The Dream Mirrors by Megan Mary is the second installment of the Witches of Maple Hollow Series. In this second book, after the disappearance of her friends, Hannah uses a magical system of portals and dreams to find them in this Fantasy Mystery.
The narration by Pearl Hewitt gave it a Middle School/YA feel and found myself going back to the eBook to read it instead of listening to the audio.
While I am sure it will be helpful to read the first book, I was able to easily and quickly catch up on the mechanics of the world and magic system without reading the first installment. I do recommend this book for those who like a slow burning mystery in a fantasy backdrop and don't like complex magic systems.
Thank you Inner Realms Publishing and NetGalley for the opportunity to read the ARC and listen to the ALC. All opinions are my own.

This really didn’t seem to align with the first book in the series. This felt more like a life lesson that a sequel. It also felt like really childish? Like maybe middle grade level reading.

When I saw that this audiobook had themes of metaphysics and magic, I was intrigued: I was hoping for something to stretch my mind and hook me into a new series.
As it turns out, I am in fact not the target audience for this audiobook. I love fantasy. I love and have read a lot of philosophy. But this is almost a light, introductory volume for high school students in its language, and the narration makes it sound like a child’s bedtime story, for all the narrator’s talent.
At one point, I had to refer back to the page on NetGalley and check that I hadn’t accidentally signed up for something middle grade or YA.
I guess that if you had never heard of dream-interpretation, this might be a light, fictional way into the idea. If, however, you’re already familiar with Jungian approaches, this is going to feel a bit flimsy.
I listened to the end in order to be fair and give the book a chance to go deeper, or to appeal to the adult reader I am, but found it ultimately as annoying and as trite as Paulo Coelho’s work. I will obviously not be reading further work by the author, but I would recommend this to younger readers.
My 3 star rating is given in acknowledgment that I was misled by the blurb into thinking this was something it wasn’t. Someone other than me might really enjoy it.

"What might appear as the real world to others is simply a collective illusion we all agree to stamp as reality."
In the time Hannah has lived in Skye Manor, she has learned a lot about herself and about magick. When a portal ceremony goes terribly wrong, endangering several guests, Hannah must look within herself for the answers. Has she learned enough to save them?
Tropes and story components:
-good v evil
-powerful heroine
-race against the clock to solve a mystery
-magick and metaphysical ability
-spirit guides
content warnings:
-previous death of family members mentioned
comments:
I also ARC read the first book in this series.
I dont recommend this book if you aren't interested in the metaphysical. This book felt less like a story than book 1 did and more like a short tale constructed around a lesson as a teaching method. A lot of this book is Hannah being taught by magickal mentors.
There were still entire sections that I, personally, would print and frame and display in my house, because I am interested in the subject matter, and Megan Mary's insight into the subject is profound.
overall, I still enjoyed the book and will continue the series.
Quotes that deserve honorable mentions:
"Being unaware does not relinquish our responsibility to see."
"Never look outside yourself for answers that lie within."
Narration:
the audiobook narrator was easy to understand, spoke fluidly, and did a good job representing the characters and the story.
Thank you to netgalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Short and sweet!!
This is book #2 in the Witches of Maple Hollow Series, so if you haven’t read book #1, I’d suggest you do that first!
We return to Maple Hollow on a very special night, with special implications and meanings. The ‘witches’ are trying to open a portal during this special time…but, sometimes things don’t always go as planned. 😕
So, when people start to go missing, the girls need to find out what exactly is going on!
As with book #1, this one delves into Magicks, dreams, (and interpretations of them), and magical realms that may happen with the right mindset! And the pictures that the author creates in your mind while reading?? Just Spectacular!!
If this kind of book appeals to you, please don’t miss this one!
#TheDreamMirrors by #MeganMary and narrated nicely by PearlHewitt.
4 big, magical ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for me!!!
And the cover? Beautiful! Magical!!
*** RELEASE DATE is 5/30/25 ... SO LOOK 👀 FOR IT ON SHELVES SOON!!! ***

I was able to listen to this as an audio. This was not a bad book. It just wasn’t for me.
This is the second book in the series highly recommend reading the first one, but you can get away with not reading the first one and so kind of follow along. This is about slightly secret witches on an ancestry island that is always in an autumn. Both dreams and mirrors take precedent in the story and our mentioned a lot along with pumpkins and cats.
I’m still not real sure what I read about this book kind of felt like one of those weird dreams, but with this book that seems to be on par.

*received for free from netgalley for honest review* Fun, short witchy read, i enjoyed this series and would read more

**Review: *The Dream Mirrors* by Megan Mary**
Solid 3.5 to 4 stars from me! *The Dream Mirrors* turned out to be a surprisingly immersive and engaging listen. I hadn’t read the first book in the series, but once I got past the first couple of chapters, I was fully caught up and deeply invested in the story. Megan Mary does a wonderful job crafting a vivid, dreamy world that pulled me in, whether I was working, doing chores, or simply relaxing.
The world-building was one of the standout aspects — rich, flowing, and easy to sink into. The narration in the audiobook truly enhanced the experience for me. The pacing, tone, and emotion brought the story to life in a way that reading alone might not have done. It felt like slipping into another reality while going about my day, and that’s exactly what I love about well-done audiobooks.
Even without reading the first book, I never felt lost, which speaks volumes about the storytelling. I’d definitely recommend it, especially if you enjoy surreal, emotionally layered narratives and are open to starting a series a bit out of order. I’m curious to go back and read the first one now!

Loved the concept and unique take on dreams, but I wished it went a little deeper. Still worth checking out if you're into intuitive dreamwork.

