First, thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to review the ARC of The House Sitter by Keri Beevis. This book is a thriller and is 362 pages long. Every page made me want to continue reading. When Nina Fairchild’s relationship ends, she is left with nowhere to live. Luckily, her brother is leaving town for a month, so she is able to house-sit and watch his cat for him. While living at his posh apartment complex, she starts spying on people with binoculars and sees something she can’t unsee. The woman she sees goes missing, and Nina knows that something bad has happened to her. The rest of the book provides us with multiple suspects and holes in people’s alibis, as we try to figure out alongside Nina who committed the crime. I really enjoyed this book and had difficulty putting it down. While I did guess who the murderer was, it wasn’t a completely easy thing to do. I enjoyed the characters, with the exception of the three we were supposed to hate, and I found the plot to be interesting. I would definitely recommend this read!!

FANTASTIC READ!!! This book was suspenseful and keeps you on the edge of your seat. I couldn’t put it down! Very well written!!

The House Sitter tells the story of Nina, who agrees to house-sit in her brother's fancy apartment following the breakdown of her relationship. One evening, during a power cut, she sits on the balcony and gets a glimpse into the private lives of some nearby residents, where she sees the man in the penthouse apartment having a woman over. That weekend, a woman matching her exact description is reported missing and she hasn't been seen since that night. Nina tells the police, yet the man in the penthouse has a cast-iron alibi and denies she was ever there. Nina ends up trying to do some of her own detective work and finds herself in serious danger.
I adore everything Keri Beevis writes and The House Sitter is no exception! This book is tense and made me feel on edge, right from the start. The characters are well written and I couldn't get through the book quick enough to find out what happens to them all. It was full of twists and turns, with the final twist taking me completely by surprise.
Keri's books are always extra fun to read as they are based in my home city of Norwich, and I always enjoy reading about places that are close by.
My thanks to NetGalley and the Publishers for sending me this ARC in return for an honest review.

Another great read from Keri Beevis.
Nina is happy to house-sit for her brother while he’s away for a few weeks as she’s just left her boyfriend and needs some space.
The apartment is in a modern complex but when a power cut hits the building, Nina is bored. She finds her brother’s binoculars on the balcony and decides to get some fresh air while she waits for the power to come back on.
Nina isn’t prepared to see the owner of the penthouse opposite having sex on his balcony though. As much as she knows she shouldn’t be looking, she can’t help herself.
When Nina sees that a woman has gone missing a couple of days later, she recognises her from the night of the power cut, and suspects Julian knows where she is.
Nina contacts the Police but nothing seems to happen about it.
Zac owns her brother’s apartment and returns earlier than expected which annoys Nina at first, but with all the drama in this building, she’s glad he’s there.
This is a good read with some twists that I didn’t see coming.
Thanks to Boldwood books for the opportunity to read this book.

My thanks to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘The House Sitter’ written by Keri Beevis in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
Nina is staying at her brother Dexter’s flat while he and his partner Mark are travelling. On a very hot evening there’s a power outage and she’s trying to keep cool by sitting on the balcony in the dark while using her brother’s binoculars. Nina doesn’t mean to pry but she can’t help noticing the resident of the apartment opposite who's entertaining a blonde woman, and when she later reads that a woman matching her description is missing she reports having seen her to the police.
‘The House Sitter’ is more a mystery than a thriller and although there are twists and turns it was a fairly slow read and dragged at times so it was difficult to get totally immersed in what was happening. The plot was interesting with nicely described characters that I could relate to but it wasn’t as thrilling as I’d expected and at times I had to force myself to continue reading. I like Keri Beevis’s style of writing and enjoyed her previous novel but I wanted more action and when I came to the end I was disappointed, but this won’t stop me from looking out for her next novel.

What a read, full of twists and turns I didn’t see coming. Just as I thought I had it figured out boy was was I side swiped. As always with the author a fantastic well written storyline that grabbed me at the first page and didn’t let go till the last page.

This is my first book by this Author and I really enjoyed it. She kept me engaged throughout the whole story. There wasn’t one point where I thought the book was slow.
The House Sitter follows Nina who recently broke up with her boyfriend. Since she lived with her boyfriend, she goes and stays at her brother’s apartment because he is heading out of town. This is where the other characters enter the story. You have Dylan the maintenance man. Conrad, Julian, and Leonard who are all tenants of the same apartment complex. Tabatha who works for Julians dad and is Julians childhood friend. Last is Zach who owns the apartment that Nina’s brother Dexter lives in. One night the power goes out and Nina goes out on her port and is spying on her neighbors. When she is spying she sees Julian with a lady named Peyton who later goes missing in the story. The story then follows multiple characters on the journey to find out what happened to Peyton.
Keri does a great job giving building each character’s personality. Right off the bat I suspected one character that was involved in the disappearance of Peyton, but then Keri’s would through in little chapters that had me guessing myself on if I was right or not. I enjoyed that almost every character had secrets, so it made you guessing and added to the twists in the books. I look forward to reading more books by Keri if they are wrote like The House Sitter.
Thank you NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the ARC copy for an honest review.

The House Sitter was a fast-paced, suspenseful read told through the eyes of many different characters. I had a hard time knowing who to believe and who to trust! It's a story within a story if that makes sense...full of action and danger. A thriller you won't want to put down once you started reading! Many, many plot twists that kept me on the edge of my seat and that ending, WOW!
Synopsis: Sitting on the balcony one sweltering summer's evening in the midst of a power cut, I'm given a secret window into the lives of the residents in the opposite building, and I see more than I should. I'm drawn to a man in the penthouse and watch him closely and when a striking woman joins him on the balcony, I can’t tear my eyes away. The following weekend a woman matching her exact description is reported missing. She’s not been seen since that fateful night.
When I go to the police, the man in the penthouse has a cast-iron alibi and denies she was ever there.
Many Thanks to #TheHouseSitter #NetGalley and #BoldwoodBooks for providing me an E-ARC of this addictive psychological thriller!

