But besides that it was a good story. I will definitely keep reading the series for sure. Can't wait to start the next one.

I want to say thank you to the author the publisher and Netgalley for allowing me the privilege of being able to read this book.

I haven't read the other book in this series, which is fine! This works really well as an really good interconnected stand alone, as well as a series book. The author was fantastic at catching you up from the last book, that it made you feel like you weren't missing anything. I loved all of the characters, and their dynamic together. Everyone makes you feel like you found family reading this book, and I loved almost every minute of it (I will get to that). The story flows beautifully, I couldn't put it down. It was well thought out and very well paced. I love all the well thought out and tiny diabolical ways the FMC used to get at the MMC. On that note I really loved the dual pov, it worked flawlessly! The author was amazing at making you physically feel every feeling, nothing was too overdone or over the top, this was just a fantastically fun book! It was so liberating to read something genuinely fun, it's been a bit for me for that.

The only issue I had was him stepping away. I get the reason behind it, but the part with the kids was magical. I know it's an imaginary world but with him in that position it would have been perfect for him to stay on and do the other alongside. It could have completely worked so much better that way. Taking him away from it changed things a lot, where it didn't seem as much as it could have been before. I could say more I just don't want to spoil it. It was the biggest magic of the story to me. It just brought me down a little. But that's it, that's all I would have changed in this whole book. Apart from that and her explaining where she got the book (I would have loved to enjoy reading that it would have been hilarious!) I loved this book so much!

Thank you so very much from the bottom of my heart for allowing me the privilege of being able to read this book and fall in love with it, and all the fun and brightness it brought with it!

I really enjoyed the push and pull, frenemies to lovers vibe od this book. The FMC and MMC showed character growth, and overcoming some past traumas and learning to trust again after so many people let them both down. I enjoy the First Wives Club and Strangers on a Train vibe of this, and I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series!
