If I'm ever in a book rut, I can count on a Keri Beevis book to help get me out of it! This was a great story, per usual. With a nod to Hitchcock's Rear Window, it was a gripping thriller through and through. Although I predicted who the killer was, I still very much enjoyed watching it all unfold. I will always recommend this author's books! They are faced paced and easy to get lost in.

DNF. I read about half of this book, but it didn't capture my attention. The pacing was too slow, and there were too many tangents with seemingly random characters.
Thank you, Netgalley, for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

Thank you NetGalley for the advanced readers copy of the house sitter by Keri beevis. Unfortunately, this book did not catch my attention, I later tried to listen on audio but did not finish.

Very much a slowwww burn. I was not hooked and had trouble keeping focus to finish this out. It did not give me true thriller vibes and the writing felt a little cheesy?? Not for me.

I’ve read a few of this authors books and enjoyed them so was looking forward to this one. I really liked the main characters and the relationship between them flowed well. There were some great twists and it had such a good ending.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and publisher for an advanced copy to review honestly.
Okay, so The House Sitter by Keri Beevis? Total page-turner vibes. You’ve got this woman who’s just gone through a breakup and thinks, “Hey, maybe house-sitting my brother’s fancy apartment will be chill.” Spoiler alert: it’s anything but chill.
Right away, she starts noticing weird stuff happening across the street. Like, seriously creepy stuff. And instead of minding her own business, curiosity drags her deeper into a mess of secrets and lies. Suddenly, the quiet little break she wanted turns into a full-on suspense rollercoaster.
What I really loved about this book is how Beevis nails that slow-burn tension — it’s not all jump scares or craziness from page one, but that creeping “something’s off here” feeling grows and grows. You start feeling all the nerves and paranoia right along with the main character, and by the end? You’re holding your breath, just like her. Also, the characters feel super real — messy, flawed, and just trying to figure stuff out like the rest of us. The plot twists kept me guessing, which is exactly what you want in a thriller.
If you’re into those stories where you think you know what’s happening but then… nope, you don’t, and you gotta keep reading to find out, this is a great one to pick up. Perfect for binge reading on a weekend when you want to get totally sucked in.

The House Sitter by Keri Beevis was page turning unputdownable book!! If you like page turning, mystery, addictive, psychological thrillers then you will love this book.
This book had me hooked from first page! Beevis has a way of writing thrillers that pull you in and keep you hooked until the very end trying to figure out who did it. She did such a great job with the story line and plot. The characters were so well written they drove you nuts, you love and hate them. There were so many twists and turns in this fast paced story with an ending I did not see coming. Thank you to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for letting me read this ARC in exchange for my very late thoughts and opinions.

The House Sitter is an engaging and heartfelt story about new beginnings, unexpected friendships, and finding your place in the world. This is a new author to me, and I was impressed by Keri's warm and charming writing style. The relatable characters and cosy setting create a comforting atmosphere that draws you in from the start.
A lovely, feel-good read.

Kerri is embarrased by thinks nothing more of it. Until the next day a local woman has gone missing and Kerri is positive its the woman she saw on the balcony. She is determined to investigate , what follows is an interesting read. Recommended for fans of psychological thrillers.

People watching gone wrong… I really enjoyed this! It kept me hooked, I didn’t guess the twist, and it was an overall great time! I will 100% not be people watching anymore.

Nina is dealing with a relationship break up when her brother asks her to feed his cat for him while he's away. She decides she needs some space and stays at his apartment. While stuck in a power outage and bored on her first night there, she takes to people watching on the balcony with some binoculars. And what she sees while watching her neighbours will lead her down a wild path.
This is my first Keri Beevis book, and wow, I am hooked! I devoured this in a day, but I could not put it down. And the twist at the end, I *SHOULD* have seen coming, but it got me gooooddddd! Brilliant writing, felt like you were there with the characters. I will definitely be looking for more from this author. Thank you, Keri and Netgalley, for the opportunity to read this ARC! I love finding new favourite authors

