Five years ago, Fiona's sister disappeared without a trace. Fiona is determined to find answers. Going undercover, she rents a room in a house that her sister last stayed in before her disappearance. It is a bit of a creepy place. The landlady is weird and her son gives Fiona the creeps. But it will be worth it if Fiona can find out what happened to her sister. Little by little she pieces things together while diving into her sister's past life.

Some twists were a little predictable and others were surprising. But overall, I just really liked the story! I like this author's writing style and her ability to tell a captivating story is amazing. The tension started from the very first page and continued all the way until the end. I was fully invested - it was super hard to put this one down. Overall, I really well written thriller!

Thank you to Inkubator Books and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

In I Know You Saw Her, Ann Girdharry delivers a gripping psychological thriller steeped in mystery and tension. When Fiona takes on a new identity to investigate the disappearance of her sister Amy, she finds herself drawn into the same eerie world Amy once inhabited—a boarding house full of unsettling characters and long-buried secrets.

The atmosphere is claustrophobic and chilling, with every creak of the floorboards and sideways glance hinting at something sinister. Girdharry masterfully unravels the mystery through Fiona’s determined search for answers, leading readers down a dark and twisty path of lies, obsession, and danger.

Tautly written and emotionally charged, I Know You Saw Her explores how far someone will go for the truth—and what it costs to uncover it. A must-read for fans of slow-burning thrillers with strong female leads and haunting revelations.

This was an intense thriller. The first half of the book was a page turner, with suspenseful twists.
I felt the second half was a little confusing.
This was an entertaining read, but some scenarios felt a bit far fetched. Frustrating characters got under my skin at times. Overall, a solid psychological thriller that was engaging.

Loneliness, guilt, and grief has the ability to materialize a type of strength and resiliency that was originally nonexistent. Fiona has a determined, sometimes irrational, drive to find out what happened to her sister. Plagued with regret and starved for love, Fiona will stop at nothing to find Amy. Her plan was simple, yet love, friendship, and mental illness creates unforeseen roadblocks in her quest. I Know You Saw Her was a really good read, and I was pleasantly surprised as I turned each page and accompanied Fiona on her quest through each dip and turn in the plot. I would recommend this read!

📚 E-ARC BOOK REVIEW 📚

I Know You Saw Her By Ann Girdharry
Publication Date: May 11, 2025
Publisher: Inkubator Books

📚MY RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨
(Rounded Up To 5⭐)

Thank you to Inkubator Books and NetGalley for this #gifted e-ARC in exchange for my honest review!

📚MY REVIEW:

I Know You Saw Her was one of those suspenseful and tense thrillers where there's a pervasive sense of foreboding on every page. I read this unhinged psychological thriller in one sitting and loved every single minute of it!

Told in dual timelines from the dual POVs of sisters Fiona and Amy, this was one of those reads where you trust no one and feel as if everyone is just one spontaneous decision away from going completely off the rails.

Here's the gist: Five years ago, Fiona’s big sister Amy vanished without a trace. Determined to find out what happened to her, Fiona assumes a new identity and rents a room in the same boarding house where Amy once lived. And this place is creepy, with a capital C. The landlady speaks to people who aren’t there while her son Keith silently observes Fiona from the shadows. Little by little, Fiona starts to piece together the truth about the life her sister was living – and the web of secrets and lies in which Amy became entangled.

Reading the story from the POVs of Fiona in present time and Amy 5 years ago was brilliant! The alternating short chapters kept me on the edge of my seat as I tried to figure out which of the suspicious people in Amy's world had to do with her disappearance. It seemed like both Fiona AND Amy were surrounded by people who were manipulative (at best), gaslighters (at least), or potential killers (at worst).

While I do have to admit that I immediately guessed one of the twists and predicted another one too, there was still a huge twist that I DID NOT see coming. And it was THIS unexpected twist that made me love this book the most, because I don't think it's a common one.

I was REALLY close to calling this a 5⭐ read, and it was only the predictability of a couple twists that stopped it a little short for me. However, even guessing those twists couldn't stop me from flying through this suspenseful read and loving the wild ride!

You'll love this read if you love unhinged characters as much as I do, if you love wondering if someone is a gaslighter (or just weird), and if you love twisty stories that keep you guessing! I'm looking forward to more of this author's backlist -- and this one is available NOW!

This book was full of twists and turns and had my jaw dropping at every turn! This is a new to me author and it certainly won’t be the last book I read by her.

The mystery kept me on the edge of my seat and I just kept reading until I could figure out what was going on. I never saw the twists coming even though I was taking guesses throughout the entire book on who could possibly be the one at fault.

I will definitely be reading more from this author.

Fiona & her sister Amy were always close but when Amy moves away for university they drift apart until Amy suddenly goes missing one day & hasn't been seen or heard of since. Several years later, Fiona rents a room in the same house where Amy had been living & pretends to be a new student all so she can find out what happened to Amy.

The house is shabby & in bad repair & her landlady acts oddly at times. Meanwhile the landlady's son seems annoyed with Fiona for no reason & watches her silently. The only bright spots seem to be a tentative friendship with Amy's BFF, & a burgeoning relationship with her landlady's charming nephew, but someone has a secret they’ll do anything to protect.

This started off well but the twists quickly became far fetched & yet remained oddly predictable. Fiona, who was supposed to be there to investigate her sister's disappearance, saying she'll trust no-one, immediately falls for someone she hardly knows. She was difficult to warm to as a main character & I also felt that the ending was unsatisfactory. Overall this is a slightly disappointing thriller. 3.25 stars (rounded down)

My thanks to NetGalley & publisher, Inkubator Books, for the opportunity to read an ARC.

This was a creepy suspense novel that I raced through. Fiona is determined to find out what happened to her sister Amy who disappeared five years previously. When she assumes a new identity and takes a room in the boarding house where Amy lived, we're introduced to a cast of complex characters, all of whom are suspicious. This is a fast-paced, twisty thriller, packed with lies, romance and heart-stopping moments. I really enjoyed it.

Thank you to Ann Girdharry, Inkubator Books and Netgalley for my advance copy.

This book had me gripped from the start.

Just when I think I’ve worked it out there’s a twist. The ending was a surprise and didn’t go the way I thought (not a bad thing). Lots of twists and turns all the way through. Thoroughly recommend this book.

I know You Saw Her by Ann Girdharry his was a new author for me. In general this is one of my favorite genres but I never really connected with the characters in the story line. The story line was a little too far fetched to keep me interested. I did finish the book, and would recommend it to others because I know not everyone enjoys the same type of books.

I received and ARC from NetGalley and the publisher, and I am leaving my review voluntarily.

I Know You Saw Her by Ann Girdharry is a tense and gripping psychological thriller full of secrets, lies, and deception.

Five years ago, Fiona's sister Amy went missing. Needing to know what happened to her sister, Fiona takes on a new identity and rents a room in the boarding house where Amy used to live. Desperate for answers, Fiona will do anything to learn the truth. But the boarding house is full of dark secrets, the landlady talks to people who are not there, and her son Keith is always watching Fiona's every move. The more she digs into her sister's life, the more secrets come to light and the more danger Fiona faces.

This was the first book from this author that I have read and I definitely enjoyed it! Short, punchy chapters kept the pace steady and pretty easy to read. This is definitely one of those books where you don't know who you can trust! The twists were well placed and I especially liked the dual POV. The only thing that I had an issue with was I felt that Amy's chapters somewhat slowed down the pacing. Overall I would recommend this to fans of Claire Douglas and Shalini Boland.

Thank you to NetGalley, Ann Girdharry, and Inkubator Books for this ARC!! Publication date is May 11th 2025.
