I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started this book, but I was very pleasantly surprised. I ended up finishing the book in just a few sittings and really enjoyed the story and characters.

Royal Rebel by Holly Kerr is the fifth book in the Love in Laandia series and follows the courtship of Lyra Erickson and Spencer Laz. Lyra and Spencer have always had a connection, dating back to when they were little kids. When Spencer starts dating someone, Lyra signs up to be the next suitorette on a reality dating show where she dates 25 men in hopes of finding “the one”. Once the news of Lyra’s decision reaches Spencer, he has to decide if it’s finally time to make a bold move to win over Lyra’s heart.

I thoroughly enjoyed this sweet romance, it was a nice palette cleanser that pulled me from a reading slump. Everything about it was well written and thought out. I loved the different dates that Lyra and whoever she chose to take with her went on. They were so much fun to read about.

I will definitely be going back and reading the rest of this series. If you enjoy a story with the brothers’ best friend, slow burn, royal, reality tv, closed door tropes, then this is the book for you.

Thank you to NetGalley and Holly for the gifted copy.

This was a wonderful book to read. The characters were well written und it made sense. I have not read the other books in the series, but this made me want to read them. I also love a royal setting and the reality tv show setting was such a unique idea!
Definitely recommending this!

If a book and make me laugh it's gained brownie points in my world. This book was so much to read, The characters and plot. There were moments I found myself melting for the characters. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a fun read by the pool or beach this summer.

I enjoyed this book, even though I haven't read the others in the series, the story still made sense. Quick lighthearted read, perfect pallet cleanser book.

The best book in the series. Oh Lyra!, the best main character after Camille. She's the only princess of Lalaandia, the youngest, and the most rebellious, or at least that's what everyone thinks. The truth is, she has no qualms about saying and doing what she thinks, whether it's putting someone in their place to assert her opinion or deciding to enter a reality show to find the love of her life. Or at least a love that isn't in a relationship with someone else, like Spencer.

After years of being close, Spencer Laz, the princes' best friend and advisor to the crown, feels that something isn't right. Even though he's resumed his relationship with his ex-girlfriend Abigail after years of no contact and feels at peace with his routine, it's not until he finds out that Lyra is part of the reality show, "The Suitorette," that he begins to understand that Lyra affects him in a way that's more significant than just being a best friend, and if he doesn't act quickly, he could lose her forever.
.
Every moment, every dialogue was exquisite. It kept me on the edge of my seat and with a smile on my face until the very end. The only part I didn't like was the last chapter, the epilogue? Where Abigail appears. I haven't liked her since the previous book, just like Hattie, but I'm going to give her a chance in the next book to change my mind.
.
I really enjoyed this book. The entire series is great. I don't know if it's because it's a fictional kingdom with such strong Viking ancestry, the similarities with different monarchies, or the characters being so different from each other, but I would love to see them come to life.
.
Thanks to Holly Kerr and her team for give me a copy of this beautiful book in exchange for my honest and voluntary opinion.

As always, I was glad to find myself back in Laandia. In this book Lyra decides to go on a dating show, at the same time Spencer finally realizes that he has always had feelings for her. Can he get her to realize it before she finds love on the show? Does she even feel the same way? I am hoping for more from this wonderful cast of characters

I enjoyed reading this book. It was entertaining and fun. I loved the references to different character tropes found within romance novels. The book is set in a fictional town, but still has realistic places. The pacing and characters were good. The characters were realistic and dynamic. I would recommend this book. I look forward to seeking out the other four books in the series and potentially more to come.

Royal Rebel is a super sweet and fun romance. I loved the chemistry between Spencer and Lyra, they're total opposites, but work so well together. The reality dating show setting made everything more exciting and funny, and I couldn't stop reading. holly Kerr does a great job with this whole series but making the characters feel real. It's romantic and full of heart!

I enjoyed the heck out of this book. It was both hilarious and fun. It was the perfect royal romance.
The author really did a great Royal romance. The plot was good, the character development was good, and all of the side characters had bright shining spots in the book.
With its engaging characters and swoon-worthy moments, Royal Rebel is a sweet and entertaining read that will leave readers wanting more.

This is a charming, clean romance that blends the brother’s best friend and royalty tropes with a delightful twist of reality TV. In this installment, Holly Kerr lightens the emotional load compared to earlier books in the series, making for a more relaxed and feel-good read.

Spencer is adorably oblivious to his own feelings, which makes his slow realization all the more satisfying. Lyra, meanwhile, steps into the spotlight as the featured contestant on The Suitorette, meeting a parade of potential matches. Yet none can hold a candle to Spencer, even if neither of them can quite admit it. Their long-standing connection, forged through years of shared events and hidden emotions, keeps readers rooting for them.

The fictional country of Laandia and its royal family continue to shine as a rich and cozy backdrop for the series. This is a well-written and thoroughly enjoyable addition, perfect for fans of sweet, royal love stories.

This whole series has been so fun! Lyra and Spencer are the perfect "brother best friend" trope, and the unrequited love was so sweet! I love Princess Lyra as a character, surrounded by brothers and trying to find her way in the world. The setting of a Bachelorette type show was fantastic, especially for someone with as much personality as Lyra. And I absolutely loved the twist at the end!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read an early copy of Royal Rebel! This is the fifth book in the series, and while I haven’t read the first four, I appreciated that the story still made sense on its own. That said, I imagine it would hold more meaning if you were already invested in the characters from earlier books.

Overall, this was a lighthearted, no-spice royal romance that made for a quick and enjoyable read. I liked the royal setting of the fictional kingdom of Laandia - it added a fun, fairy-tale charm. The chemistry between the two leads was sweet, and it was clear from the beginning we were getting that HEA.

However, I did find myself wanting more in terms of character development. Their big revelations centered on realizing they were in love with each other, which felt obvious from the start. There wasn’t much of a character arc for either of them as individuals, so while I could root for their relationship, I didn’t feel as invested in them. That’s what ultimately brought my rating to 3.5 stars.

Still, if you’re looking for something light, romantic, and low-stakes with a royal twist, this one fits the bill!

The 'Love in Laandia' series is always a great way to spend an afternoon. This one also links to another series of Kerr's 'Suitor Science' which I intend to read next. You don't have to have read either series though, to understand Royal Rebel. It's light reading, not overly emotional and enjoyable.

I have to admit that it took me a while to warm up to Lyra. I think it's because I couldn't relate to her and I didn't like sentences she used, like her being on it like a fat kid with smarties. However, I did warm up to her and I too wanted Spencer to learn the lesson he needed to. By the end of the book, I saw her as a strong and resilient character. For this reason, I would definitely recommend the book and the previous ones in the series.

I receive complimentary books for various sources, including Netgalley, Authors, and other such sources. I am not required to write a positive review and have not received compensation.

come on Spencer get to it. dont just sit back and watch Lyra walk away. And Lyra dont do anything brash and in the heat of the moment woman!
haha seriously though this is a great round up of the royals weve all been following with smiles on our face throughout each book. the two we are focusing on here have been childhood friends. best friends of the brother kind of thing and we know how that goes(or doesnt,..or shouldnt) because hes a good family friend and best friends with all the brothers. so good friends is fine. until its not because really they love each other. but neither is saying it. and Spencer is definitely not. because suddenly he has doubts. at this point i gasped and thought my HEA for these two was going to be taken from me and this was a twit no romance should ever have! because then of course Lyra reacts to this.
but just read it. and love it. and if you havent read the others you must.
i dont want this series to end. how can we extend it Holly? can we have side character stories. i think that is the true sign of a good book and or series. you dont want it to end and do feel a little bookemotional when they come to their ends.
