This was an exciting and intense read from start to finish. Nina is house sitting for her brother when she finds herself in the middle of a risky situation where she starts playing detective. Living in a fancy new apartment block with her brother’s childhood friend was not how she planned to spend the summer, but it certainly doesn’t turn out to be the experience that she expected when a girl goes missing and Nina questions whether she was one of the last people to see her.
I really liked how the plot unfolded taking the reader through a timeline of events whilst experiencing it from the different character’s POVs. There were so many cliffhangers which constantly left me desperate to read on, resulting in me finishing the book in less than 48 hours. I constantly found myself guessing the outcome and then changing my mind a few chapters later, it was a real rollercoaster right until the very end.
This was a fast paced, suspense filled thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. This is the first book I have read by Keri Beevis and I am already eager to read more. Thank you NetGalley for my ARC, I highly recommend it!

Loved this book.
What a great twisty, turny thriller with well written, likeable characters and a perfectly realistic setting. River heights sounds lovely, but it sets a very fitting scene.
Had a hitchcockian feel throughout but was totally addictive and I read it within a few days.
Another excellent novel from Keri Beevis.

The House Sitter isn’t my favorite from Keri Beevis, but it still had enough going for it to keep me engaged. The plot moves at a decent pace, and I liked how the supporting characters felt connected to one another.
The main character, Nina, was pretty insufferable at times, which made it tough to fully invest in her storyline. Luckily, the rest of the cast helped carry the weight and kept the story from dragging.
I did end up guessing the twist, but that didn’t ruin the fun—it was actually satisfying to see it play out. Beevis knows how to drop just enough clues without making it too obvious, which I appreciate.
All in all, while it didn’t blow me away, it was an entertaining read with some strong moments. If you enjoy a light psychological thriller with a solid ensemble of characters, this one’s still worth checking out.

Thank you NetGalley and Boldwood Books for this ARC.
This book intrigued me with the premise of house sitting in a fancy building. The characters were great and i enjoyed the twists and turns.

“The House Sitter” is the thirteenth book I’ve read by Keri Beevis. You would think that by now I’d have seen the twist coming, but she managed to surprise me yet again.
While this book may not have the heart-pounding intensity of some of Beevis's other works, it's a compelling read that I easily devoured within a day.
Thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This was a fast-paced, suspenseful read. I’m a fan of Keri Beevis, so I was excited to dive into this one! The characters were well-developed, and I really enjoyed how the story was told from multiple POVs—it kept me guessing. Even though I figured it out a bit early, it was still a thoroughly enjoyable read!

Another fantastic read by Keri Beevis! This one hooked me right off the bat and just never let go. Dark, gritty and creepy all rolled into one. Great characters that had me burning the midnight oil. Great chemistry and excellent storytelling. Don’t let this gem pass you by.
Thank you NetGalley, Keri Beevis and Boldwood Books for the opportunity to read and review this book

Thank you yo Netgalley and Boldwood Books for a chance to read this ARC.
The House Sitter follows Nina, house sitting for her brother, she becomes involved in a mystery of a woman she saw on her neighbor's balcony who has since gone missing. Several other neighbors become characters in this twisty thriller. I most definitely did not see the ending coming with one final twist that had me a little shocked!
Nina was a little annoying at times but overall this was a satisfying read!

Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review. Nina just ended her relationship and needs a place to stay until she figures out the next step. The timing is perfect as her brother is leaving out of the country and offers her his apartment until he returns. His roommate is also away so she will have the place all to herself. One night the power goes out and as she is getting ready to turn in when she realises the adjacent high rise has lights on so she heads out to the balcony to take a look. As she sits outside taking in the view, she notices movement on the balcony of the adjacent building penthouse. She takes the binoculars off the table and takes a look, there is a man and a woman being very intimate but Nina cannot look away. A few days later there is a news bulletin of a missing girl and Nina is absolutely sure that this is the woman who was on the balcony across the way....did her neighbour do something to the woman....Enjoy!!

"For fuck's sake, Nina. You're not Nancy Drew."
The House Sitter follows Nina Fairchild. who is house/cat sitting for her brother whilst he is away with his partner. One night, Nina is on the balcony where she sees her attractive neighbour being intimate with a woman on his own balcony. The next thing Nina knows, that woman has been reported as missing and no one has seen her since that evening. Nina takes on the challenge of finding out the truth, whilst navigating her own major life changes.
Keri Beevis has done it again! Last January, I had been staying in a hotel and I finally gave in and listened to my first audiobook. This was the "The Sleepover." Another amazing work by Beevis. Since then I've listened to almost every single one of her novels. A few months back I got into NetGalley and every now and then I would check to see if there was anything new from my favourite authors, including Beevis. I was so excited to see The House Sitter appear and I immediately requested. After a long, anxious wait to see if I'd be allowed, the email popped through and began reading that night!
This was my first time reading one of her novels, but I was amazed that it has the same impact! It felt familiar and safe and it kept me hooked! The plot was fantastic and I really loved all the characters! Sometimes I can struggle to like everyone presented as I can feel less invested in some, not enough involvement etc etc. But this time was different. Throughout the entire story I was there, present and obsessed and even the ending felt perfect. A nice, crisp ending that made all the loose threads finally tighten!
I am very excited to give the book 5/5 stars and would highly recommend this and all of Beevis' work! I am excited to read whatever Beevis produces next, hopefully I'll have this opportunity again!
Thank you Keri Beevis, Boldwood Books and NetGalley for the ARC!

