I read this book over a two day period and it kept me turning the page wondering what was next. This book is good if you enjoy thinking what the heck is going on here multiple times while reading it. You kind of know but your curiosity keeps you going.
The real story in this book is truly people with scarred lives and how that affects their psyche. Unfortunately, the main character suffers at the hand of her mother but also shows that being with that mother left the MFC with certain tendencies, but things broke in her for her to fully come into being.
This is definitely the book that you read, wondering what went on and as the puzzle pieces fall into place the story becomes clear.
A great story! 5 stars!

oh this book was so good. i was hooked. from the got go the character intrigued me. i wanted to know her story. i wanted to know her pat and what brought her to being in the position she was. i also wanted to shake her at times to open her eyes to what was actually in front of her. and i wanted to then shake others to stay away!
i wanted to know the secrets that made a woman create a new person and hide in a new place. and what happens when that life starts to unravel. how do you keep your secrets. how do you keep your now. how do you heal from the past. and can the two work without the other happening. but there are people who dont want to help you on that road. so what then? bravery...lots of bravery and i was here for this journey. it was gripping and tense and a fab thriller. the questions you ask the author answers and some moments were guessable but in all the teasing good ways. and something things i didnt guess at all in all best gotchya moments. i thought Julia as a character was so well crafted. i could really feel and see her and felt her emotional roller coaster. i understood so much of what she went through and it felt like Delancey did a great job of giving us her story with reel depth and feeling.

I've just hovered over 4 or 5 stars with this one. I'll admit, the first few chapters I was unsure. I kept reading but I just wasn't as gripped as I like to be when reading, but thankfully I kept going and before long the story had completely swallowed me and I was lost in it (in a good way not a confused way). Some things that happened I'd already guessed that it would be something like that but it didn't spoil it at all. It was suspenseful and it wasn't long before I just had to read more and more, I needed to know what would happen and when it would all come together. I will definitely be recommending this to others.

Julia has secrets. her name isn't her own, the place where she lives is not her hometown and when she meets Sebastian everything she has tried to hide seems to unravel piece by piece.
This is one of those WOW books. It is gripping and intense and brilliant.
I loved the authors storytelling and how Julias life came apart. I found myself trying to tell her to open her eyes.
I loved this..

Never in the Mirror follows the stories of Julia and Lanie through two alternating POVs and timelines through an evocative narrative that is incredibly cinematographical. I pictured myself drivig around the LA canyons with Lanie, walking around Cabo San Lucas with Sebastian, talking to Marilyn about... well, you'll have to read this book to find out!
An absolutely page-turner, Delancey Stewart has delivered a masterpiece!
