I have loved every single story of this series and it's sad that it's come to an end but what a way to go! Absolutely thrilling with many twists and turns, a quick paced page turner with every emotion possible, so goodbye to The Hawk, his team and associates and thank you

What an ending to a brilliant series! Totally apt and fitting.

The pacing was superb, the action never letting up for even one moment. I was tense and found myself reading quickly trying to get the the end of each incident, only to find there was another already on its way.

Rejoining familiar characters is always a pleasure, like meeting up with old friends. Even though the years have passed, the reader soon drops back into the hum of their lives. Artemisia, Peter and Jojo now all grown up and displaying characteristics that match their younger selves well.
The team have aged well and progressed in their careers, the loyalty to William Warwick still at the forefront, enabling them to work together seamlessly. I love their interactions, banter, teasing and yet 100% support. The only niggle I had with this story, involved an incident involving one of the long standing officers, which I felt needed a bit more than was given, although the time pressures of the situation would have influenced this too.

Knowing that most of the incidents were actually real, makes the book even more edgy. Archer has a way of blending fiction and reality convincingly. How the series reached its climax for the main characters was appropriate and fulfilling, with even a gentle nod back to the start of the series included. A great read.

Commander William Warwick is back for the final time and this is an exceptional read from this author.

There is a mix of fact and fiction based on the London 2012 Olympic games. Archer challenges the reader to try and work out which of the 22 incidents covered are real and which are fiction. He states that 13 are real and I did recall one of them.

Twists and turns throughout with the arch enemy, Miles Faulkner, working with the Russians and Chinese to try and stop the Olympics.

Highly recommended

Commander William Warwick, Is back. This book is based around the 2012 London Olympic games. All the main characters are back and Jeffrey Archer has done a good job of finishing off the story.. Annette or some real plots that were foiled by the police and also some that are with creative license. it’s up to the Read to decide which really happened..
It’s sad that this will be the last outing for William and his rival Miles Faulkner but I’m sure the author will delight us with a new series and new characters

This is the last in the William Warwick series and what a fabulous read.
Based on the London 2012 Olympics and of course all the usual characters this is a totally captivating read.
Definitely a read in one sitting book, I was absolutely hooked and didn’t want the book to end as I knew there’d be no more in this series.

Thanks to @netgalley @jeffrey_archer_author & @harpercollinsuk for the ARC.

It's been a long time since I read a Jeffrey Archer book & this one hasn't disappointed!
This is the last book in the William Warwick series and it has been a thrilling cat & mouse read with the tension built up even more with events that happen in the story! It is set against the backdrop of the London 2012 Olympics, which in itself evokes some wonderful memories.
I devoured this book once I started reading it and even though it is the last instalment, it can be read as a standalone.

This is an outstanding book to finish what has been a magnificent series featuring the rise in the ranks of William Warwick, which sees him in charge of security operations during the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Interestingly there is a great mix of fact and fiction in the book, many well known athletes and politicians play a part in the story and the author challenges the reader to spot the facts among a list of events that actually took place during the Games.

As characters the roles of Warwick and his nemesis Miles Faulkner have gained momentum during the series with a number of crimes committed by Faulkner against Warwick and his family and friends, in addition to many others. However he is a charismatic character and a great foil for the decent and honest policeman.

It is very sad to see the end of the series, I and many other readers will miss the opportunity to read more about the characters, however the author has definitely gone out in a high note and this is an excellent goodbye. Pacy, edge of the seat drama and a thrilling ending which was unexpected. It must be time to start again at book 1 and enjoy the story from the beginning with the knowledge of what is to follow.

Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

London, 2012, host country for the Olympic Games, and as the world looks forward to this magnificent four yearly event, the team responsible for safety are aware that it is also a target for criminals, and those who wish harm to everyone involved, including the general public.

In particular, an international conspiracy to unleash an attack of unimaginable terror is set in motion, and once again Commander William Warwick and Sergeant Ross Hogan of the Scotland Yard elite team are tasked with preventing this and many other incidents from occurring, some involving home grown crooked politicians, those who abuse their power and authority for personal or private gain, rather than serving the public good.

