The fourteenth Mercy Thompson book takes place just after the incident with the Soul Taker, a magical artifact that damaged Mercy's access to the magical world. Though partly fixed, she's still suffering and on top of that, still being stalked by the evil vampire Bonarata, from a few books ago, but Mercy shoves this all aside when her half-brother, another of Coyote's half-human children, turns up in the Tri-Cities, unable to communicate because of a spell, but obviously in deep trouble. Mercy and her make - werewolf alpha, Adam - go rushing off into the depths of a Montana winter in an unusually vicious snowstorm, to find a Frost Giant who is responsible for the brother's condition, only to find that there's more to it than they first thought. Expect bad weather, an unusual wedding party with fae, a vampire and a ghost, a missing magical harp and, potentially, the end of the world unless Mercy can fix all this mess. Unfortunately, she can't even fix herself. As you might expect, Mercy goes through the mill, but, hey, the world doesn't end.

Another beautiful Mercy Thompson addition.

Patricia briggs is one of my queens of urban fantasy and she does not seem to be slowing down as the Adventures of Mercy and Adam just keep raising the stakes and getting better and better. 15 books in.

5/5 stars! This is the 14th entry in a series by author Patricia Briggs. You would think by now I would be tired of her books, but I am not. Sign me the eff up. Mercy Thompson returns and has yet another world-ending disaster to avert. I love that she has Adam to support her now. Yes; she's a bada** but having her partner there made me smile. I'll take 65 more please.

I loved this! When I requested this, I didn't see that it was book 14 in the series. However, it's a testament to Patricia Briggs' writing skills, that at no point did I feel I was missing information or backstory to what was happening as it was explained each time. This was a fantastic story that I raced through in a day. Mercy and Adam are great, strong characters and there was so much action. I'm now going to get the other 13 books in the series - I really need to read them!
Thanks to Netgalley, Little Brown Book Group UK, and Patricia Briggs for the free copy. All opinions are my own.

I love this series and the latest book Winter Lost is fantastic!
As always Patricia Briggs has written a real page turner, be prepared for “just one more chapter” far too late nights!