ARC Review!!! 5/5 stars
The Dream Mirrors is another glimpse into the story of Hannah and her life on the island of Maple Hollow and how she’s embracing her powers! We get more aspects of her connecting with her family background/legacy. I loved to get more information on Spiritual Awakening, Astrology and more Metaphysical themes!
Thank you so much to Megan Mary, and Inner Realms Publishing for the opportunity to read and review an early copy of this story!

I love this book. It was a fun time, and I love the fantasy elements. The characters were so fun, and I got listening to this book specifically because the narrator was great. I can’t wait to read more for this author! Thank you so much for the opportunity to read this book early!

I absolutely adored the first book in this series—it felt like getting wrapped up in a cozy hug with just the right touch of magic and mystery. The subtle witchy, paranormal vibes were unexpected in the best way, and I didn’t realize how much I wanted a book like that until I read it. It was atmospheric and comforting while still leaving little breadcrumbs of intrigue and mysticism without over-explaining. It hit that perfect balance of whimsical and warm, and I was genuinely excited to dive into book two.
Unfortunately, the second book took a completely different turn—and not in a good way. I can still sense that the author is trying to keep the same themes, but instead of weaving them into the story naturally like before, this one feels like reading a spiritual textbook. There's a heavy emphasis on dream walking, mysticism, and metaphysical ideas, but it’s presented more like a lecture than a story. I’ve tried to push through it three separate times, hoping it would click, but I just can’t get into it. That cozy, magical spark from book one is totally missing for me in this sequel, and it’s been a real letdown.

I was super excited for this book because Megan did so good with the first one! It was truly the pumpkin spice that I needed. This one however it was very lacking. I lost interest halfway through, it just wasn’t hitting the spot for me. Her work is still truly amazing, I did listen all the way to the end, but this one just didn’t get me like the first one did. I’ll still continue the series that is without a doubt. I also want to mention that Pearl did amazing as well!

This author writes a very cute and cozy mystery. The world is unique, without a hefty book filled with detailed world building. The story she tells is right to the point with enough to make you connect with the characters, and I especially enjoyed the addition of the animal friends. If you are looking for a short, cozy read that doesn’t require any heavy brain work and you’d like to just sit back and enjoy then this is a great series to pick up.

I quite enjoyed this as an audiobook! The narrator did a fantastic job I would love to listen to more audiobooks by her.
This is the 2nd in a series and continued the mystery at Skye Manor. I liked that it quickly had me hooked with people going missing and some even falling into a mysterious coma. I also really liked the relationship between her and her aunt as well as how the author described the world and brought it to life. It did a good job having the character really examine herself, her soul, and her dreams which brings about self-reflection when reading. I would have liked for there to be a bit more of a sense of urgency throughout when the situation seemed quite dire.
This would be a great fall read filled with cemeteries, witches, and cats!
Thank you to the publisher, author, and NetGalley for the ARC. Opinions are my own.

The Dream Mirrors is a very creative book with wonderful descriptions. I listened to the audio. Loved the narrator, who brought the story to life even more. I slowed down with reading as it had a little too many filter words and stage directions for my personal taste. However, a very creative story filled with wonderful, imaginative details.

Book 2 in the series sees more mystery, more magical powers and a lot of portals. If you love witchy vibes reminiscent of Charmed and Sabrina, I can only recommend this series. It’s a fun read and it was a joy exploring the powers of our FMC Hannah. Thru mirrors, portals and dreams she needs to find her way to solve the mystery of her friend that goes missing.
An abundance of talking cats, is an added bonus 🐈⬛🐈😻
The narrator lends an enjoyable tone to the audiobook, which definitely helps set the mood.
Thank you to the author and NetGalley for the eARC

Mystical and meta-physics fictional fantasy story. I read book one, but listened to book two as an audiobook. I preferred book two more, maybe partly due to actually liking the audiobook format more. If you can read/listen to book one first, this book follows on from that with the same style, characters and cats. Megan Mary’s story telling involves letting us listen to the characters thoughts, and this was more enjoyable for me in narrated form. As for the story Hannah has settled into life on the Island. A dinner party is planned but soon things go awry. Thank you to Inner Realms Publishing and NetGalley for the audio ARC. The views expressed are all mine, freely given.

Skye Manor is hosting a dinner party when one of the guests goes missing. She is found in a coma and then another guest disappears. What is going on and can things be resolved? Hanna and her aunt Jewelia will use their animals spirit guides and the mirrors to unravel the mysteries. A dream diary will be important.
Well written and narrated fantasy novel (I listened to the audiobook). Good characters in this mystical novel. Lives plod on as research is undertaken to find out what is going on.

After finishing The Dream Haunters, the first book in the Witches of Maple Hollow series, I was eager to dive back into the story. Set years later, Hannah returns to Maple Hollow in search of her aunt Jewelia, who vanished during a storm. The arrival of the Dark One, the Illusionix, through the 9-9-9 portal disrupts everything, paralyzing a guest named Jezebelle and leading to the mysterious disappearance of their friend Morgan. With reversal magic failing, Hannah and Jewelia must solve the mirror portal mystery, defeat the Illusionix, revive Jezebelle, and find Morgan before it's too late.
Megan Mary's writing continues to shine with rich descriptions and well-developed characters that add depth to the story. A standout quote from Jewelia, “We must never doubt our ability to effect change, while also remembering that each soul has its own path to walk,” perfectly encapsulates the book's themes. For a captivating exploration of human nature and relationships through a fantastical lens, be sure to read this book after The Dream Haunters!
