Every year a pretend case opens up for the students, but this year the murder is real!
Xander is found in a greenhouse - the exact location and posion described by the case brief given out but he is all too dead.
When her ex-best friend Sienna is accused of the murder and convicted, she must decide if it is worth putting away a grudge to put the murderer behind bars.
It was fun and enjoyable, to be honest her best friend really annoyed me but that was a me thing! It hits mystery YA (probably lower YA, in my opinion, and i think it would be great if 12+ wanted to read some mysteries because it doesn’t delve into any darker topics beyond murder).
Romance Rating: Sweet
Violence Rating: Level 3

This was a hard one for me to get into. I loved the premise, but it dragged and then got a bit confusing in the timeline and who is who. However, it is solidly written and would be a good rec for teens or people into YA and not as into Dark Academia but love light crime fic. Bonus that my former married name was Everett (or should that take away points?) :)

Firstly thankyou to NetGalley, Bonnier books uk and Lauren Munoz for approving me to receive this e-arc.
Once again, just like ‘suddenly a murder’ I couldn’t put this book down. I love a good YA mystery and this didn’t disappoint.
The story is filled with plot twists to keep you turning those pages, hoping you’ve figured out who’s done it before another twists proves you wrong. I enjoyed the fact that while Dulce and her friends were trying to solve a mystery at school she was also trying to figure out a personal mystery of her own at the same time.
For those who enjoyed A Good Girls Guide To Murder, i think you’d love this.

I really enjoyed the premise of this book and the high school which seemed like the school of my dreams! A school for those interested in mysteries? An annual game that goes wrong? Sign me up!
Beyond the central mystery, there was a really beautiful depiction of friendship breakdown between Dulce and Sierra which added a great touch to the typical murder mystery plot.
An enjoyable read though at times it could feel like it was a bit too slow and it certainly took a while before we get to the actual murder. Saying that, the finale was great!

I was a really big fan of Lauren Muñoz other book and this one didn’t let me down. I would recommend going in blind, but had all the thing twists that you want from a murder mystery.

Thank you to Bonnier Books UK and Netgalley for approving me to read this book, I’m rating it 3.5 stars.
I really enjoy YA mystery, it’s always so devoted to a good twist and a likeable detective who really follows the clues. This book had a good plot, I liked the unique school setting and I like the way there was a separate background mystery our FMC tries to piece together while she’s in the midst of a murder mystery at her school.
Highly recommend for fans of A Good Girls Guide to Murder.

This was a twisty book!
I really appreciated how Lauren Muñoz was determined to keep me on the edge of my seat throughout all of this, throwing clues at me here and there, with a red herring or two mixed in…
This was a well plotted mystery and I love how it had several story threads all weaving in to the one. For example, the truth behind Dulce’s mothers death, the friendship breakdown of Sierra and Dulce, and various other characters suspicious backstories…
I did guess who the murderer was and I thought it was a clever reveal, and, again, well plotted. To say much more about this would be to give more away!
I liked how this took place in a school designed to encourage and teach about how to solve a murder, I thought that was quite unique and not something you often see. I would be interested in a potential sequel that has Dulce and co unravel the truth behind the mystery that started the founding of the school…
I think this was a good book with an enjoyable and well paced mystery, and I think this would be fantastic and thrilling for younger readers who are getting in to reading or whom are getting in to reading this genre.

Oof, talk about being hooked. I loved the central plot of this book immediately and it took absolutely nothing to get reading and keep reading.
With a name like ‘Murder high’ it promises everything I enjoy in a book of this kind. The high school setting, murder mystery and teen, YA element were all spot on and as the story unravelled, I became more compelled to keep turning through the pages.
The characters were easy to like and easy to follow. With a murder early on in the book, it meant it pulled me into the mystery from the get go and with a continual injection of drama, there was no chance I was putting this down anytime soon. I always looked forward to going back to this and it was a fab read right to the end.

This book has the exact addictive nature I hope to find when I pick up a young adult crime novel, a diverse cast of characters (in crime novels such as this which have a large cast of characters I feel this is crucial as to not get confused) that are all flawed while each having qualities that you can't help but feel admiration for, and even though you may suspect different people at different points you still find yourself understanding the complicated lives these characters are living in. The murder itself was unique, the prologue sequence was highly intriguing, but I think the huge step backwards in the timeline of events immediately after did slow down the initial pace of the story for me. However these scenes before the crime took place were overall important, and once the crime had happened the plot was well and truly underway. I would recommend this to any crime fiction fan I know.

A group of criminology students find out just how good their skills really are the hard way, when their school's annual staging of a crime to test their deductive abilities goes horribly awry with the unexpected appearance of a real corpse...
This one will definitely appeal to fans of Holly Jackson and other YA mystery writers. Good fun, and worth checking out if you enjoy the genre! It gets 3.5 stars.

Really good ya mystery, fast paced and enough depth to the characters to make them enjoyable without it taking away from the overall story. Lots of twists and turns and I spent the whole book constantly second guessing myself about who I thought had done it, the ending was fantastic!
