Air Marshal Kristine Duncan and FBI special agent Andrew Ross are with their friends planning to spend time relaxing in the sun, but when they intercept a plane hijacking Kristine and Andrew know they are a long way from taking a vacation.

A fast-paced suspense that keeps you on your toes and guessing. There is a lot going on, with one thing after another. Andrew and Kristine are a great team and get to know each other better over the course of the case. I liked that we see lots of familiar faces. There are a lot of questions and not a lot of answers, I liked the high stakes suspense and nonstop action.

I also liked that Andrew and Kristine bonded over their commitment to their jobs and their Christian faith. Fantastic addition to the series, starts with a bang and doesn't slow down. Great characters, wonderful dialogue, and interaction that grows the relationship. Highly recommend.

When Kristine's plane faces an attempted hijacking on the way to a long-anticipated vacation, her plans for relaxation give way to a desperate scramble, along with FBI agent Andrew Ross, to discover the man or organisation behind the hijacker. And things just aren't making sense. Worse, danger follows their attempts to discover the answer, until it's uncertain whether they'll ever live to find the answer. Throw in an unacknowledged attraction between Kristine and Andrew, who each have baggage making a relationship difficult, and there's far more questions than answers. Could they make a relationship work? And will they uncover the culprit before that's a moot point anyway?

This kept me guessing but also eagerly watching the progress of Kristine and Andrew's relationship. It's clear from the start that they're attracted but neither feels ready to do anything about it, so I loved watching that change. But the suspense side of things was at least equally good in keeping me on my toes. I guessed little bits as we went along, but the full picture was a big surprise - a surprise of the best kind, because it made sense when it unfolded but I hadn't foreseen it. While part of a series, this is a complete standalone story, just sharing characters with previous books. All in all, a great read, the perfect mix of romance and suspense. Highly recommended.

The gang of law enforcement friends have earned a vacation and are on a flight to warmer climes. A hijacking cuts their trip short and they investigate who is behind it all. Air Marshal Kistine and FBI agent Andrew are put through their paces figuring out who is really the target of attempts on their lives. And is there a connection to any previous hijackings in the area?
Non-stop action from the first chapter and a confounding mystery stumps the team at every turn. With the complicated family dynamics of Kristine and the past trauma that haunts Andrew, they still rely on God to watch their backs and heal them. Kristine and Andrew grow close enough to see a future with each other.
Come along on a bumpy ride with flawed but competent characters whose faith is evident and whose friends are trustworthy. A compelling, suspenseful book.

Lynette Eason’s Final Approach will take you on a flight that’s fast paced, full of turbulence and twists and turns that’ll have you holding on tight while you continue to read “just one more page” until you finally land and realize you ended up somewhere totally different then where you thought you were going! This story is packed full of action and suspense! As part of a series, I think it’s best to read them in order, but they are all stand alone so you don’t have to. You’ll probably want to though :-) The characters are well written and feel real, with plenty of friends from prior books making appearances in this one as well. I read an advanced reader copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions in this review are truthful and my own. I definitely recommend this book!!

Lynette always writes interesting and entertaining stories. They never fall flat and always move along at a good pace. This one was no different. The thing was…because I’ve read so many of her books…I knew who was to blame at the very beginning based on where the blame has lied in her previous books. So really, I was just reading it to see how it would play out. But you’ll never regret reading one of her books. Unfortunately, for me, it just didn’t have the wow factor that always adds a layer of interest in books like this.

You would think that no one would attempt to hijack a plane with so many law enforcement agents on it. But, think again! Kristine and her friends are getting away for a much needed vacation, but things go awry and plans are cancelled after this happens. As Kristine and Andrew delve further into the circumstances that surround the hijacking I was feeling very much a part of the story.

Relational dynamics for Kristine’s family were strained with her siblings wanting nothing to do with their father and Kristine trying to maintain the peace. She didn’t realize that families like hers were not the norm until she meets Andrew’s family. They were a great encouragement to her and Andrew. I loved the twist of discovering more about Kristine’s mom and how the past played a part in the story.

The title was perfect for this story in many ways. I loved how Kristine had to face her fear of piloting and overcoming her inner thoughts of inadequacy. I really enjoyed reading it and hope that Hank, Andrew’s friend, will be featured in an upcoming book. If you are a lover of suspense and danger with a bit of romance, this is a book you will enjoy. It is part of the Lake City Heroes, but it can be read as a standalone.

