Since her father was killed when their house burned down, and her mum has been missing, River Santos has been a shell of her former self. On the night it happened her boyfriend dumped her, and she was lucky to survive the fire. With the help of her aunt and best friend she is getting by, but she’s not the person she used to be.
We follow River as she ends up becoming friends with Logan, her co-worker who keeps himself to himself. What she doesn’t know is that Logan has his own reasons for wanting to be near River.
As their relationship shifts into a more romantic one we can see that she’s falling hard. But we know he’s hiding something. Quite what we don’t find out until later, and it most definitely was not what I expected.
Fast-paced, all very dramatic and overly emotional. Satisfying at the time, but not necessarily memorable. Thanks to the author and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read and review it.