I absolutely enjoyed reading this. Will definitely be recommending. Kept me really hooked I'll love to reread again

I actually really enjoyed this book. It was a solid read,fast-paced and definitely a page-turner. I liked the storyline and thought the ending wrapped things up in a satisfying way.

This novel was a bit of a slow burner for me but I enjoyed it in the end as it kept guessing me. I just felt it could have been wrapped up a bit quicker. I would rate it 3.5 stars rounded up to 4. Thank you to NetGalley, Boldwood Books and the author for the chance to review.

Just finished the House Sitter and it was so satisfying. It was fast paced, relatable characters from the nosey people to the greaseball, and every one in between. With everyone having a back story and something to be guilty of, it makes for a fantastic read.
I am in the way to the Dr’s because the way my head spun and my jaw hit the floor: my head is hurting 🙂
Well played Keri, well played. You are on my list of must read authors now.
The book is available now for pre-order and will be out in May 22. Add to cart now so you don’t forget.
I received an Arc, my opinions are my own.

I absolutely devoured The House Sitter! Keri Beevis has nailed the perfect blend of suspense, mystery, and psychological tension. From the very first page, I was hooked by the eerie setup—our main character, fresh off a breakup, agrees to house-sit her brother’s swanky apartment. Seems like the perfect escape... until she sees something strange from the balcony during a summer blackout.
That moment was so creepy and cinematic—I could feel the heat, the darkness, the eerie silence—and when she spotted something unsettling in the penthouse across the way, I was just as captivated as she was. What follows is a tense unraveling of truth, lies, and danger that had me flipping pages late into the night.
One of the things I loved most was how real and relatable the narrator felt. She’s curious, a little impulsive, but determined to do the right thing, even when everyone’s telling her she’s wrong. The paranoia is so well done—I was constantly wondering who could be trusted. Every time I thought I had it figured out, Beevis threw in another curveball. And the final twist? Totally nailed it.
This book gave me Rear Window vibes with a modern, fresh twist. It’s got that perfect mix of voyeurism, mystery, and psychological tension that makes for such a compelling read. Plus, the writing is super engaging—not overly complex, but evocative and fast-paced.
If you love thrillers with unreliable witnesses, hidden secrets, and a constant sense of unease, The House Sitter needs to be on your radar!

I love Keri Beevis. This was so tense and it did have a lots of twists that I didn't see coming.
Amazing thriller.

Nina is house/cat-sitting at her brother's apartment. During a power outage, she is sitting on the apartment balcony and sees a neighbor on his balcony with a woman. That woman goes missing and nothing is as it seems.
This was suspenseful, but some parts dragged a bit. Good twists that kept me reading!
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for access to this eARC.

Recently single, Nina is house sitting for her brother when her eyes stumble upon a couple on the balcony across the courtyard in a rather compromising position. (Or, a couple of positions, if you catch my drift…)
Knowing she should stop, she can’t seem to pull her eyes away.
She wants to forget the whole thing, but when, a few days later, the woman from the balcony’s face is plastered all over the news as a “Missing Woman” Nina debates putting her embarrassment aside so she can tell the police what she witnessed.
But what did she see? Who did she see?
And what about the person who was watching her watch them?
Keri Beevis does it again.
Beevis is my go-to when I am in a reading slump: easy and engaging, her plots are always just twisted enough to engage me, and not so crazy that I can’t follow- she is my perfect brain candy, and The House Sitter is no exception.

While housesitting her brother’s fancy apartment, Nina is out on the balcony looking at the residents in the opposite building. When she notices a man in his penthouse on the balcony and then a pretty lady joins him. She’s curious.
A week later, Nina then discovers that a woman matching this lady’s exact description is missing. When she goes to the police, the man with the penthouse claims she’s was never there and has a solid alibi.
But Nina knows what she saw. And someone is now watching Nina. How much can she trust these neighbours?
This started off strong. I was intrigued. Who was this missing girl? Where did she go? What has Nina got herself into? I was invested! But as the book progressed I became bored. I think it was a little longer than it needed to be. I also wanted a little bit more thrilling moments in the middle. Overall, it was an interesting thriller.
Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for a DRC. The House Sitter is available May 22.

The House Sitter by Keri Beevis is a thriller that keeps you on edge. The book follows Nina who, after a break up agrees to house-sit her brother’s upscale apartment. One summer night, during a power outage, she observes a man and a striking woman on a neighboring balcony. When the woman later goes missing, and the man denies her ever being there.Nina starts to investigate.
The book explores obsession, and the blurred lines between reality and illusion.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of this book for an honest review..

Thank your for the opportunity to read The House Sitter. This story follows Nina who is having a bit of a rough patch and decides to house sit for her brother. What she doesn't know is a pair of binoculars and a power outage would create a cat and mouse situation that might cost her her life.
This book had suspicion, speculation, twists and a full circle ending. Would recommend!

Overall 4.5*
The story has plenty going on throughout and begins with the main character Nina watching her rich entitled neighbour having sex on his balcony during a power cut. Julian is a spoilt adult brat who always seems to get his own way however Nina is not afraid of him. The story ebbs and flows making the reader constantly question what is really going on and then with the usual Ms Beevis flair, she throws in a huge twist or two, at the end ,which I most certainly did not see coming.