4.5 stars

The first few pages of Final Approach may lull you into a false sense of security – this team of heroes we love so well, all on a plane on their way to a much-deserved vacation, the hint of romantic tension between Kristine and Andrew promising some sweet and swoony moments. But don’t unbuckle your seat belt just yet because a hijacker is about to take over. Or tries to, anyway. Unfortunately for him, the plane happens to be carrying an air marshal, two FBI agents, a fire marshal, an ER doctor, and a SWAT team. Which is exactly who *I* would want on my plane if it were being hijacked, but definitely not who the hijacker was hoping for. Or was he? Was it just a random act of attempted terrorism, or something targeted to one (or more) of our beloved Lake City heroes? (And I really do love this team of characters, which is no surprise because Lynette Eason excels at creating teams I hate saying goodbye to.)

These questions and more set off an intense investigation where, instead of answers, they just keep getting more questions – and I was here for it. Working it out in my head as they did the same, holding my breath as they dodged bullets and ramming cars and all manner of other threats to their lives in the process. And on top of all that (as if that wasn’t enough to keep me glued to the pages), Eason takes Andrew and Kristine through some tumultuous issues within their own families too. Needless to say, the tension is high in Final Approach, and you feel every bit of it as you stay riveted to the story. I wasn’t ever exactly sure what was going to happen next, even though I had theories, and I loved every minute of it. I’m also hoping this isn’t the last we see of Hank, Andrew’s former undercover partner. I found his story fascinating and the way Eason leaves things with him has me keeping an eye out (and fingers crossed) for our paths to cross again.

Bottom Line: This Lake City Heroes series by Lynette Eason has been outstanding, and while I hate to see it end (because I love these characters), Final Approach is the perfect send-off. High stakes, intense danger, raw emotions, layered investigations, strong friendships, meaningful faith, and – of course – a sweet romance all combine to keep you turning the pages well into the night. Kristine and Andrew are easy to root for, and their smart instincts (with a couple of exceptions lol) make the suspense side of things engaging and difficult to put down. Their friendship-to-more romance progressed at just the right pace, provided some gentle (and swoony) respites from the tension, and left me grinning more than once. You could read Final Approach without having read the rest of the series, but why would you? The other books are equally fabulous, and I highly recommend them too!

Final Approach is an outstanding final book in the Lake City Heroes series. I can honestly say I wish this series would continue for more books. Lake City is a marvelous setting. The characters are people I would love to have as friends. The way this group support each other is strengthening.
Kristine is an Air Marshall with twin siblings, a controlling father and tragedy in her past.
Andrew is an FBI agent with tough things in his near past.
As the book opens, the friends from other books in the series, Kristine and Andrew are on a flight headed out for a beach vacation. It doesn’t take long for the action and suspense to start, and it really doesn’t ease up until the end.
This book made me cry. The ending has such a sweetness after all the trials the characters face along the way.
You could read this book on its own, but the stories from the other books influence this one. The bond between the characters builds as the series goes along.
I recommend Lake City Heroes. It’s not an easy ride, but it is worth the time.
Thanks to Netgalley and Revell for the opportunity to read this book.

Good Read.
Kris Duncan, an Air Marshall, is flying with her friends, all law enforcement guys and gals, when
a hijacker attempts to take over the plane, intent on getting into the cockpit.
And the story spins out into a web of suspense, great intrigue and dangerous coincidences.
The characters are well known and well defined and the plot moves right along.
A tad too much reliance on the spirituality lift but still a really good book.
Very enjoyable read.

Final Approach, by Lynette Eason, is the fourth book in the Lake City Heroes series. This is a well written, fast paced story that is filled with mystery and suspense. While this is part of a series, this is also a great stand-alone story. The story has wonderful characters that care for others and work together nicely. I also appreciate the faith the team has and how it shows in their lives. I like how the members of the different agencies work together to find answers to the situation. This is a great suspenseful mystery that kept me guessing who was behind the plane hijacking and why. I also enjoyed the relationship Kristine has with her siblings despite their relationship with their father. Her background story is very interesting. I like how Andrew has concerns about his cousin, while his parents work towards helping him. The love and concern he has for his parents is inspirational.

