This book really didn’t do it for me. Lots of back-and-forth between characters… Who done it predictable outcome. With all the exciting thrillers out there I just had a really hard time finishing this one. I slogged through it and was very underwhelmed. I didn’t care for any of the characters and maybe that was the problem with this book for me. I gave it two stars because it was so hard for me to pick it up and read it. Thank you NetGalley for the digital copy.

This was one of those typical popcorn thrillers but I absolutely eat those up, I had a great time reading this one.

Alex Sinclair's THE EX is a chilling psychological thriller that delves into the dark depths of obsession and revenge. The unnamed narrator is consumed by a singular, dangerous desire: "I want him back. And I want her gone." This fierce declaration sets the stage for a story of calculated infiltration and simmering malice.
Bianca and Jack appear to have a fairytale life—college sweethearts, a beautiful home on a quiet cul-de-sac, two young children, and a seemingly perfect marriage. But to the narrator, "It's all a lie." That life, she believes, should have been hers. Once upon a time, she and Jack were the "golden couple," and that perfect future was meant for them.
Driven by this conviction, the narrator systematically inserts herself into their world. She moves into the same neighborhood, meticulously befriends everyone on the cul-de-sac, ensuring they trust her. She becomes "the perfect neighbor," all while harboring a sinister agenda: "I'll do whatever it takes to get him back." THE EX is a tense and unsettling read that explores the terrifying lengths to which one person will go to reclaim what they believe is rightfully theirs, leaving readers on edge as the narrator's meticulously crafted plan unfolds.

I wanted to be gripped but unfortunately this book took forever to get where it was going to.
Long periods of unnecessary writing left this hard to hold on to and the ending isn’t satisfying enough to justify it.
I think this has huge potential and with an edit it could be a wonderful book.

You and your husband have a past; what long married couple doesn't? You've beat the odds and have managed to move past it all. Until it moves in next door, disrupting your life and exposing old wounds.
That premise had me hooked. I was so enticed by the secret part these three characters shared. However, there was a lit of waffling in which nothing much happened, and the same things were rehashed and rehashed again. That was frustrating, and I found myself skimming through several chapters to get to the meat of the story. With the fat trimmed, though, this is a thrilling tale with mystery and twists.

A gripping thriller from the beginning. I did find it difficult to follow at times with all the different names. I had to reread a few times to understand who was who. A good twist at the end. Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for allowing me to read this book.

Whaaat? What was that? A wild ride of a story, with so many twists and turns that will leave you confused as you read – who do you trust? What exactly is going on there?
The book’s premise already is the perfect recipe for a disaster – a husband’s ex moves in next door… but no, wait, there is more! The said ex is also someone from your own past, hold on, hold on, what exactly is going on there… yeah. Crazy. I know. And good. Crazy good.

I did not see the ending coming and most books I can predict, It was pretty twisted. This one was kinda a mind twist with all the twist and turns. I love books when you are not entirely sure who to trust and what is entirely true and what is not so this was a great read!

If you enjoy books with interesting characters and unexpected twists that keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end, this book is for you! Alex Sinclair does a masterful job of drawing the reader into the story and keeping their interest. The story is fast paced and filled with surprises.
Thank you to NetGalley for providing this book.

The concept of this was really good. What happens if the ex moves in next door with all of the previous baggage you were privy to? All characters were realistic. They weren’t completely likable there was one element to each of them that made you scratch your head a bit so it kept you on your toes

Woowie this was a good one! I genuinely couldn’t believe the ending I didn’t see that coming. It was so dark and twisted in all the best ways!

I just finished reading The Ex by Alex Sinclair and I have to say it was a really good read. It is one of those thrillers that keeps you on edge the whole time. What made it so gripping was how the author played with my mind throughout the story.
Right from the start I thought I had figured out who “The Ex” was but the way Alex wrote the story made me question myself over and over. Just when I felt confident about my guess a twist would come along and make me doubt everything. That constant second-guessing kept me hooked and made it hard to put the book down.
There are so many twists and turns throughout the plot and the dark atmosphere adds to the tension. I felt frustrated at times because I thought I knew what was going on but that just made the ending even more satisfying.

🌟🌟🌟🌟
This is my first read by this author but I was so taken with the front cover image, I was definitely excited to jump in and see what this had to offer.
I read a lot of this genre and I feel like I can spot a good psychological thriller cover now and although some of the premises are pretty similar, these work so well that I just can't get enough.
In this story we meet Bianca and Jack who seem to have the perfect life together.
When their neighbours move out, Bianca gets a shock when she realises that the new owner is actually Jack's Ex!
I loved the dual pov chapters which tell the story through Bianca's eyes and an anonymous narrator. I thought it was pretty obvious that the other pov was going to be Nicole, the ex, but as the story develops we see a fair few twists and turns which throw things in their head and kept me guessing right to the big reveal at the end - which I definitely didn't see coming!
The writing style was fast paced and I was so sucked into the storyline that I read almost half the book in one sitting!
I just couldn't put it down!
This is an author that I'll be looking out for in the future and I can't wait to read more.

Superb psychological thriller The Ex by Alex Sinclair especially as it draws in in from the very beginning.
Now. . . . . Could you imagine - You are loving, living in your perfect house with your husband and your two small children and living a perfect life especially as you have great friendly neighbours. . . . What more could you ever ask for. Even your street you live in, is beautiful and so friendly, with neighbours inviting you round for BBQ parties etc.
Then, they tell you they are moving!!!! Someone wanted their house and paid over the odds for it, to get it.
I can see Why they could not turn this offer down!!!
Now, Would you?
WoW. . . . . . . . Nooooooooo!
Then your new neighbour. . . . . is your husband's Ex partner! and she's tried to kill him 18 years ago when he was in college.
WoW. . .. . .Why? and where has she been all these years? and why Now!!!!
This book is so good I was glued to my chair and kindle and I could not put it down! I need to close my mouth!
WoW the ended was jaw dropping!!!! Excellent Book. One of his best!
Many thanks to Joffe Books for the ARC.

I’d give this a solid 4 stars. The story had me hooked from early on, with just enough mystery to keep me turning pages. I liked how the main character’s doubts and emotions felt believable it made it easy to get pulled into her world. The pacing was tight, and the tension kept building in a way that didn’t feel forced. Some of the twists were a little predicable, but I was too invested to mind much. As a reader who loves domestic thrillers, and hard to put down

I very much enjoyed the book and finished it in a few hours. Not very long, quick paced, enjoyed the 18 years ago POV, it just also felt rushed. It needed more 'oomph' that I just didn't feel thoroughly satisfied by the end of the book. It was a solid 3.5 stars/5. I would recommend others read the book, and I do think others would enjoy it even if it was not my cup of tea. I enjoy longer, slow burn whodunnit 's.

Bianca and Jack's apparently perfect life with their two beautiful children is under threat from an obsessive ex-lover who is determined to get Jack back. By any means necessary...
And for a start, that means stalking them in their neighbourhood, and preparing the ground for her planned "takeover"!
This story is well-paced, though the ending felt slightly rushed. Twisty and entertaining, it gets 3.5 stars.

This story had me hooked with the twists and turns. I never knew who to fully trust. I just didnt enjoy the ending. It felt a little rushed.

This book was written so well! I kept telling myself, "Just one more chapter", but then the next chapter pulled me in for "just one more!". I was constantly trying to figure out the story, but there was twist after twist, and the ending was mind blowing!
What a fantastic read!

This book literally hooked me from the start! The authors pacing of this book was impeccable. The twists and turns in this book were insane. This was definitely a solid book and I would definitely recommend reading it!