This is the final book in the William Warwick series, and with master storyteller Jeffrey Archer at the helm, we were assured a thrilling cat and mouse game, set against a ticking clock, counting down the minutes to various incidents that involve some extremely dangerous individuals. Can Commander Warwick and his team stop this Olympic Games from being one of the biggest man made catastrophes ever seen? My lips are sealed!

End Game, the eighth book in Jeffrey Archer’s brilliant William Warwick series, is without a doubt the best of a fantastic run. Love him or hate him (and I definitely do the latter!), there’s no denying Archer’s mastery—he is simply the best at his craft. You just have to pick up his books, pay the money, and enjoy the ride.

In this installment, Commander William Warwick and Ross Hogan step up once again, preventing a devastating attack on London. The plot brims with tension, weaving together a very realistic depiction of geopolitical friction between Russia, China, and the UK. It felt so real that I found myself racing through the pages, desperate to see if they could avert disaster.

What makes this book even more fun is the twist at the end—Archer challenges readers to guess which 13 incidents are real and which 9 are figments of his imagination. It’s clever, thought-provoking, and adds an extra layer of engagement. For me, my stone-cold picks for the true ones are: 1, 2, 8, 9, 12, 15, 17, and 19. My possibles: 10, 11, 14, 21, and 22.

End Game is a fast-paced, authentic, and thrilling conclusion to this arc of the series. Archer at his very best—don’t miss it!

This is the 8th and last book in the enjoyable William Warwick series, a thriller that blends political intrigue, international conspiracy, and non stop suspense.

Set in London 2012, when the city is getting ready to host the Olympic Games, a chance to impress the rest of the world as well a risk of becoming the target of one of the most dangerous conspiracies in modern history. Commander William Warwick, head of Scotland Yard’s elite team is tasked with preventing catastrophe. Warwick is pulled into a deadly pursuit that spans London’s streets, its power brokers, and the hidden world of international conspirators.

As expected Jeffrey Archer writes a novel that captures the scale of the Olympic spectacle while zoning in on the battle with an assassin. Well paced and great characters make this a very enjoyable read and can be read as a standalone. Tension builds throughout the novel with a constant threat of impending danger.

I would like to thank both Netgalley and Harper Collins UK for supplying a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

With Jeffrey Archer, there is little need to leave reviews as you know that you are always going to get an enjoyable read from the master storyteller. Having read the series from book one, the characters were familiar, so it was simply a case of turning the pages and enjoying the story.. Hopefully there are further instalments to follow.

Brilliant read for this last book in the William Warwick series. It features the Events around the London Olympics of 2012. A very interesting insight into the logistics of organising such an event from a policing point of view. It was lovely to read about the younger members of the Warwick clan too.

This is the 8th, and final, instalment in the William Warwick series, and what a finale it is!

The team finds themselves with possibly their hardest challenge to date: security for the 2012 Olympic Games, where the whole world will bear witness to any mistakes.

A fantastic and fast-paced read, with local gangsters, international conspiracies, and the usual underhand tactics of Miles Faulkner—all providing more fireworks than just those planned for the closing ceremony!

This was a brilliant last hurrah for the team, and I feel saddened to be waving them goodbye. Archer never fails to weave an absolute masterpiece, and this was a gold medallist indeed!

The End Game Jeffrey Archer

5 stars

I have loved the William Warwick series and have been looking forward to this last book in the series for a year and I was not disappointed.

In this book, William and his close team, whom we have got to know and love over the years ,are put in charge of the security at the 2012 London Olympics. Both the Russians and the Chinese are desperate to sabotage the games in some way and, as the author tells us 13 of the 22 incidents in this book actually happened! It is left up to the reader to decide which were truth and which were fiction.

It would not be a William Warwick book without the interference of his arch-enemy, Miles Faulkner, who again plays a prime character in this story. I love the way Jeffrey Archer is able to merge fact and fiction and it was wonderful to re-live the London Olympics which was such a wonderful memory for most of us.