"Final Approach" is a Christian romantic suspense. It's the 4th book in a series, but it works as a standalone. So someone hijacks a plane full of law enforcement officers on their way to a vacation in a certain city. He merely intended to divert the flight to another random town. Why did they never ask if a major crime was going to go down in the place they were headed to? Anyway, someone's pulling people's strings to manipulate them, and it was pretty obvious to me who was doing it. Whodunit became more obvious as events piled up and clues were found. I understand why Kristine didn't make the connection until the very end, but whodunit practically waved a flag with some of their statements which should have made someone look a little harder at whodunit for at least one event.

The main characters were likable, capable people who reacted realistically to events. Kristine and Andrew worked well together and supported each other. The suspense came from danger to several characters. There was no sex or bad language. Overall, I'd recommend this exciting story.

The action begins when the plane Christine and Andrew and their friends are on is hijacked and it doesn't stop until the end. There are lots of twists and turns to get to the truth. With each question answered more arise and they work together to solve the crime. This story has action, suspense, faith, romance, and friendship.

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.

WOW hold on for all the twists and turns in this book. Kristine, an air marshal, witnesses and stops a hijacking and Andrew , an FBI agent is on the same flight. They have a mutual attraction and work together with Andrew’s team to find who is behind the hijacking.

Little did Kristine know the twists and turns their investigation would bring about. If you like lots of action, twists and turns and a little romance this is the book for you!

This is a fast paced fun book. Both main characters have baggage they have to deal with to move forward and I love how they work together to deal with it. So many plot twists and turns that keep you guessing and a great finish to the series. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and series.
I received a ARC copy but the opinions are my own.

Great book, 3.5 stars

While a Christian book by description, this one wasn't over the top. Yes, there were references but nothing that I felt offensive or overdone. That said, it was a clean story, not too violent and with themes that you wouldn't normally associate with Christian novels.

When Kristine's last trip immediately before vacation gets interrupted by a hijacking, as an air marshall she steps in to prevent tragedy. Her friend group was also on the flight, mostly all law enforcement of one type or another, heading to vacation. Once they were back on solid ground, the investigation begins.

The author wove in many red herrings into the plot, and I absolutely never imagined who the real "bad guy" was. It shocked me!

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.

Kristine Duncan is an Air Marshall on vacation and stops a plane hijacking along with FBI Special Agent Andrew Ross. As they investigate the hijacking, attempts are made on their lives. This is a fast-paced mystery that I enjoyed reading. I would never have guessed the ending. There were twists and turns throughout the book.

The cabin erupted into chaos as the assailant, caught off guard, plunged the homemade weapon into his hostage’s shoulder….

This quote from Final Approach is a perfect example of how Lynette Eason always begins her story with a scene that could come from a movie. The intense interrogation of the would be hijacker, Marcus barely scratched the surface of the mystery Andrew and Kristine needed to unravel. The mastermind had used Marcus as a pawn, and this father’s actions, out of desperation, had a very strong impact on his family. I felt so bad for all of his children and the pain his actions caused his wife. As usual, Eason molds different types of family dynamics in a way that leaves me glued to the pages. Everyone had their reasons to wreck havoc on those around them, and that made this story even more interesting to read. A must read.

Air Marshal Kristine Duncan is on a flight to a vacation with her friends when a man attempts to hijack the plane. However, the attempt fails due to the presence of numerous law enforcement officers on board. After returning to Lake City, an investigation reveals that the man was paid to carry out the hijacking. FBI Special Agent Andrew Ross, who was also on the flight and eager to get to know Kristine better during the vacation, becomes involved in the case. Back home, as they work to uncover who hired the hijacker, an old friend reaches out to Andrew seeking protection, fearing his cover has been compromised. The story unfolds with plenty of twists and turns, unraveling who is behind what and their true motives.

Final Approach is suspenseful, action-packed addition to the series with recurring characters from other books. This is Kristine and Andrew's story. They are not dating but are interested in each other. The story starts off with a bang with all the friends on their way to Key West when their plane is hijacked. Kristine, an Air Marshall, takes control along with her friends, most in law enforcement. Andrew, an FBI agent and his partner take the hijacker in custody on the ground. As the group unravels the who, why, and so forth, old events are brought to the surface, including Kristine's mom's death. This story has suspense, danger, mystery, and many surprises along with faith and romance. A great addition to the series. I received a copy for the purpose of an honest review and these are my thoughts.
