This felt like a bit of an average book for me. I never really got into it. The characters were pretty bland in my eyes. I mean, they both had really cool animal sidekicks (a horse and a wolf) but other than that...I just felt there wasn't all that much going for them.
Jack and Hero really never seemed to me to really get to the point I felt they were really friends. By the end it still felt like that weren't that bothered by the other.
The story had potential. But it just...I don't know, left me feeling a bit flat reading it.
Chrimes has better books in their catalogue, but this to me wasn't their best work, sadly.

This is such a lovely story about family and doing what feels right. Hero is from a very privileged family, but on her next birthday her life will be changed when she becomes betrothed. She doesn't want this so she runs away and becomes a highwaygirl. She meets a highwayman and their adventures lead them to discover things about themselves they never knew. There are Fallings out, injuries and hurtful words. Will they both get what they want in the end?

This one is a fast-paced page-turner. It is however at times difficult to follow as the narrative switches from one chapter to another. The storyline is very original but I somehow feel that it might be better if it is told consistently through one perspective.
