This was one of my most anticipated reads of 2025 and I hit request as soon as I saw it was available. Sadly, it was such a let down for me.

First of all, the dynamic between the FMC and MMC was like a damp flannel. There was absolutely no chemistry between them and honestly, the whiplash I experienced was INTENSE. One minute they’re flirting and then they’re not talking etc for about 80% of the book. Then suddenly they’re all over each other cos they can’t get enough of each other and in love with each other. I know this is a work of fiction, but this was not believable in the slightest.

Secondly, Tris is unbearable. I couldn’t stand her from the beginning of the story. She hates herself but knows how great she is, which she points out often enough. She hates Rafe but will not shut up about him at any point. She’s meek and mild but buying LV luggage after blackmailing her bosses. Just no. She is not someone I’d want to meet.

Thirdly, the amount of smiles Rafe has is out of this world and half of the words in this story are about every different one of them. It got to a point where if I saw the word smile, I was skipping over that part.

This could have been so good. It has such a good premise. Unfortunately it fell majorly short.

A fantastic branch into contemporary romance for Tuli. Characters were likeable and believable, the setting was gorgeous and it was steamy without being too explicit.
I particularly loved that the romance wasn't the sole focus - looking at the marginalisation of women in STEM, particularly POC women was well done, demonstrating the daily micro-aggressions that aren't always visible to outsiders. I loved Trishara's final explosion at WMC - I've no doubt there are lots of readers that will wish they'd once done the same to an ex-employer!
I can't wait to see what comes next - whether fantasy or romance, I've no doubt it will be excellent.

ROMANCE IS BACK BABY! Where do I even start I have seen this book for months and I was so excited to see the Arc pop up and I had high expectations and it lived up to it! WOW! I loved everything about this, the tension between the main characters, this work place romance has the angst the steaminess, the slow burn it has it all. I devoured this book it was so good I could not put it down, the friendships that grew, the way the main characters opened up to each other. The annoying side characters who could not take a hint. The villain she wants to lead her to his lair being a knight without her knowing. He made her feel like she could conquer the world AND THEN SHE DID! Hell the book made me feel like I can conquer the world!

I absolutely loved this! A perfect workplace romance, filled with sharp banter, sizzling chemistry, and so many laugh-out-loud moments. Tris is such a relatable and strong heroine, and her dynamic with Rafe kept me hooked from start to finish. Their enemies-to-lovers tension was perfection, and the company retreat setting made everything even more exciting.

The humor in this book had me laughing constantly, and the romance was the perfect mix of fun, steamy, and heartfelt. I also really enjoyed how the story touched on real workplace challenges while still keeping things entertaining.

If you love clever, spicy romances with unforgettable characters, this is a must-read! I need more from Nisha J. Tuli in this genre ASAP!

Not Safe For Work brings a whole new meaning to the ‘only one bed’ trope.

Once again Nisha J. Tuli delivers a simmering slow-burn in this contemporary, spicy rom-com. Love me a belligerent FMC with a heart of gold and a swaggering simp of an MMC, and Tris and Rafe fit this mould perfectly.

NSFW is a perfect, fun, easy beach read, and the perfect level of steamy for the summer.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for granting me access to this book in return for an honest review.

Not Safe For Work has a high tension, slow burn romance between two office rivals, but the romance takes equal billing with a plotline that features heavier topics such as sexism, racism, harassment at work and generally awful office culture. I found some things that Trishara experienced uncomfortable because of how realistic they were, and it's just frustrating that this behaviour is still so common in the workplace. My only critique really is that Tris and Rafe weren't exactly winning awards for their professionalism either, both in their pre-relationship, rivals stage and in their getting-together, lust-haze stage.

I did binge this in one sitting and despite the serious topics, it was a fun read because it was well balanced.

I absolutely inhaled this book, once I started reading I couldn’t put it down. Enemies / rivals to lovers is one of my favourite tropes and this didn’t miss a beat. The banter had me laughing out loud, the sexual tension and the burn were delicious, and the more serious themes were handled with so much care and a clear personal passion to do them justice. I will always have so much time for authors who balance the realities and complexity of life and love, while still providing pure escapism and joy in their work.
This is one of favourite books of the year so far.
Off I go to find the fantasy worlds Nisha J. Tuli has cooked up, I’m sure more goodness awaits.
