As a true crime girI ate this up. I really enjoy true crime audio books and the Zodiac case is one i could listen to over and over

A quick recap of the zodiac killer, that I’d say was a fantastic resource for anyone who doesn’t already know a lot of the facts of the case. I was unaware of the huge online community that still “investigate” the murders . For me personally there wasn’t much in the way of new, but that by no means discredits the authors work, in fact Michael Butterfield lays out a concise piece, from what I could tell without much conjecture and in reasonable chronological order.
What held my interest most was the overview of TV, film and book collections that take inspiration from are or based on the killer, I mean I knew the majority of them were out there but to hear them listed all as one was quite something, we are strange creatures us humans. Maybe he’ll still be held accountable.
The audio narration was really good, I quite like a fast pace but I did have to slow it down a little.
Huge thanks to Arcturus Digital Audio and NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to this ALC 🎧

The Zodiac Killer is a true crime book. I have listened to many podcasts and their versions of this story. Michaels version is very detailed and is laid out in order of events. Which makes it so much easier to read. Lots of information on the victims, the evidence collected, the accused, inspirations, where he got his sources etc..
I found this really interesting and enjoyed it. It’s scary to think this man was never caught. He could have been our neighbour, our boyfriend, our brother… who knows!! 5⭐️

This case is still chilling all these years later. The author really researched all aspects of the case and presented the facts. I love that he also gave a voice to the victims and didn't just focus on the "serial" killer. Lovers of true crime will love this. I found the audio easy to follow.

More than 50 years after the Zodiac Killer mysteriously vanished, his crimes and letters still haunt the world.
I listened to this on audio and I found it really engaging and easy to listen too. I thought this looked at all the facts available and separated well the fiction from the facts. Would definitely recommend for true crime fans.
Thank you to Netgalley, Arcturus Digital Audio and Michael Butterfield for an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Michael Butterfield’s research into this case appears to be extensive and he presents the facts in objective order. The Zodiac killer is a case that’s given rise to speculation over some five decades and as far as I’m aware, there’s still no definitive proof that the killer was identified. The killer was unbelievably cruel and Butterfield doesn’t shirk from detail of the crime. Sadly, as always, it’s the perpetrator rather than the victims who’s remembered so I found this title interesting in that he gave the victims a voice, They were in the wrong place at the wrong time.
The narration throughout is excellent. The detail is dense and there’s a lot to take in. In addition to the crimes, Butterfield considers all the distractions and misdirections associated with the case, including the involvement of police officers with an agenda of their own. It feels like a comprehensive account and if you like true crime, this hits the spot.
My thanks to the publisher and Netgalley fir an early review copy.
