I thoroughly enjoyed reading this very cute hockey romance and second chance romance story. I loved that the book was written from the perspective of both characters. I enjoyed reading about Ellis and Liam, and they are endearingly written characters with wonderful chemistry. Thank you to Tegan Phillips and NetGalley for this ARC!

This was a cute read and I enjoyed it for someone who doesn’t usually like the pregnancy trope but I thought it was done quite well. The disability representation was great and I loved the found family aspect of it.

This was a cute romance, with a trope that I have not explored yet. However, sometimes the plot seems to jump all over the place, as well as the way they fell in love was not that clear to me.

A second chance trope is my least favourite unfortunately but this book was a quick easy read for me. I felt so sorry for Ellis her life gets turned upside down even more she has to deal with a lot chronic illness plus she has a young son and she's now pregnant from a onenight stand which is even more complicated as it's her ex she had the one nighter with.
If you want a quick easy read and more indepth story this is one for you. It's not usually the sports books I read anymore but this one wasn't too bad.

This story has a great concept but I found it somewhat lacking compared to other sports romances I’ve enjoyed. I loved Ellis and Liam together but I found their jump into a one night stand somewhat realistic after spending so many years apart. Where was the longing? The slow burn? The synopsis advertises this book as ‘brimming with tension and lust’ but the angst and the tension I was expecting for a second chance romance was sadly missing. Everything happened very quickly and Liam’s reaction to the pregnancy was far too calm and collected for a playboy NHL player. I was waiting for some kind of drama, a gasp moment, but it just never came.
What I did love though was the single parent representation. Ellis is juggling so much with the care of her little boy as a single parent while living with a chronic illness and I felt that this side of her story with so much care and consideration. I genuinely felt for Ellis and wanted her to have the happy ending she deserved. There were some seriously tender moments throughout this book between Ellis, Liam and Jack. Watching Liam’s love grow for Jack and his unborn baby was such a heartwarming treat. I felt myself desperate to get through Ellis’ chapters so I could have more of Liam’s POV.
This book is also rich in found family vibes and I loved how Liam’s friends and hockey teammates all came together to give Ellis and her children the safety and security they so desperately needed and wanted. Overall this was a cute, easy romance road.
Thank you NetGalley for my arc copy of Melting Point 💕

Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for a review.
Ellis and Liam did the second chance romance so well. Usually, that trope is a miss for me, but I really loved their story and it was captivating and such a fun story to follow along. I also fell in love with little Jack and his and Liam's relationship was my absolute favorite part of this book.

Swoony, spicy, and totally addictive 🍦🔥. Melting For You is the perfect summer romance packed with humour, heat, and all the ice-cream shop vibes you could want. Tegan Phillips delivers sharp banter, irresistible chemistry, and lovable characters in this feel-good, flirty rom-com. A must-read for fans of steamy, sweet love stories with plenty of fun.

Honestly, I was so close to DNF-ing this. What even was this? I had such a hard time getting into it—both because of the writing style and how unlikable the characters were. It’s been a while since I’ve read a hockey romance, and I was really excited for this one, which made the disappointment even worse. The plot and overall execution just didn’t work for me.
The only reason I gave this one star is because of the mention and representation of fibromyalgia, an illness I’ve seen deeply affect someone close to me.
I think this story needed more time in the writing, research, and editing stages. It had potential, but it wasn’t well executed.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this ARC.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – Warm, Witty, and Wonderfully Real
Melting For You is a charming, heartfelt romance that delivers not just swoon-worthy moments and smart humor, but also a refreshingly authentic portrayal of chronic illness. Tegan Phillips crafts a protagonist who lives with fibromyalgia, and the representation is done with nuance and care—never defining the character, but instead integrating it realistically into her life, relationships, and choices.
The narrative balances emotional depth with lightness, offering a slow-burn romance that feels both cozy and complex. The writing is crisp and engaging, and while some plot beats lean toward the familiar, Phillips's unique voice and the thoughtful inclusion of invisible illness set this book apart.
Overall, this is a warm and uplifting read that doesn’t shy away from real challenges—and does so without turning them into a trope or tragedy. Highly recommended for romance fans looking for a love story with genuine heart and inclusive representation.
Thank you to NetGalley and Canelo for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

Wow! As if Ellis's life isn't complicated enough to start with! Chronic illness, a 5-year-old son and she's now pregnant to her ex from 10 years ago because of a one-night stand! Poor woman! That would have tipped me over the edge! Luckily Liam, the MMC, is awesome and helps out however he can, without being overbearing or belittling. Basically, he's almost perfect. This was a solid first book from Tegan and I want to congratulate them for the way she wrote about the FMC's chronic illness. It was so real but not cringy. I look forward to reading more, especially Lindsay and Aiden's story!
Big thanks to NetGalley and Tegan Phillips for a copy of this book. This is my honest opinion.

