A surprising profound picture book that turns nothing into everything! Don't miss this cute story... from the very first page readers are invited into a world where nothing is happening - or is it?!

This book is about nothing. Absolutely nothing. Or is it? This is an extremely enjoyable read with beautiful illustrations. I think it is wonderful that it was written by someone so young! It really makes it more relatable to the kiddos that read it!

This book is about, nothing at all! Or is it? Because a book that is about absolutely nothing, isn't that a bit boring?
That's the big question within this adorable picture book. Each drawing is adorable and really brings the pages to life.
The story, on the other hand, is quite disappointing. The concept is a lot of fun and reminded me a bit of Book With No Pictures. But where there the concept was brought to life so nicely, I did not have that with this story. Yes it is a children's book but there is something missing and the wonderment of a child was lacking.

The book explores an interesting concept for children: the balance between nothing and everything, between being entertained and bored. The illustrations are excellent, keeping them wondering what will come up next.

What an adorable story! This is exactly the type of book that my 3yo son loves. He finds them so silly and engaging. I can't believe the age of this author! An amazing skill set to be able to write a great children's book at this age.
The story cleverly embraces the theme of "nothing" transforming into something vibrant and fun. As more characters enter the scene, it creates a lively and colorful scene filled with a dragon and a piano-playing unicorn.
The visual storytelling is great in this book. The illustrations perfectly captures the emotions and pacing of the story. It's a short book but perfect for kids who love books like "Don't Touch This Book." It's a perfect read aloud for storytime as well.

You know how you ask children what they did at school today, and their answer is always "nothing".... Well, you need to read this book to them! Marco Anderson's delightful story, This Book is About Nothing, is a charming story about a child who wants the story to be about absolutely nothing. The suitcase on the page has absolutely nothing in it and nothing to do with the story... or does it?
The whimsical illustrations add a layer of sweetness to a story that many kids will relate to. Is nothing really better than everything? Is it better to lay around and do nothing? Or... is a suitcase full of everything more of an adventure? Either way, this delightful story is sure to light up children's faces, and make them think twice before they answer "nothing" when asked what they did today...

The illustrations by Erica Salcedo are truly the highlight! They're super bright and fun, really eye-catching.
However, I have to say, the "nothing" in the title really sticks. While it's pitched as a funny story about an introverted 5-year-old making friends, I found myself wishing for a bit more substance. It felt like it was trying to be about a lot of things, and in the end, didn't quite land on a clear message or moral. It's a fun, colorful book, but don't go in expecting a deep lesson. It's a book that's truly about everything and nothing all at once.

Just read This Book is About Nothing by Marco Anderson with my kid, and... it was okay. The illustrations are super cute — honestly, that was our favorite part. Visually, it's a win. But the story itself didn’t really grab either of us. It kind of reminded me of The Book with No Pictures, which we loved, but this one didn’t quite have the same charm or humor.
It’s not a bad book, just not one we’d reach for again. Worth a look for the artwork though!

Is this book really about nothing? Or is it about everything? This is a wonderful picture book with creative illustrations that would be fun to use to start conversations.

This Book is About Nothing is a picture book where the makers play with the idea of nothing, boredom, and being interested in many things all at once.
The illustrations, especially, of the main character, are cute.
As for the idea and execution, I expected a unique take.
I will not be reviewing this publicly.

This Book is About Nothing by Marco Anderson is a playful and imaginative story about Rio, a quiet child whose wish for solitude is upended by a parade of fantastical characters. The book cleverly explores themes of introversion, friendship, and the unexpected joy of connection, with vibrant illustrations that mirror the growing energy of the story. It's a charming and relatable read for children learning to navigate social experiences. This book made me smile.

A book about nothing ?
I was rather curious about the concept! I suspected this nothing might soon transform into something. It will be no spoiler I’m sure if I tell you that indeed it does.
It turns out this book is really about friendship, music, rainbows, joy and imagination - not really about nothing at all, in the end…
This short and very sweet album amused my little boy no end. He was quite puzzled about the first few pages, I think he kept waiting for the punchline. He laughed out loud when the magical suitcase landed!
It was a great way to talk with him about being open to the unexpected, and accepting of unplanned but beautiful encounters.
He now requires I buy him ‘’the real book’’ as he was rather unimpressed with the pdf version. He wasn’t best pleased to learn he would have to wait until November…
I’m really looking forward to trying it out with my students as well. The language is very simple, crystal clear and should work great as an ESL support. Thanks Moon + Bird for letting me have an early read!

When we finished this my little one just looked at me and said "I didn't like that one".
The art was cute and great to look at but there's nothing else really to this one.

This book is about nothing! But nothing is actually something my 4 year old boy liked so much!
The drawings are lovely, the short little story is funny and thought provoking and cause for several good conversations with my kid.
I can honestly recommend this book for kids who like opposites, change their minds every now and then and enjoy some good old nonsense :)

Other books have done the "nothing" idea better. The art was cute, but that's the best thing I can say about it. It was not an interesting or creative take on unusual picture books. The child was way too easily convinced to change, and the "everything" was not actually that many things. It is okay for kids and adults to enjoy moments of quiet and nothingness.

Super cute storyline about a little boy and his big imagination. A very creative and clever story for young early readers. Enjoyable for at-home and in-class settings.

Thanks to Net Galley and Moon + Bird for the ARC! The author of this book is 12 years old and he did an amazing job! The illustrations pop off the page to life. I do like that it goes from only the main character on the page to other colorful things. I think the story was a bit too quick. I feel like a bit more characters/things could have been added to have a bit of a climax. Overall, I think it was a cute story!

This was so funny and silly. It would be a great read-aloud book. The illustrations were nice and vibrant. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for letting me read!

This review is about nothing - or is it about everything...?
Either way, there are benefits and downsides to being in the middle of nothing - and everything...
There were two things I really liked about this book.
One - the illustrations - particularly the piano-playing hairy thing.
Two - how the book doesn't say that nothing is better than everything, or the other way round.
It's a book to make you think - and there's everything good, and nothing bad, about that!

Bright illustrations & will get your imagination going! What will happen next?! Similar to other picture books with this same premise, but an enjoyable read.
