This was a very interesting read. I enjoyed it very much! Highly recommend it for those who can't get enough of Jennifer Armentrout

This is a cute little companion read for the From Blood and Ash franchise. I really enjoyed the art before each chapter and the little easter eggs sprinkled throughout the book. I really, really like the Miss Willa chapters... though I don't know what to think about her relationship with Viktor .....IYKYK . This book has no new information, but it adds layers and fun to the story already told.

I decided to listen to the audiobook while following along in the book.
While I don’t feel this book is the best option as an audiobook alone, I don’t think it deserves all the negative reviews so far. The title says it is a compendium, the summary states it “is a comprehensive companion guide for background, history, reader-favorite information, art, and reference materials.” I think it’s a great reference in addition to the other books. Combines all the characters, and info from the books in one place with descriptions. Adds some additional short stories from Willa’s POV.

This book was a fine companion for the series. I, personally, don't like Miss Willa's voice, so that was a bit of a miss for me, but the book is useful to catchup on the series if you've forgotten what's going on between the books. I wouldn't buy it, but it does it's job.

A good overview of the world but not totally necessary to read. The bonus chapters were the best part. I found myself skimming through most of it as I had recently read the series and it felt a bit redundant.

What a clear, informative, and well-organized guide to the characters,. locations, and any other pertinent aspects of the story to help readers pronounce everything correctly and not get lost in this fantasy world. Definitely a great companion to have side-by-side while reading the series.
The spicy scene at the end with Miss Willa was the perfect cherry on top.
Highly recommend.

While I initially skipped over this while reading the F&F and B&A series (I’m impatient) I’m glad I went back and gave this a shot! I love the exclusive chapters and the narration from Miss Willa…. I’m still waiting on her journal, by the way!
The art is lovely. The breakdowns are nice, especially for those who binge read everything that’s published and find themselves scrambling to refresh themselves before the newest release, like me!
I would say it’s a 3.5 from me. I’m greedy and I want more information! I hope another companion will be released to explain how Fall of Ruin and Wrath ties into the other two series!

Thank you to netgalley for providing this arc!
Unfortunately, it seems like we have 2 books in a row from this series that were both unnecessary, disappointing and not needed...

I'm obsessed with the blood and ash series but I actually skipped this book when I read it.
This what a good refresher on the entire series for when the new book eventually comes out! 10/10 would recommend reading this for a refresher cause I feel it doesn't add to the story line but it definitely gets you back up to date on everything that has happened and who everybody is!

Okay but Visions of Flesh and Blood?? Literal perfection. It’s like the ultimate love letter to Nyktos and Sera fans. Extra scenes, gorgeous art, and all the juicy lore—I’m obsessed. If you’re into the Flesh and Fire world, you need this on your shelf.

Finally. The reader is gifted with the source for Poppy's titillation and blushes.
Miss Willa's sensual romp thru the pages is laid out for the reader. So too are the meanings behind the phrases used by the characters and the beings that inhabit the book. A wonderful addition to the world building done by this incomparable romantasy author who is a pioneer in this genre.
This ARC was provided by the publisher, Blue Box Press, via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to Netgalley for this ARC.
This story was a recap of everything that has happened in the Blood and Ash and Fire and Flesh series so far.
We got some bonus chapters from both series, some POV from extras characters and some fun stories.
However, I feel this didn't move the storyline along- it was a similar vibe to A Soul of Ash and Blood, which basically was Cas retelling the story from his POV but with nothing new to add.
I think the the series has been super dragged out at this point and I just want the conclusion. Also noting this book was over 500 pages which is a big boy for essentially no new information.

This is a book I’ve been waiting for for a long time! And it definitely lived up to my expectations. Loved it. A definite must read

I fear I am obsessed with this series and I cannot wait for more from this author!
Thank you NetGalley for this arc!

I liked this book as a quick review of all the books I read as a way to get me refreshed and ready to read the upcoming new books in the series as I had finished the Flesh and Fire and From Blood and Ash series almost a year ago. I love how two separate series have been interwoven, with their separate love stories and epic wars.
I can’t wait for the Primal of Blood and Bond in June! One day, I hope I can join the author’s ARC group.
My only negative comment is that I had bee. Hoping that this was more spicy because of the main voice… but it was not as tantalizing as the books.

Solid database of information for the series for the fans and those just getting into it. TBH it would be great to have something similar to this for Fourth Wing because goodness knows there’s a lot going on by Onyx Storm.
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read.

Oh the scandal!!!! Miss Willa is a legendary icon and ahhh, I just love her.
Not only is the artwork throughout absolutely stunning but this the perfect compendium for both the Blood and Ash and Flesh and Fire series. This definitely helps readers pick up where they left off or even catch them up on previous books before the next in the series is released - thus relieving the stress of having to do a full reread!
I loved the bonus chapters we received but my favourite parts are the diary entries from Miss Willa - her and Vikter!?!?! Whaaaat!!!!???? I was kicking my legs!!!
Absolutely brilliant and perfect for fans of both series!

Visions of Flesh and Blood is a great resource for fans of the series—packed with details, world-building insights, and extra content that deepens the overall story. That said, it did feel like a lot of filler at times. While it’s fun to revisit the world, some parts dragged and didn’t add much beyond what we already know. Still, a solid addition for die-hard fans looking to immerse themselves further.
Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC.

Absolutely love everything about this compendium. I have been a huge fan of this series, and this is quite the treat if you are a fan. I can’t recommend it enough!

Honestlyyyyyy I’m getting serious fatigue with this whole series because of all the fluff JLA is putting out. It just feels like the series got popular so they’re padding it out and trying to get as many saleable products out of it before the conclusion.
This book is entirely unnecessary. It is a glossary that reads like those online fan wikis - that you can read for free. In between there are a handful of bonus scenes, none of which add to the plot and are the kind of bonus chapters you’d expect to see on an authors website, again, FOR FREE.
This was just exhausting. Please, for the love of god JLA, just write the story. No more alternate POV rehashes, no more random fluff, just TELL THE STORY.