Keri Beevis has quickly risen to one of my favourite authors. When she brings a book out, I drop everything to ensure I have a day or two to read it.
In this story, we are introduced to Nina, who has recently split from her boyfriend and moves in to her brothers flat to flat sit whilst he's away. One night, during a power cut, she finds some binoculars and gets curious to see what her neighbours are up to. What she sees leads her onto a dangerous path.
I really enjoyed this story, and though I did guess who the killer was, I also changed my mind multiple times in the final third of the book. I did find the main character Nina annoying at times and quite unlikable. However, as the story developed and her relationship with Zac grew, she became more likeable.
If you haven't read any books by this author, you are really missing out. Her books are very, very good. Full of thrilling and nail-biting storylines.

First I wish to thank Netgalley, Publisher Boldwood Books and Author Keri Beevis for the advanced e-copy of The House Sitter!
In Norway we have a tradition of reading/watching crime during the holiday, and I decided to pick The House Sitter for the tradition, and oh my, I was NOT let down!
Nina moves into her brother's rented apartment following her ending her relationship with her want-to-be fiancee. One night, when she relaxes on the balcony with a steaming hot pizza, with a pair of binoculars, she looks around her new surroundings when she notices the hot guy in the block opposite having a girl over. Next morning, the news of a missing girl starts spreading like wildfire and she remembers the girl from the night before looking a lot like the missing girl...
The House Sitter is a multiple POV thriller covering multiple missing persons, a fmc sure she knows who is behind this all and a mmc creating more trouble than what's good for him.
When I realized there were multiple POV's, I was a little nervous that I was going to miss out on the story trying to figure out who's POV I was reading, but to my surprise, this went well. The character introduction and development was written in a way where no detail was left behind, their actions, conversations and thoughts made sense and I was able to follow without any issues!
I am in love with this book and it was a great introduction to Keri Beevis. I will definitely be checking out more of their work.

3.5/5
When you break up with your boyfriend and move into your brother's place for a bit to figure things out but then you think you just saw a women go missing...just the normal things that happen when you're house-sitting.
And some people are being real sus. The man that was with the missing woman acts like she was never there, so you think the story is going to go one way, but it goes another.
This is the kind of mystery where everyone is a suspect until the true culprit is revealed. I though this was a very cool premise and location for a mystery because there are so many options.
There were a few parts that felt repetitive, but it did speed up and have a better flow towards the end, so I didn't mind too much.
Thanks to NetGalley for the e-ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review! My Goodreads review is up and my TikTok (Zoe_Lipman) review will be up at the end of the month with my monthly reading wrap-up.

Thoroughly enjoy this book! The characters were well written and enjoyable. Loved the twist at the end - didn’t see it coming! The description of the apartment complex was great, I felt like I was there! Quick read. Been recommending to others.

Wow! A fantastic read that keeps you guessing and turning the pages throughout. Full of a bunch of great (and suspicious!) characters, and plenty of shocking twists and turns. Brilliant!

The House Sitter is a tense and addictive psychological thriller that hooks you from the first line and doesn’t let go. After a painful breakup, the protagonist seeks solitude in her brother’s upscale apartment—only to find herself spiraling into a voyeuristic nightmare. What begins as harmless curiosity from the balcony during a power outage soon turns sinister when a woman she watches goes missing.
With a perfect setup for suspense—an unreliable narrator, a handsome stranger, and secrets lurking across balconies—this book thrives on paranoia and unanswered questions. As the protagonist delves deeper into the mystery, the tension tightens. The reader is left constantly questioning: Who can be trusted? Is she seeing things? Or is she the only one seeing the truth?
I really enjoyed this book - the characters were in depth and the storyline really kept me guessing. My only issue with the book was that I found that the pacing was a little slow at times, but while that is an issue for me - others may enjoy that!

I’m a great fan of Keri Beevis who writes fabulous psychological thrillers. This book is about Nina who agrees to housesit for her brother following the breakup of her relationship. But when she looks through a pair of binoculars at the apartment block opposite, she sees something that seems highly suspicious. There are lots of extremely unpleasant characters, and when the woman she spotted on her neighbour’s balcony disappears, Nina turns detective. This is a super quick read, with plenty of twists, a romance at its heart and all the layers of deceit and suspense that marks a Beevis book. I really enjoyed this.

Nina agrees to house sit for a friend, looking after the cat. Whilst there she spies a man, Julian, in the apartments across the way with a woman. When its on the news that the woman has disappeared, Nina goes to the police however Julian has an alibi. Nina is convinced of what she saw and wants to prove it, but is she safe from Julian?.
There’s a wonderful feeling of uncertainty I felt whilst reading this- to me the skill of a brilliant author. Not knowing quite what's going to happen but that feeling that there’s something about to. I admired Nina and her determination. A story with twists and turns and a surprise ending- at least it was for me. Clever, brilliant, spellbinding. A captivating, stunning read.

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review of The House Sitter. Many thanks to Netgalley and the publisher, Boldwood Books, for this opportunity.
I, erroneously, thought I would read a few chapters of The House Sitter before bed. I was immediately gripped by this thriller and I could not rest until I had finished reading the entire novel! Author Keri Beevis has created a spellingbinding story featuring a cracking cast of characters, and it's impossible to tell who is trustworthy or not. Will I show up to Easter dinner tired because I stayed up beyond my bedtime to finish the book? Absolutely. And I have zero regrets!
I highly recommend The House Sitter as a tantalizing thriller- with a dash of romance- that will keep you on the edge of your seat!

I didn’t care for this book. The first 70% was really drawn out and repeated itself quite a bit. Not much happened with the storyline and then rush rush rush and BAM. It was over.
Thank you to NetGalley for the advance copy in exchange for my honest review.
