Final Approach
Lake City Heroes #4
By Lynette Eason
Kristine Duncan is about to enjoy a vacation with her friends. She just needs to finish this flight as the onboard air marshal, and she'll be free to relax. But then everything goes wrong as a passenger attempts to hijack the plane she's on. R&R is on hold as Kristine and her friends investigate just what happened, because something is just not adding up.
The deeper Kristine and FBI Special Agent Andrew Ross dig, the more it becomes apparent that someone is targeting one of them. All the clues seem to point to Andrew's past as an undercover agent. But how does this relate to the hijacking?
Final Approach is an intricate and deceptive mystery that has so many twists that you won't be able to easily determine who the mastermind is. And there is cheesecake, lots of it, you may want to have a slice or two on hand, because it's cheesecake. I recommend getting a couple of flavors or a sampler. This book was definitely a late-night, just-one-more-chapter read. I recommend it for Friday night if you don't get a Saturday shift. And the "villain"? Wowzers! That's all I'm saying. It is a must-read, top of the TBR stack book if you love Romantic Suspense.
I was provided a complimentary copy of this book with no expectations but that provide my honest opinion. All thoughts expressed are my own.

This is an excellent read. It starts out with an exciting, dangerous event and keeps ramping up all the way to the end. The situations they found themselves in seemed impossible to make sense of but they kept working on it together with their group of friends. There were twists and surprises. It had an urgent pace to it and was hard to put down. I loved it. It is so well written.
Kristine has a crazy relationship with her dad. It was so different from anything I'm used to. I felt for her. She is blessed to have a fabulous, supportive friend group to take up the slack. I liked Andrew and was glad to see how they could help each other with trauma from their pasts.
This could be read as a standalone but it's better if you read it in the context of the series. I'd highly recommend it. Thank you to Revell for providing me with a free e-copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Lynette Eason is a great suspense writer! This book has something happening to the characters on every page! There is a little more romance in this book right from the start between Kristine and Andrew, but that is okay with me. The question is who is the bad guy after, Andrew, Kristine, Emily, someone that Andrew had been working with undercover, his cousin? Who is the target? Is there more than one? Great page turner!!
I received an ARC and am voluntarily reviewing it.

Lynette Eason does it again in her final book in the Lake City Heroes collection; a brilliantly written, engaging mystery, with a lot of action and christian faith woven right through. And she pulled out all the stops to make this one incredibly suspenseful surprise-ending! I usually pick up the very subtle clues along the way to guess the culprit at the end, but this novel had me guessing all along.
While this book can stand-alone and you don't necessarily need to have read the first three books in the series before beginning Final Approach (Eason does a great job to touch upon any earlier experiences from earlier novels into the narrative, so you're not scratching your head in confusion), I do think reading the earlier novels in the series gives greater depth and familiarity with the secondary characters and makes you feel like you're part of the friendly crew.
Final Approach was an interesting read, as the two main characters hadn't been mentioned in too much detail in the earlier novels. I loved getting to know more about the characters of Kristine and Andrew. Overall, Final Approach is a wonderful send-off to the Lake City Heroes series. I'd love to see a novella or such of another minor character within the Lake City Heroes series, so we can find out if Jesslyn and Nathan moved away and what happens in Kristine and Andrew's future.

I've loved the Lake City Heroes series and Final Approach did not disappoint..quite the opposite. It was an exciting read with twists I didn't see coming. Fast paced action made it difficult to find a stopping point. We are reminded we never know how long we have here on this earth so love big and forgive freely. If you love faith-based suspense this book...this entire series is for you.

