'My Star-Crossed Summer' is an easy, low-spice, contemporary romance novel - definite Sarah Adams vibes! Victoria and Noah's friendship is heartwarming and them working together at the youth camp provides a fun setting. I am grateful that the story doesn’t wait all the way until the end to clear the air between the two love interests. There's nothing explicit about the romance but it does flirt with the line of clean considering with how much the characters mention their desire to be with each other physically. Just something to keep in mind depending on your spice-tolerance. I have not read any other books from this series but it works well as a standalone.
Special thanks to BooksGoSocial and NetGalley for a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This book is a perfect fit for readers who love emotionally charged, slow-burn romances that simmer with witty banter and explore themes of self-discovery. The cozy, small-town setting provides a charming backdrop for the characters' journeys, creating a sense of intimacy and community that draws readers in. The combination of heartwarming moments, laugh-out-loud humor, and poignant introspection will resonate with fans of contemporary romance who appreciate a story that delves into the complexities of relationships and personal growth.

My Star-Crossed Summer by is a sweet, closed-door romance set at a summer camp in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The story follows Victoria, a perfectionist seeking a fresh start after personal setbacks, who unexpectedly reunites with her college crush, Noah, as co-counselors. While the romance is heartwarming and the setting charming, the book was slow overall and the plot was predictable. Overall, it's an enjoyable read for fans of second-chance romances and summer settings.

4⭐️
I don’t read second chance romances enough but this might be what I needed to change that. Victoria and Noah are loveable in their own way and I thoroughly enjoyed reading them coming back to each other.
The back drop of the kids camp was a nice touch, with Victoria feeling out of depth but being utterly charming and the kids (especially Priya and Layla) were adorable.
Will be recommending this to all who love a good romance and will be looking at more of Lucy’s work.

I am thankful to be given the opportunity to read an ARC copy of this book. I loved the setting and premise. A lot of the setting is at summer camp with the main characters being counselors who had a past together once upon a time. I think summer camps might be one of my new favorite settings. I love second chance troupes too. Overall, this had all the elements of a sweet cozy romance. Some of the conflict between the characters was a bit annoying but not enough that I wanted to DNF. I haven’t read the first story on the series but from meeting the the characters in this story I’m adding it to my TBR.

A charming and heartwarming story that was an absolute joy to read. The story moves along smoothly and keeps you hooked the whole way through.

Thank you to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for the e-ARC of this title to read and review. I have several other Lucy Day books on my Kindle, including the rest of the Jasmine Falls Love Stories series standalones, but this is the first I've read so far. I'll definitely go back and read through the rest, because I like the author's writing style and this world that's been built for the characters. I really enjoyed that My Star-Crossed Summer was set at a summer camp in the Blue Ridge Mountains, which made for great atmosphere and led to great adventures. I liked getting to know the characters of Victoria and Noah and watch them find each other after reconnecting, but ultimately I felt like this story got really repetitive (in both the descriptions/story itself and the main plot points being driven home) and the overarching stakes were quite low - I do realize you could get in trouble for dating at work, but the "no dating" rules at their summer camp felt like they would be for teenage volunteers and not for fully grown working adults who could do the proper paperwork or whatever to disclose it to bosses etc, and it didn't lead to much yearning or passion, so it kept reading juvenile in spaces that didn't call for it. I wasn't swept up in their story at all, but I did enjoy it!

I want to start by thanking the author and publisher for the opportunity to read an advanced release copy of this book. I really enjoyed it and could definitely see it being on lists for beach reads this summer!

"My Star-Crossed Summer: A Sweet Second Chance Romance" by Lucy Day was a great read! The story was heartfelt and engaging, filled with emotional moments and charming characters that kept me hooked from start to finish. I loved how the author wove together themes of love, destiny, and personal growth. The chemistry between the main characters was authentic and touching, making their second chance at romance feel both believable and satisfying. I'd definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a well-crafted love story with plenty of heart!

This was a sweet second chance romance set at an American summer camp. I loved the setting and the characters were very loveable and relatable. It was a wonderful easy read. I felt that it could have been made a bit more concise or could’ve used some more discussion about their back stories to give a little more depth. But overall was an enjoyable read with the perfect ending. It made me want to read the rest from the series.

Victoria and Noah’s story was such a beautiful one to read about!!
It’s a cute, second-chance, forbidden romance and I loved all of it! I loved all of Victoria’s self discoveries and reading about her journey and the hardships of finding herself felt very relatable.
I soaked up every word and was eager for the rest.
I loved the premise of the summer camp, nature filled story and them finding each other again, and I feel like it was executed very well! I really enjoyed this book & recommend reading it!!

