A fun filled adventure on the high seas where young schoolboy Ray enters another world and ends up on a pirate ship- where all manner of events take place along with some nifty puzzle solving and Ray and his pirate friends need to collect certain objects throughout the story.
This story reminded me of a combination of Treasure Island, Indiana Jones along with Matilda (in reference to the situations which took place with Ray in the real world).
It made for an exciting, interesting and enjoyable read.
#RayTaylorandthetornandtatteredtreasuremap #Netgalley and thankyou to Netgalley for the ARC copy of this unique and riveting story.

Ray Taylor and the Torn and Tattered Treasure Map is an imaginative and charming adventure that blends real-world struggles with fantastical pirate quests. Ray is such a relatable main character—you root for him instantly, especially as he escapes bullies and school pressures through his love of drawing and a wild, otherworldly treasure hunt. I enjoyed it because it reminded me of the kind of stories I used to get lost in as a kid—full of magic, danger, and heart. It’s a perfect pick for anyone who loves a classic, page-turning adventure.

Okay, this book? Straight-up adorbs meets epic. One second you’re chilling with a bullied kid in a quiet town, and the next—BOOM—you’re on a pirate ship, hopping between wild fantasy worlds, chasing glowing stones, and dodging devilish puzzles from a dead cook with a blank secret book (yes, really!). Ray is a total underdog, and I was rooting for him HARD. This is like if The Goonies, Treasure Island, and your weirdest dreams had a baby. I loved every second of the ride. ⚓🐶🗺️