If you love romantic suspense that hooks you from the very first page, Final Approach by Lynette Eason absolutely delivers. This one kicks off mid-flight with an attempted hijacking (while our heroine and her friends are supposed to be on vacation, no less!) and the tension never lets up from there.
Air Marshal Kristine Duncan doesn’t hesitate to spring into action, and FBI Special Agent Andrew Ross quickly joins her. The hijacker is subdued and the flight returns to Lake City. What should be a straightforward investigation spirals into something much more complicated, with layer after layer of deception, leads that go nowhere, and danger at every turn. The author does a fantastic job of keeping us guessing right along with Kristine and Andrew, and just when you think you know what’s going on, there's another twist.
This story isn’t just about the action. The chemistry between Kristine and Andrew is strong and believable. Watching them move from cautious allies to something much deeper was one of my favorite parts of the story.
This story had me turning pages late into the night with its high-stakes suspense and a conclusion that shocked me. I had my suspicions but didn't figure it out until right before it was revealed. It’s fast-paced, clean, and packed with the kind of intensity Lynette Eason fans have come to expect. This is a great addition to the Lake City Heroes series. If you enjoy romantic suspense that mixes danger, romance, and just the right amount of faith, this one is a must-read.
I received a copy from the publisher, Revell, via NetGalley. I also borrowed the audiobook from my library through the Hoopla app. All opinions in this review are my own.

The book starts off with a group of friends on a plane, going on a much needed vacation. Unfortunately, a hijacker attempts to seize control and these highly trained law enforcement types have to take control of the situation! After this action-packed start, the book focuses on Air Marshal Kristine Duncan and FBI Special Agent Andrew Ross as they try to get to the bottom of this hijacking.
The story evolves as Kristine begins to think that this latest episode is related to her Mother's death in a similar hijacking years ago. Throw in her controlling and meddlesome father and her sister's near death in a car crash and Kristine is up to her neck in intrigue!
Meanwhile, Andrew's past undercover work in a gang rears its ugly head as he tries to protect his former partner who is still working undercover. While Kristine and Andrew work together to get to the bottom of these seemingly unrelated situations, they also try to work through their budding romantic feelings.
The book is fast paced and the characters are well-written. The Christian faith of all of the people keep the focus on relying on God in bad situations. The book's ending caught me totally off-guard and as a longtime reader of suspense, this is unusual. I would have liked to know a bit more about the motivation behind the things that were revealed, but the ending was still satisfying.
This is the final book in the Lake City Heroes series by Lynette Eason. My first comment would be that I think readers would enjoy this book more if they have read the previous three books. In the first chapter, the author introduces 10 major characters and 4 related ones. Trying to figure out the connections between them and their respective occupations is a bit much thrown at you all at once!

Final Approach (Lake City Heroes Book #4) by Lynette Eason is an action-packed thrilling Chrisitan suspense romance. What seems to be a plane tragedy in the making is stopped by Air Marshal Kristine Duncan and FBI Special Agent Andrew Ross. However, nothing adds up as they investigate the case to catch the mastermind behind the hijacker attempt. These characters have baggage, so it is a convoluted case. All the while they are developing a friendship that could become more. As the case connects family members who also suddenly have problems. It is not until near the end that a mind-blowing twist happens. Looking back, I should have seen the signs.
A breathtaking story that shows the broken world in which we live but also how the Lord protects, guides and uses people to help others and stop evil. For the characters it is not without danger to themselves, but God is and does help in each situation. I had hoped that Hank might get his story but reading the next preview it looks like someone else. Still perhaps in the future. As for Final Approach I can highly recommend the to anyone who enjoys superbly written romantic suspense. That it has strong Christian elements is just an added marvelous bonus.

The Lake City Heroes series roars in for a thrilling, white-knuckle landing with Final Approach!
Air Marshal Kristine Duncan and her friends are bound for a much-needed vacation when their plane is hijacked. Together with FBI Special Agent Ross, Kristine stops the hijacker, but their investigation opens up wounds and exposes long-buried secrets from the past that threaten to destroy them both.
I love a book that surprises me, and Final Approach’s plot twists kept me guessing. Though it would read well as a standalone, the entire series is fabulous, and you’ll enjoy Final Approach even more with the additional background of the earlier books. Highly recommend!
*Thank you to NetGalley and Revell for the complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Final Approach is another exciting book by Lynette Eason. It opens with an attempted hijacking but with the passengers being law enforcement things are stopped.
Air Marshall Kristine Duncan and FBI Agent Andrew Ross investigate the case because it doesn't make sense. Then Kristine's little sister is in a car accident where the brakes have been tampered with just makes them dig deeper.
It seems to be connected to when her mother's plane was hijacked many years ago, but why?
The twists and turns in this story were what kept me reading, but the ending I didn't expect that at all!!