Keri Beevis returns with a sinister and suspenseful tale that grabs hold from the first page and refuses to let go. The House Sitter is a masterclass in domestic tension, wrapped in eerie atmosphere, and fueled by a protagonist whose instincts put her directly in the path of danger.
When Nina agrees to house-sit for her brother, she expects solitude and recovery. What she gets is a front-row seat to something she was never meant to see. One hot, restless night, she glimpses a disturbing moment in the apartment across the way—something she can’t unsee. And when the woman disappears, Nina is left questioning not just what happened, but who she can trust.
Beevis weaves a web of voyeurism, secrets, and escalating paranoia, blending psychological depth with spine-tingling suspense. The pacing is tight, the stakes are high, and the tension crackles on every page. Nina’s descent into doubt, danger, and determination is both compelling and relatable, especially as she confronts her own vulnerabilities while chasing the truth.
With clever twists and emotionally charged moments, The House Sitter delivers a thrilling ride that keeps readers questioning everything until the final reveal. This is Beevis at her best—sharp, dark, and completely addictive.
Perfect for: Fans of twisty psychological thrillers, slow-burning suspense, and strong female leads caught in morally complex situations.
Rating: ★★★★★

Very slow paced story with some repetition. Nosy neighbors, people judging others with no true content to back up their theories, trying to make multiple people look like the person responsible for missing women, some deplorable characters, and no real twist. Easy to predict who was really behind everything and why. Lots of characters that sometimes blend together. This story was just average.

🧠 Thoughts:
This book had an exciting beginning with a creepy blackout and a questionable voyeuristic section. But after a while, the story slowed down and didn’t keep me as interested. I gave it three stars because it had some good twists, but overall it didn’t totally work for me. Having read many of Keri Beevis’s other books however, I’m sure many others will love this one!

🙏 Thank you to NetGalley, Keri Beevis, and Boldwood Books for letting me read and review this mysterious story!

This was not a bad one, it just moved a little too slowly for me. I prefer my thirllers to be a little more pacey. There are a lot of characters also to keep track of. It was just very predictable for me and didn't really shock me.

Oh wow I did not expect the twist! Nina turned down an engagement, is cat sitting her brother’s cat, and witnessed something she can’t forget. During a power outage, she scanned the apartments with a binocular and was caught spying. This was a quick read. Thank you to Boldwood Books for a copy.

Who doesn't enjoy a book about a neighborhood drama/thriller. I love them. I could not stop reading it as I wanted to know what was happening. Great characters, great plot and I was kept guessing all the way through. Highly recommend.

This is my first book by this author and I was blown away. The House Sitter is an intriguing, fast paced and twisty thriller. I was kept on the edge of my seat the whole time and could never guess what was going to happen next. I think this is going to be a big hit for anyone who loves mystery.

@keri.beevis is the Queen of British domestic psychological thrillers 🖤 Her latest novel, The House Sitter, starts out as the main character breaks up with her boyfriend and moves into her brother’s apartment to house sit. The beginning brings Hitchcock Rear Window vibes and then the story takes off into a twisty mystery full of suspense, twists, and a little bit of romance. It’s a fast paced page turner that will have you reading past your bedtime!

Nina‘s break up with her boyfriend leaves her without a place to stay conveniently her brother Dexter is going to be away for a few months and offers for her to stay at his place. During a power outage Nina grabs some pizza and sits out on the balcony to cool off a bit. Nina decides to people watch in the building across the road, she sees an attractive man and soon he’s joined by a beautiful woman, and Nina feels like a bit of a voyeur, but watches them have sex. Nina is a little rattled by this for some reason, but it all becomes clear when she discovers a woman matching the description of the woman she saw across the road has gone missing. Nina calls the police to let them know, but when the man, Julian, is questioned, he has an alibi.
Nina can’t seem to let this go, she is sure that she is right. Added to this mystery is the old man Leonard across the street who was also listening in and watching Nina watch Julian. Nina is then joined by Zac, a friend of her brothers who’s also a co-owner of the apartment. Nina tries to solve the crime herself, but does she get herself in over her head,
This is a pretty decent story that were lots of twists and turns, lots of action and interesting characters. Definitely a great summer read
Thank you to NetGalley, the publishing house, and the author for the opportunity to read a complimentary copy of this book in return for review, based upon my honest opinion.
