The Casper books are a delight for the younger reader. Not only do they have great adventures for the little cat but they also tell a story with a message. But the message is subtle and entertaining. This time Casper wants to find his way home from his time with the pangolins. He gets turned around again and instead of finding his way home, he discovers a baby elephant who is in distress. Small in stature but brave in heart, Casper sets about saving the “little” guy. In the process we learn more about nature and some of the dangers facing it and what we can do to turn things around.

The artwork is adorable and adds just the right touch to a charming tale. Five purrs and two paws up.

When the African bush becomes just a little less scary for our brave and sassy feline heroine. After saying a tearful goodbye to her friends the Pangolins. Casper follows Obonye the Wise Owl’s directions to head east in order to get home. It’s not long before she stumbles into Bugle, a clumsy, cute and mischievous baby elephant.
I read this to my Great niece and she loved it especially the elephant which is one of her favourites. The illustrations are brilliant throughout this book. I ended up purchasing this book so her parents can carry on reading it to her.

The Incredible Adventures of Casper the Cat Who Got Lost in Africa: The Elephants by Jennifer Ussi tells of an incredible adventure for this cat just as the name implies. There are animals with interesting personalities much like children may encounter in their lives, along with humor. The problem is relatable. Also, the animal fact pages at the end are a surprising addition.

I read the book with my grandchildren. The second grader had only a few minor problems with a couple of bigger words. Of course, the fourth grader could read it with no problem. School age children will enjoy this story whether it is read aloud or independently. It is a chapter book so we did not read it in one sitting, but it was exciting so each afternoon they were ready to see what would happen next.

The colored illustrations were dispersed throughout the story at significant places fitting the event. For a child just beginning to read chapter book this is a great one. I will say that as a retired teacher I would have given it five stars, but both grandchildren insisted on 4 stars. Not wanting to give a spoiler, their main reason was the separation at the end. We did read the description of the next book, but they would not budge from their rating. I guess it is the sadness of being lost and alone that made them so strong in their opinion.

The information provided in the back of each book is great to help young readers learn about the world in a fun way.

It was a fun, informative read for young children. Book 2 in a series, it follows a cat's adventures on his way to his home in the east. There's a bit of "potty" humor, but it was in a fun way and also provides information on how elephant dung helps the African ecosystem. There's also a bit about dealing with bullying. It will be a series worth reading when done.

"The Elephants," book two in Jennifer Ussi's educational, exciting, and awareness-raising series, "The Incredible Adventures of Casper the Cat Who Got Lost in Africa," follows Caspar the lost cat, as he leaves his friends, the pangolins, and meets new ones during his journey east toward home. Caspar meets Bugle, a baby African elephant, and together, they work through situations where they learn from each other and show off their unique strengths to better each other.

Readers will learn more about animals in the African wild in "The Elephants," along with the first story, "The Pangolins," presumably for each subsequent story. I read this with my 11-year-old, who expressed interest in the facts about elephants, hornbills, and impalas. The topic of poop/dung plays a central role, so parents, be forewarned that there is a section with some potty humor, but in reality, the role that elephant dung plays in the ecosystem was not something I was familiar with, and I appreciated learning this. Another topic shown is bullying, which can be beneficial for readers to see it addressed in a (mostly) realistic way.

The second part of casper, the little house cat who got lost in Africa, with help from her friends the pangolins she finds how to get home, and in the way she meets some new friends, The elephants! including a special baby elephan who is a lot braver than he believes.
As you fellow reader can see its a cute story, however when Im reading a children's book I'm thinking either on myself as a child or as a gift I would give to my nieces, and I dont believe I would have liked this book and at the 1546135 time I read poop I wouldnt give this book to my nieces either.
However, it has information about animals mingled with the story ( very well done actually ) the drawings are really pretty, and it's an educational book overall.

Casper the cat is once again on her journey to find her way home to the big city after getting lost in the jungle. As she says goodbye to her new friends the pangolins, she heads east. She stops to rest and when she wakes, she comes face to face with a baby elephant, Bugle. At this point, there is a lot of discussion about poop. Interestingly enough, elephant poop plays an essential role in the jungles ecosystem. Hornbill birds eat the poop and then drop the seeds propagating the forest.
As Casper’s journey continues, she, with the help of Bugle, releases an impalas horns out of a tree. She teaches Bugle, that although he is a baby, he is strong and brave and can do things on his own.
This is a very nice sequel to the first book. It’s an easy and quick read. What I love, throughout the book, is the informational text. Included at the end is a summary of all the animals that Casper meets and fun facts about each one. Let me add that the artwork is absolutely gorgeous. I wish there were even more pictures. Looking forward to Casper’s next adventure, when she meets a giraffe for the first time

Well, the title alone is an obvious five stars, and the content is pretty jolly and something I would have loved as a kid. Having visited a safari, I always feel a sense of ease reading about animals. This story, the second in the collection, relates to Casper (the aforementioned cat), who needs to get home but needs a little help from his (newfound) friends. Having not read the first, I'm unsure why he is in Africa. Still, we meet two elephants called Bugle and Hannah, who are happy to help Casper understand the circle of life (in this case, the importance of elephant waste in the ecosystem). Breezy in tone, with some excellent facts at the back, likely collated by the author for parents, this is a worthy addition to any young reader's collection.

Casper the cat is back! Still sassy, still tiny, and still lost in the African bush, Casper is just trying to find her way home. After saying goodbye to the Pangolins, her friends from the first book, Casper stumbles upon a group of elephants, including a mischievous baby (Bugle) and two bullies (Greta and Gertrude) with a shared tragic past. What will Casper learn on this adventure? And what will she help teach her new friends, the Elephants?

A heartwarming story about Casper and her adventure with Bugle and Hannah, the elephant siblings, and I loved the fun facts about animals that the author included at the end; they are very informative.

Really cute children’s book about a little house cat who got lost in Africa and meeting friends throughout her journey. In this story, Casper the cat meets the elephant herd. The story and artwork is cute and well suited to middle-older elementary school age. I really like the sprinkles of animal facts throughout the story and at the end that will be able to teach kids some things about these animals.