This book was INTENSE! I had been in a reading slump before I picked up this book and I couldn't stop reading. I have enjoyed this whole series and the deep friendships that these characters have is inspiring. I hope that Hank gets his own story in the future
I highly recommend this book and if you haven't read this series, it can be read alone but it would be more enjoyable to read them all from the beginning. So go give this series a read if you are looking for a great sweet romantic suspense read.

Final Approach by Lynette Eason brings the Lake City Heroes series to a close and it is one epic ride! You probably could read this as a standalone, but reading the entire series gives you more perspective on all the characters. Air Marshal Kristine Duncan is on a plane with her friends for some much needed R&R. Except the plane is hijacked mid-air. She jumps into action with her friend FBI Special Agent Andrew Ross and they get the plane on the ground. But the investigation has them reeling…and evidence points them in ten different directions.
I love intricate plot twists, surprise turns, and lots of danger. This story had me hooked from start to finish. Kristine and Andrew have one of those friendships where they both obviously want more…but between a complicated case and even more complicated personal lives, they can’t quite get the timing right.
The entire series is fantastic, and I love seeing some of the characters from the other books make appearances. They all work together as a team and show up for each other. If you love suspense, action, and romance, you’ll want to binge read the entire series. Final Approach is a fantastic conclusion to the series and you won’t want to miss this one.
I received an ebook review copy of this book through NetGalley. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Thank you to Revell Books for the complimentary e-book I received to review through Netgalley. I was not required to write a positive review, and the thoughts above are my own.
-Content: light to none.
Screw up is used once.
Trigger warning for verbally abusive characters, and some blood.

How could a journey to a much-needed vacation go so wrong? From first page to last Lynette Eason kept my attention. Final Approach is a fast-paced, edge-of-the-seat mystery involving friends and family. While trying to solve the whys and wherefores of a plane hijacking, the group of friends, most employed in law enforcement, are confounded at pretty much every turn. And the secrets being revealed are astonishing. I enjoyed watching the relationship between Kristine and Andrew grow into more than friendship. Readers who enjoy mystery and suspense blended with threads of authentic faith will not want to miss this last book in Eason's Lake City Heroes series. I was given a complimentary copy of the book through NetGalley and was not required to write a review. The opinions are my own.

How did it take me this long to find this author Lynette Eason? I am not usually a big fan of suspense. But Final Approach was a page turner. It was fast paced and kept my attention throughout as the author revealed clues a little at a time to solving the mystery. It was written in such a way that the reader feels like they are involved in solving the crime as the main characters rationalize who the criminal could be and motive. I am ready for more of Lynette Eason books. I received a copy from NetGalley. All opinions expressed are my own. And even thought this was a free copy, I will be purchasing a paperback to share.

Final Approach by Lynette Eason – Action and Suspense with Some Likeable Characters
Final Approach by Lynette Eason is the fourth book in the Lake City Heroes series.
Air Marshal Kristine Duncan is officially off duty. She and a group of friends are flying down to Key West for vacation. She is looking forward to some much-needed rest, fun, and spending time with friends. Hopefully, getting better acquainted with FBI Special Agent Andrew Ross.
Even though she is off duty, out of habit Kristine is scanning fellow passengers. Everything seems normal until one man catches her attention. Something seemed off about him. Suddenly, what should have been a short uneventful flight has become a hijacking. Thankfully, Kristine’s friends are there to help! Looks like vacation plans will be put on hold.
I liked having the characters and friendships from earlier books carried over. I wanted to see their friends have more interaction with Kristine and Andrew. I appreciated that faith played a part in the story. At one point Kristine was contemplating how she should respond to her parent considering what the Bible says about how children should honor their parents. Interesting since the father daughter relationship had some major issues. I liked Kristine’s care and commitment to her siblings and Andrew’s relationship with his family and seeing him reunite with a friend
There’s a lot of action and suspense in this book with several plotlines. Some are red herrings that dropped off later. It stretched the imagination, especially Kristine’s story. I would like to have seen the story with the hijacker’s family, especially his son, resolved more fully. Would also have liked to have seen the connection between Kristine and Andrew developed more. Don’t recall if it was focused on in the first three books.
Final Approach by Lynette Eason was action packed and filled with suspense and some likable characters. Liked some of the other books in Lake City Heroes series more. But if you are a Lynette Eason fan and like action and suspense, you will want to read Final Approach.
I would like to thank Revell Publishing and NetGalley for the opportunity to read a complimentary copy of Final Approach by Lynette Eason. I was under no obligation to give a favorable review.