I wanted to like this book more than I did. The plot line is a good one but I just didn't feel it completely. Also the use of certain British terms on the writing style bothered me some. I do like that I touched on a health condition that many women have today. I'll probably read the next one because I wanted to know what happens to the other main characters. Thanks NetGalley for the advanced copy.

Melting For You is a solid second-chance hockey romance with good chemistry between the leads. I really appreciated the chronic illness representation and how it was woven into Ellis’s story. While it may not become my favorite in the hockey romance genre, it was an enjoyable, engaging read that delivered on the tension and heart.

The one thing I appreciated about this book was the representation of chronic illness. Unfortunately, the second-chance romance between Ellis and Liam didn’t work for me. The story felt too drawn out, and there was too much inner dialogue and miscommunication. I really wish there had been more healthy communication between the characters.
Thanks to the author, Hera Books, and NetGalley for the advanced copy.

I didn't love the writing style. I found it quite info dumpy and we ended up hearing a lot about what the characters thoughts and feelings instead of actually seeing the story happen.

This was just nah. I read it quite quickly, but I wasn´t really immersed in this story. Ellis's behavior was pissing me off quite a lot. I understand that she had insecurities because of her chronic illness, but she wasn´t really communicating with Liam as an adult should. Also, nothing really happened in this book and I think give me 3 days and I will have no clue what it was about.

Second chance, single mom, accidental pregnancy hockey romance.
MCs who dated in college and were separated when MMC left for the NHL and are reunited 10 years later at a bar which results in what she hopes is a one night stand. The book follows their journey back together, layering in the balancing of his career, her chronic illness and her son. This was a quick read, with authentic own voice telling of pregnancy with chronic illness. The will they/won't they got a bit overplayed in the middle and the conflicts that came up felt manufactured (and wouldn't happen in real life) to extended the book, but overall it was a good start to a series and I am excited to read the next book.

I like the cover, it suits the book.
The book is so entertaining that I read it within a few hours.
The characters are likeable and fit together well. They round off the story.
The setting is well described and the writing style is relaxed and easy.
A clear reading recommendation from me!!!!!

I have never read anything by this author, but I will be looking out for other books they write in the future. I really enjoyed the story as well as the pacing of the story.

Thank you to NetGalley and the team for the ARC. This was such a sweet read. It was heavy, it was emotional, there was plenty of angst, but there was also fluff and love.
I cried for the poor FMC who had to go through her first pregnancy all by herself and this time when the MMC stepped up, I was in tears. 😭
Our FMC's struggles with chronic pain resonated with mine and though mine is not as severe as hers, I felt her frustrations and agony. I believe the author also struggles with the same diagnosis as her character, which was probably why it felt so real and all the more painful.
The FMC annoyed me a few times with her non-communication, jumping to conclusions and frustrating decisions but at the same time, I understand her. Maybe that's why it hurt more.
Fortunately, Liam was so mature, supportive, communicative and was basically gentle parenting her. Everytime Liam interacts with Jack, I'm tearing up 🥺😭
Overall, this is a beautiful second chance romance book that tugs on your heartstrings and may make you tear up over your hot chocolate. ❤️

Overall there were some elements of this book I really loved, but a lot missed the mark.
What I loved:
I loved the chronic disease representation! I didn't know a lot about fibromyalgia, and I really appreciated the insight of what life is truly like for someone with this disease.
The found family was great, I really enjoyed reading about the side characters and the hockey team boys.
Liam was so sweet and kind, I loved how he would do anything for Ellis, and his nickname sunshine was the sweetest.
The relationship between Liam and Jack was also really sweet to read. I loved that Liam just dove right in to fatherhood.
What I didn't love:
There was literally no reason why Ellis and Liam couldn't have a conversation about what type of relationship they wanted. Instead it dragged out for way too long, and the inner dialogues and miscommunication drove me insane. It was too much.
I felt like the open door scenes were unnecessary... I don't mind them when they lend to the story or give more context into intimacy, but I felt that was lacking here.
It was way too early to hear the heartbeat and have an external sonogram when Ellis did. I don't mean to be picky, but if you're going to write about pregnancy I feel it needs to be properly researched.
Speaking of... this five year old was not written as a typical five year old at all. No way they would've asked someone to "have a talk by the water" and discuss marriage and babies...
The bed rest made no sense. One minute she couldn't walk around and go down steps and then the next minute they were on a date walking around and eating.
I found there were a lot of contradictions overall. She was starving but then passed out because she had no appetite, she loved him but didn't know if she did, she wanted Liam to be with her but then she didn't...
Overall, I think she had some great ideas and some very sweet moments, and this had a lot of potential, but this could've really used some editing.
