Although I’m not the target demographic here I thought this book was very sweet and the illustrations were great and brought this story to life! The creativity and helpfulness of these 2 boys was so sweet. I think it would have been fun to hear more ideas and ways the boys tried and failed to get the alligator from the tub before transitioning to find the family. Also why’d his family leave poor Allistair behind? Overall a cute bedtime story and would get this for my mama friends

How to Get an Alligator Out of the Bathtub by Lynsey Martin is sure to be a crowd favorite! The illustrations are delighted and you will be excited to keep turning the pages. This is a terrific book to talk about friendship, sequence and problem solving.

Allistair the alligator was such a cute and funny character who loves fancy dinners and bubble baths. I love that the boys take care of him when he can’t find his family. The ending was funny and I love his whole alligator family the only thing I would’ve changed about the book is making the writing a little bit bigger!

5 stars for How to Get an Alligator Out of the Bathtub!
This is such a sweet book. The story is fun and quick, the illustrations are adorable, and the happy ending is heartwarming and fun. A great children's book!

I’ve luckily had the target audience of a 4 year old child to test this story out on! This was a lovely little children’s story about an alligator being found in the bathtub. It was, as most children’s story’s are, short and sweet. I found it enjoyable but at times hard for young er children to follow as the storyline seemed to jump from one story from another. The illustrations were superb though!

A sweet, simple story about two boys who find an alligator named Alistair in their bathtub -- and he wants to live in their house! At first the boys just want to find a way to deter him from his new living arrangement, but when they discover that he's missing the rest of his family, they're newly determined to help him find them.
A very cute story with very cute illustrations!

This book was SO cute! It had a unique plot and story, with beautiful illustrations that added so much to the book! I have no doubt that children will absolutely fall in love with How to Get an Alligator Out of the Bathtub!

How to Get an Alligator Out of the Bathtub has all the makings of a fun, imaginative read for kids—a surprise alligator named Alistair, a lively sibling duo (Peyton and Bennett), and a bath time adventure full of giggles and creative problem-solving.
The premise is adorable and definitely sparked some laughs, especially with the unexpected twist of a friendly gator making himself at home in the tub. The illustrations (if present) are likely to capture young readers' attention, and the playful tone fits the story’s whimsical nature.
That said, the storyline felt a bit choppy. The transitions between scenes weren’t always smooth, which made the pacing feel uneven and sometimes hard to follow. A bit more cohesion would’ve helped the story flow better and kept the energy consistent throughout.
Still, it’s a fun, silly concept that kids will enjoy—especially during bath time—and with a little more polish, it could have been a standout.

As usual thanks to the author and thanks to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
How to get an alligator out of the bathtub, a sweet little story about an alligator who invaded the bathtub of two little boys who need to take a bath, how are they going to take him out?? well read and find out! ( lol )
I'm always looking for childrens book to recommend to my nieces and this one would be perfect for the young one ( who is 6 or so) I believe she would find it pretty fun!

A very cute story for the kiddos. Read it to my niece & she loved the art and voices in Alistair’s speech. It’s a sweet concept and nice and short for a bedtime story.

This was such a good read! Overall, the book was well written and I did really enjoy it. Thank you for this advance reading copy!

Reading this picture book brought a smile to my face! Lynsey Martin's writing is beautiful and engaging! The text and pacing of the story fits the picture book format amazingly well! Colleen C. Coggins's bring so much life to the text! The expressions, the environments and the characters are drawn wonderfully using bright colors! I loved this book!

So cute! I can't place it, but this book felt like books I read as a kid. I loved that feeling. This book was funny and witty and warm-hearted.

This story is sweet and funny. The characters are wonderful. My main reason for rating it only a 3 despite the good story it is difficult to read because of the font choice, especially on pages that the font is smaller.

My boys and I loved this one!! The illustrations were so fun, and we had a great laugh about an alligator being found in the bathtub. Very cute and heartwarming story!

How to Get An Alligator Out of the Bathtub is an adorable illustrated Children’s book. The illustrations were so cute and the overall vibe of the book was cosy, exciting, and very ‘classic’ children’s book - it sort of reminded me of books I used to read with my parents as a kid.
The story line was sweet however it felt at times slightly flat and struggled to hold the little ones attention.
I loved the family love theme and the ending was perfect! I’m sure many will enjoy this book.

A cute easy story, with colourful illustration- my 5 year old was drawn to the cover and the title!
What little boy wouldn’t want to read about an alligator in their bath!
It was a quick read, some of the language like “duck a l’orange” a little old for the target audience but made my son smile.

First of all I love the book cover and illustrations throughout. Well thought out and beautiful. I love the storyline and the development from finding him in the bathtub to helping him get home. The issue I have is that the way it's written doesn't quite fit. For what I assume is the age range for this book it's quite wordy when it doesn't need to be and there's a few instances where words are used that the children wouldn't even understand like caviar. I understand it represents the character but you could use simpler examples for them to understand such as cakes, crumpets, etc. I feel like the author is trying a little to hard and it's very nearly there it just needs shortening and rewording in some places for the younger target audience.

This was ok, but the writing really didn’t keep my or my daughters attention and didn’t flow well 🥲 very awkward structure overall. Cute concept though.

How to Get an Alligator Out of the Bathtub is a cute, silly book that I think kids will love. The illustrations were well done and the storyline was unique, but some parts did feel a little slow/forced. Overall a cute read.