I really enjoyed this book by Lucy Day. It was nice to see a story for Victoria after reading her sister's story. I liked seeing Victoria pull herself up by her bootstraps and get some self confidence. I was worried that she would be too girly to outdoors but she really adapted to it.
Noah is a good character for Victoria to play off of. Their past relationship seems to just pick up again after many years. Dual POV is always great to see. I love hearing the story from both sides.
My biggest issue is the relationship being forbidden by the camp. I understand that it is a distraction but they make it seem like it is absolutely the worst and everyone will be fired. There was really no big thing at the end and I was waiting for it.
Thank you to Lucy Day, BooksGoSocial, and NetGalley for the e-ARC. This review is my own opinion.

This book was so much fun to read. I loved that the backstory want too messy but also enough to believable. Noah and Victoria have pretty good chemistry plus the side characters are amazing. There's the outdoorsy, adventurous aspect to this book which adds layers to the story alongside the fact that she's got a self discovery arc. Absolutely adore sweet romances!!!

This book is a great summer (or wishing it was summer) read. I really enjoyed the summer camp setting, and the descriptions of the natural world around the camp were surprisingly vivid. This book is the second chance romance story of Noah and Victoria, who met years earlier in college, caught feelings, and then things ended badly and unresolved. Now they’ve both started working at an astronomy summer camp completely by chance.
What I liked:
- Victoria’s personal growth. The book begins with her shimmying down a tree in order to sneak out of her mother’s house, so I knew right away that this is a woman who has some unresolved issues. Throughout the book, Victoria is very contemplative in regard to her future and recognizing what she actually wants for herself and not just what her mother expects of her.
- The kids at camp. The interactions between the kids and between the kids and the camp staff were so believable and sweet. Even the kids who were more of a challenge had redeeming qualities.
- The humor! There were scenes that gave me a good laugh and I could really picture some of the chaotic moments. I’m not always a big fan of physical comedy in books, but it was written well here.
- Dual POV. I loved being able to see things from both Noah and Victoria’s points of view.
What I Didn’t Like:
- Most of what we see of Noah and Victoria’s emotional relationship is through reminiscing about the past. There’s definitely a lot of physical attraction between them in the present day, but I wish we got to see more of their emotional connection in the present too.
- There’s a huge emphasis on the fact that they cannot fraternize while they’re both working at the camp, and that conflict is never really resolved.
Overall this book is a fun and quick summer read, perfect for a “brain-off” reading day! I enjoyed it a lot and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a low stress, low spice romance novel.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC of this book!

3.5!!
My Star-Crossed Summer is a cozy, second-chance, closed-door romance set mainly in a summer camp in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Victoria Griffin is finds herself accepting a temporary counselor position at a youth's summer camp after burning out in a life that she wasn't passionate about. It is here that she finds out one of her co-counselors is a former crush / best friend from college, who she hasn't seen since their falling out many years ago. Summer camp takes them on a journey through self-discovery and forbidden chemistry as they confront the memories from their past.
Book Yays:
- Cozy Setting: 3 cheers for a cozy small-town camp setting in the mountains and the antics that come with it
- Witty banter: Enough interesting, light dialogue to keep the book moving
- Dual-POV: Nice to see both POV's, especially as they address their intertwined pasts and the tension they feel forced being together in tight quarters for the summer
Book Nays:
- Pace: There is a bit of redundancy in character patterns that drag the middle of the book out a bit before rushing the end
- Character development: There could have been a bit more depth to side characters like Sophie as well as more depth to Victoria's growth / exploration while growing her confidence
- Balance between past / current conflict: I loved that the conflicts facing the two character's romantic possibilities was multi-dimensional. However, I do think that the story could have benefitted from focusing a bit more on current conflicts than focusing on the past for a majority of the book
Overall though, this was a nice, enjoyable read!
Thank you to NetGalley for the Advance Reading Copy (ARC) in exchange for my honest review!!

Very cute love story! It was a little repetitive and a bit back and forth at times but overall really cute! I really liked the dual POV and the summer camp setting was very nostalgic.

For a Read Now book on netgalley I actually enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would. It was quite funny at times and the characters were likeable. I struggle with romance book characters sometimes because they feel very unrealistic but this was not the case.

Noah and Victoria are so sons cute with the perfect amount of drawn and connection.
Second chance romance is my favourite trope, and I find I can forgive unlikeable, to me, characters when that’s the case.
Part of a series, but without reading the others I didn’t find myself lost.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for sending me a copy of this book to review.
This was a fun romance novel, and I enjoyed it a lot. I am looking forward to reading more by this author.