**3.5 stars, rounded up**
Final Approach by Lynette Eason rounds out her “Lake City Heroes” series. We see the return of previous’ novels characters while focusing on the budding relationship between two others: Andrew and Kristine. Both have scarred, difficult backgrounds. Andrew blames himself for an innocent man’s death. Kristine’s conscience won’t let her rest regarding her mother’s heartbreaking death on a hijacked airplane. When their flight faces its own hijacking, Andrew and Kristine are thrown into a far more intense and far-reaching case than either of them could’ve ever anticipated.
Eason beautifully intertwines faith into Final Approach. Readers witness Andrew and Kristine’s prayers, their moments of vulnerability, and their growths in their walks with Christ and each other. Both are interested in a relationship from the start of the novel, though they’re hesitant to pursue it due to their respective baggage. While I liked them as a couple, I never felt their connection all that much. I didn’t feel the pull or the attraction. The plot revolved around the case and the action rather than the romance, which I’m typically fine with. But the relationship aspect of Eason’s newest novel was weaker than others I’ve read by her.
Speaking of the plot: It had too much. Too many potential targets. Was it Kristine? Andrew? What about this other character? Who’s going to next to face peril? Then Eason added in family drama for Andrew and some for Kristine. Then there’s a gang. And a separate organized crime boss only mentioned one or two times. I think Eason might’ve had too many ideas, and she tried to include them all. By doing so, the plot became convoluted. The “big reveal” closer to the novel’s end didn’t do much for me, either. I noted some warning sides as I read Final Approach, but things escalated too quickly.
Final Approach by Lynette Eason was my least favorite of the series. I still enjoyed it, but I struggled through some areas that made me scratch my head. An example that’s ridiculously small and minor: Why did the characters only seem to eat cheesecake and burgers? There are other options…you know, like sandwiches? But overall, I’m glad to have read the “Lake City Heroes” series. Lynette Eason is an impressive romantic suspense author.

Prepare for a wild ride as Andrew and Kristine seek to solve who is behind the hijacking!
I've read the previous books in the series but it's been so long that I don't remember the back stories of the other characters.
I had an inkling of who was involved about halfway through but wow was I surprised by the depth of the betrayal.
Kristine was my favorite character. She was so brave and had such compassion for those around her.
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the arc. The opinions are my own.

Filled with characters to root for, action and surprises. Kristine is an air marshal and is on a flight headed on vacation with her group of friends (which includes quite a few law enforcement officers) and the plane is hijacked. Can Kristine and the FBI agents gain control and save everyone on the plane? As the investigation continues they uncover more and more layers they are faced with danger. What is really going on and who is the intended target? In the midst of dealing with the work stuff characters are also dealing heavy personal stuff, family emergencies and such. So much going on. There were multiple twists and surprises along the way, some I had suspicions about and figured out, others took me completely by surprise. I was hooked and needed to know what was going to happen. I did feel that one character made a horrible choice near the end that put them and others in danger and that they really should have known better, but thankfully it worked out in the end. For side characters I have to say I loved Andrew's dad. My only negative is the friend/co-worker group is relatively large and it took me a while to place who was who and what their job was, if I had read the books closer to one another rather then as they release this probably wouldn't have been such an issue.

Kristen is an air marshal, Andrew is fbi and they and others in the team are on their way to have a vacation when a man wants to get into where the piolets are. do not want to say to much but if you like suspense and trying to figure out the bad guys who will want to read the story. well written could not put the book down, i was given a copy of the book but this is an honest review.
