What a good book. Kyle and Savanna were so sweet together. The secondary characters were great, and the descriptions of the area and places were well done. The angst was awful, but worth the anxiousness in the end. I couldn’t help seeing Kyle’s physical details reminding me of Xena. I laughed and cried while reading. I look forward to reading more from this author. Oh, I forgot to mention that the lovemaking was hot!

If you are already a fan of Melissa Brayden previous work you will likely really enjoy this, however this is my first foray into her work and dream a little dream was okay but for me nothing amazing to read.
We have a chance encounter between our two MCs in a hotel landing where Savanna is literally stuck on her internal room door and Kyle happens to be there to support her getting unstuck. We follow a whirlwind 24 hours “fling” where they both make a pact to return in one year’s time to start a promising possible relationship. Cut to the chase Savanna gets stood up then returns to her small town where she rents out and Airbnb that Kyle checks into to win her back.
There is other underlying stores set within this which I felt was just too many side plots that do link but I think it’s more filler than anything but the main thing is around second chances, there is a minor element of ‘betrayal’ but I would eye roll at this! They are both flawed characters and disappointingly there is no sexual tension between them. The story felt forced and at times just a bit pointless and I hate to say it but dull.
If you like small town charm with a second chance sapphic nature then this is likely one for you. I think if you a fan this may link to some of the authors previous work so that could be enjoyable as well but this was a miss for me. Thank you for NetGalley and Bold Stokes Books for the opportunity to read this prior to release which is available from the 13th May.

I will start by saying that Melissa Brayden is one of my favourite authors. I’ve loved her books from the moment I read Entangled and rush to read her books as soon as I can.
With that out of the way I have to say that this one just didn’t hit for me. I’m surprised with how unconnected I felt to the story.
The characters were there. The setting was great especially since Beautiful Dreamer is one of my favourite books by her so it was nice to see little glimpses of the characters I loved from that book. I just didn’t love Savanna and Kyle. Their love story just felt flat to me and the obstacles in their way felt forced.
For the first time this is a book by Melissa Brayden that I’ll probably not return to reread.
It’s closer to a 3.5 but I’ll round up I’ve had amazing times reading her other books.
Thanks to NetGallery and the Publisher for this Arc in exchange for my honest review.

If you like a small-town romance this can be the book for you. I had an issue to really get into the love story between Savanna and Kyle that started as insta love, then one year apart without any contact (why???), instead decide to meet at a bridge, Kyle not showing up there, but instead show up in Savanna’s hometown a few months later. Then so much back and forth and interactions with everyone in this small town until they get their HEA and, in my mind, way too little romance and getting to know the MC's.
