This was a wonderful, light, breezy kind of book. It was perfect for reading at this time of year!

A sweet romance, Wendi and Miles meet years after a childhood incident and discover that they were meant to be. Both Wendi and Miles have personal issues that complicate their lives but their love of each other (and her dog Max) is not complicated and I loved how strong their relationship was. Such a sweet romance that kept my attention, although there were some slow moments and a bit of repetitive self reflection. Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and author for this read.

Thank you to Netgalley, the publishing house and the author for the opportunity to read this book.

This book was the ideal one to read right after my heavy thriller that I completed. It was fluffy, light and cute. The author did a great job of getting me to feel in the moment for the characters and what they were feeling. It was romantic and hopeful and the author managed to portray all this without being cheesy.
The dog Max really tied the book together and brought everyone to their happy ever after.
I also appreciated how accurate he portrayed the father and his condition that they had to work through. Pick this book up, you will not be disappointed.

A book full of such care and tender moments. There is such love and kindness filtered all the way through this book. And how, awareness and support can truly make it all possible and worthwhile.
And that is just what all our characters need.
Wendi has come home to a place she remembers with a fond heart, especially of one boy she met. But life since hasn't been easy. And the city has all but burnt her out. So with all she has left she goes and open a art shop in Hadley Cove.
Also there is the now grown boy she met long ago. He's also home for some peace but also to care for his father who getting alot worse with his dementia. But one thing that helps is doing art. And that what bring him and his dad to look for supply's at Wendy's store. And the connection is true and real.could it be almost like a new peace has been found in each of their souls.
But there are things to come which will mean strength will be needed. Can they find the solutions together. Can they finally feel home.

I enjoyed this so much!
I loved the meetings again later in life! I guess in other words 2nd chances again.
I simply couldn't put Wendi's story down itnwas so very good!
I had no idea this was a series though but I think you can read it as a stand alone.
Wonderful story line that made me sniffle at times and smile at other times.
This was just a great book all around that I didn't want to end.
I got to visit a place without ever leaving my home and I learned of a subject that was very heartbreaking.
It's sad to lose someone even though they are there in body but not mind.
5 stars for a job well done and for keeping my attention all the way through.
I recommend a box of tissues.
My thanks for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine

As always love the stories by this author.
I only wish Hadley Cove was a real place as I would definitely be visiting, maybe staying forever

After individual traumas, young Wendi and Miles meet at the beach. Sensing his great loss, she gives him her beloved shell telling him it's magic. Decades later, they reconnect at the same beach thanks to her dog. Neither one has forgotten the other.

I love the writing of this book. The descriptions of the landscapes, smells and sounds make me feel like I can close my eyes and picture the scene. It evokes emotions from anxiety and sadness to anticipation to panic and fear to happiness and joy.

The connection between Wendi and Miles seemed rushed. Also, Arthur's disease portrayal seemed unrealistic to me.

Overall, it was an enjoyable book. I would recommend.

Thank you to Netgalley for an advance copy in exchange for my honest review.

Since the Day We Left is the fifth book in Kerk Murray’s Hadley Cove Sweet Romance series. In my opinion, it can easily be enjoyed as a standalone. I loved it and now plan to go back and read the first four books in the series.

The book was such a sweet and heartwarming story. It's perfect for readers who enjoy a clean romance.

Another sweet book set in Hadley Cove!

Wendi was burned out working her high pressure NYC job, and returned to the slower pace of Hadley Cove to open up an art store/studio. Unfortunately, a year later, business hasn't been great and she is considering returning to NY just to survive. But Hadley Cove is peaceful for her, and has memories from her childhood, some great and some not so much. One of those great memories is of a troubled boy she met on the beach one day, sharing a precious item with him.

Arthur is struggling with early dementia and his son Miles comes back to Hadley Cove to help out and assess the situation. Arthur loves painting and does it every day at the cove. Miles sees that Arthur is better while painting. When the two of them go to Wendi's business to buy supplies, Miles and Wendi feel an attraction. They work together to find solutions, but will they also grow together? What other surprises await?

If you like small town, sweet, clean romance stories, this book is for you!

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.

The Hadley Cove series is one that I'm enjoying every time I get a new book! It's the perfect small town where you'd not only want to visit but live there as well! The characters from previous books keep coming back to visit which is always fun. Wendi and Miles met briefly as children and now many years later run into one another again when he comes home to help his dad who has Alzheimer's. She has an art store that is barely hanging on and in meeting Miles and Arthur gets a little extra help with an art auction to help keep her going. This is a short but sweet romance and if you've read the others in this series, you will enjoy this as well. I feel like it can be read as a stand-alone but it's much more fun to read the whole series!

Many thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review. All opinions are my own.

a heartfelt and deeply moving story about love, loss, and the enduring bonds that shape us. Kerk Murray writes with honesty and tenderness, crafting characters whose journeys feel both personal and universal. It’s a poignant reminder of how leaving isn’t always the end—it can be the beginning of healing. A touching, beautifully told novel that stays with you.

This was a quick read and a cute story of two people that met when they were kids come back together.
They were originally brought together by a sea shell and now surprisingly are drawn back together. They characters that are to be a couple didn't have much more chemistry than just friends.. Again the animals are the stars that bring people together and make everyone happy.

thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the arc.

A feel good, easy romance book. I found this to be an ok read, I didn’t realise it was book 5 and think it would be better to read the whole series to kinda know what’s going on. I also thought the book was too short and felt rushed, would have liked another hundred pages or so to spend more time with the characters

Thank you for letting me read the book in advance!

I felt for all of the characters and wished we had more time with them, their back stories and healing processes. Especially the relationship between Miles and Wendi is very heartwarming.
Even the dog Max was very endearing.

I downloaded this from netgalley because someone highly reviewed it but I really struggled with it.
Maybe because it is the fifth book in a series. I did not know at the time of reading it since I like to dive in without knowing much about a book sometimes when it is recommended to me.