I felt that the author completed this series in a very satisfactory way and this book was, as usual, full of twists and turns that made you keep turning the pages. Although it is sad that there will be no more of William Warwick and his family and friends hopefully Mr Archer will continue writing brilliant stories in the future.

I received a free, advance copy of this book and this is my unbiased and voluntary review.

An international conspiracy will reunite Warwick and Hogan in this thriller. Lives will be at risk as they will uncover secrets that will change the world. It’s a nail biter that you will not quickly forget as Archer once again delights his fans.

Another great read from master storyteller Jefffrey Archer. This final book in the William Warwick series is set in London 2012 and Warwick is tasked with ensuring the Olympics run smoothly. He is up against Russia, China and the criminal Miles Faulkner who are bent on causing disruption.
I loved the London setting and mingling of fact and fiction. 13 of the 22 incidents in the book actually happened. It has also been a treat to follow the development of the characters over the series. In this book Warwick's daughter, Artemisia, is drawn into the plot in her role as a journalist.
This is a thrilling read and a fitting end to a brilliant series. So, End Game for this series but not, I hope, for Jeffrey Archer. I wonder what he will write next?

What a cracking way to wrap up the William Warwick series. Set around the buzz of the 2012 Olympics, this one’s packed with tension, twists and just enough cheeky surprises to keep you guessing. Archer knows how to spin a proper yarn, and watching Warwick try to stay ahead of Faulkner (who’s as slippery as ever) was pure entertainment. Loved the blend of real events with fiction – had me Googling more than once! Sad to see the series end, but it went out on a high. If you’ve been following Warwick’s journey, this final chapter won’t let you down.

Absolutely fantastic! A brilliant conclusion to a great series. This one grabs you from page one and doesn't let go till you turn the last page. William and his team have their work well and truly cut out for them, being in charge of the security for the 2012 London Olympics from the time London wins the bid, to 7 years later after the closing ceremony. Needless to say, it's one thing after the next, non-stop. Miles is up to his usual antics with William constantly trying to stay one step ahead. I'm sad that this series is done. It's been quite a ride!

I came to the William Warwick series a little late, discovering it after three books had already been released. Since then, I’ve eagerly awaited each new installment, and now with End Game - the final book in the series – I can say it does not disappoint. My only regret is that there isn’t another one to look forward to!

Jeffrey Archer proves once again why he’s such a master storyteller. His prose is elegant yet accessible, making the book effortless to read while still richly engaging. He moves seamlessly from one plot point to the next, keeping the pace brisk without ever leaving the reader behind.

The book is set around the 2012 London Olympics, with Warwick and his team tasked with overseeing security at the Games – an instantly familiar backdrop for most of us. Archer cleverly blurs the line between fact and fiction, weaving real events into the narrative. The fun lies in trying to guess which incidents truly happened and which sprang from his imagination. Many of them are so outlandish you’d expect to see them in a Bond film, and Archer lists them all for you to review and decide which are real and which are works of fiction.

If anything, I only wish the book had been longer so we could spend more time with the wider cast. However, Archer delivers fitting endings for all the key characters, especially Booth Watson and Miles Faulkner, who finally get their long-overdue just desserts.

Overall, End Game is a brilliant conclusion to a series I’ve thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish. It’s a farewell to William Warwick, but one delivered with style and satisfaction.

With thanks to NetGalley and HarperCollins for an advanced copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

And that's a wrap!

This book marks the conclusion of William Warwick's story, along with his adversary Miles Faulkner, his associate Booth Watson, and their long-standing conflict.

It was yet another very entertaining read, set against the backdrop of the 2012 Olympic Games held in the UK. An intriguing detail, as mentioned by Jeffrey Archer, is that the book incorporates 22 incidents, with 13 of them being based on actual events, leaving the reader to discern the true from the fictional.

Will we have the pleasure of a new series featuring characters from this series? Only time will tell.

Thank you to NetGalley and Harper Collins UK for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
