My Star-Crossed Summer by Lucy Day is a heartwarming second-chance romance set in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. The story follows Victoria, a woman looking for a fresh start after a breakup and career setback, who finds herself co-counseling at a kids’ camp with her old college crush, Noah. Their sizzling chemistry and unresolved past create a slow-burn romance filled with emotional growth and self-discovery. With a picturesque setting and a relatable journey of healing, this sweet and uplifting story is perfect for fans of closed-door romances and second chances.

Dual POV will always get me! I love the rugged man and the clueless-but-gritty woman dynamic. I also love that the author didn't drag on what happened between them, and told everything through flashbacks/inner monologues.

I love how protective Noah is while still being caring and generous to Victoria. I love that Victoria realized that she didn't want the life she was going towards, and made an effort to change it.

Great story and so sweet and gave me butterflies!

Loved This book so much! It was a fun and light read, and with my favorite trope ever “second chance romances”.
Recomend This to everyone who wants a fun read this summer.

I enjoyed this book. I loved the storyline of not knowing what to do in life and working it out from there and just doing something that you enjoy. I found that very inspiring. The romance was so sweet and good I loved the slowburn and slightly forbidden in a good way (workplace restrictions) it was a really cute book and a fun read.

Would recommend for anyone look for a cute read with an inspiring storyline and a slowburn romance.

Victoria decides to take a job at a summer camp when she feels as though her world is crashing around her.

I absolutely loved this book. It was the perfect summer read. It made me feel like I was sitting by the bonfire and eating smores. Lucy Day did a really good job of making us feel like we were at the camp. This book was really well written! This author needs more recognition!

This novel is a sweet romance between two college best friends who have lost touch but are reunited working at a summer camp. This is my first book by Lucy Day, and I really enjoyed her writing. While the plot and the ending were a bit predictable, the overall story was well thought out.

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.

I did not realize at the time that this was part of a larger series. I therefore, cannot properly give this book the proper review it merits.
At some other point in time, I will revisit this series and author. It does strike me as a fun romcom, and appealing read.

I really like the style of her writing and although this was my first Lucy Day book, it won't be the last. I had trouble putting it down, and I liked how it had a lot of character building and development but it wasn't too predictable per se. The story was entertaining and not so chewed to the bone that most of new books are nowadays.

I love all of Lucy Day’s books. This one was a quick read, uplifting, and has a happy ending. For a routine thriller reader these books are always a great break for me. Looking forward to the next one.

This is the first book I read in the Jasmine Falls Love Stories series, but it served perfectly well as a stand-alone (to the point that I didn't know it was part of a series until I posted my review to Goodreads). I think this is a really cute summer read, especially because it takes place at summer camp which will certainly bring back memories for many of us (both as campers or camp counselors). I'd say that if you enjoy friends to lovers and second chance romances, this was a good one featuring those two tropes. The entire cast of characters is really lovely so that made for a fun read -.I read this entire book with a smile on my face. Which is really all I ask for in a summer romance read!

This was a solid 4.5 stars for me, a great second chance romance. This story follows Noah and Victoria, college best friends with unrequited feelings who have a falling out, only to reunite out of pure chance years later. I found myself drawn to Victoria’s personality and inability to decide what she truly sees for herself in her life, to be truly happy. I found the setting descriptions extremely vivid, as though I was experiencing it myself. My only gripe I have with this story is that the ending felt a bit rushed, and could’ve been a bit shorter in my opinion. I’m excited to check out more of this series! Thank you NetGalley for the review copy.

A heartwarming second chance romance that feels like a warm breeze off the lake. Set at summer camp, it’s a reminder that stepping out of your comfort zone can lead to the best kind of surprises especially when someone’s waiting to catch you. Sweet, hopeful, and just the right amount of nostalgic.

Oh, this book was nice to read! Of course, I'm not a big fan of the second-chance trope, but here, I don't consider it as such since they weren't really together in the past, they just had feelings for each other, but nothing happened. When they wanted it to happen, the famous saying, "Right person, wrong time," came into play. Time passes, and they meet again, this time, it's their turn, of course, this is a little slow for their work, since they can't relate there, but they decide to wait. Overall, it was an uncomplicated, quick read with a little drama at the end, but it didn't detract from the story because it was predictable.

Fun second-chance romance story in a cute setting. I liked the characters and the forced proximity of the single tent. I had a fun time reading through their story!

Cute, quick and fluffy second chance romance! Thank you NetGalley for providing me with this arc, appreciated the chance to read this. I'm not the biggest fan of second chance romance but this one was good. There was miscommunication trope which did aggravate me but it also dragged me into the story more so I see why the author used it!

📖 Bookish Thoughts
This was a really cute second chance romance! Vic is deep in a life crisis—burned out, newly single, and not sure what’s next. She’s a perfectionist to her core and totally stuck in people-pleasing mode. So when she ends up working as a summer camp counselor and finds out her co-counselor is her old college crush? Yeah… awkward!!!

Noah was genuinely sweet, and I appreciated how patient and understanding he was with Vic. He really saw her, anxiety and all, and didn’t try to fix her—just met her where she was.

The ending was a little silly (Vic, please… communicate??), but the epilogue was super satisfying and made me smile.

🥾 What You Can Expect
• Forced proximity
• Second chance romance
• He falls first
• Closed-door
• Only one tent
• Workplace romance

Rating: 3.5 ⭐️
Thank you to Blue Crow Books and NetGalley for the ARC! All thoughts are my own.

Cute lil rom com. I enjoyed the summer camp wilderness setting and the attention to detail about different needs of campers. Nothing super exciting but a great easy summer read. I look forward to reading more by this author!

After living the life of what her perfectionist mother wants, Victoria had enough. She quit her successful real-estate job, and also broke up with her toxic ex- fiance. With her savings depleting fast, she needs a job. Good thing her friend came in with an offer of becoming a counselor at a summer camp. Without other choices, she accepts and her new co-counselor is her ex- bestfriend, and the guy she kissed in college, Noah.

Not gonna lie, the premise hits a bit close to home. I can't help but relate to Victoria very much. And it was such a nice ride being in her brain because I totally understand. What I really like about this book is the balance of personal growth and romance. As for Noah, he is amazing! So amazing, that he's too good to be true. He's definitely written as the ideal book boyfriend. If anything, I do appreciate that he's not flawless. I also liked his personal growth too.

Victoria and Noah's romance was honestly so refreshing to me. I love that their office romance is not your typical setting. And I honestly appreciate that they realize where they are and actually respects that they are around children. It's actually kind of cute because it has that feeling of having a crush that you see around and you can't do anything about. It's quite precious.

This was such a fun and entertaining read. And I appreciate the whole plot. It was so intriguing that I kind of want to read the first book in the series.

Summer camp, stars, second chances, and slow burn. Closed door romance. Well written, makes you want to get outdoors and find your inner child, the one that got lost along the way to people pleasing. Fun and light. A bit too in her own head wishy-washy for my tastes, but I know some people like that, so that's why not a 5/5 for me.
