This is the first book that I've read from this author and WOW! What an introduction! No time was wasted before getting stuck into the steamy session between the 2 main characters. I loved the age gap between them. Him being slightly older just made his grumpy old man attitude even more lovable, and their banter around his age was just adorable!

There's just something about a forbidden romance that I love, and sleeping with your boss without realising it sounds like absolute hell but she handles it like a pro and you can't help but root for her success the whole way through!

The FMC in this book is super smart, strong minded and although she clearly loves him having the upper hand in the bedroom, she doesnt let him get away with pulling crap around her and has no problem putting him in his place! (that a girl!)

My favourite quote was “Your life is not defined by someone else’s expectations.”

Breaking His Law is a billionaire work place romantic story of revenge and spice.

Arianna is an emotionally complex character with some trauma in her past. She is strong willed and determined, yet somehow can’t say no to Nathan. Nathan is an emotionally unavailable and broody character, that lets his guard slip as the book progresses.

There are a few twists and surprises along the way and the dual POV helps to understand how the characters feel and deal with these. It is a brilliant story and I can’t wait to read the other books in this series.

I really wanted to love this book. I loved the story genuinely loved it. But some of the writing made me want to throw my kindle off the wall. There were details that did not need to be in the book as it did not add to the story.
I could genuinely tell the characters had chemistry and I loved the idea of the plot that she was trying to find the truth about her families death, but I felt the execution was lacking.

This book pulled at my heartstrings something fierce. Nathan is a hot shot lawyer who is determined to be just like his dad and carry on the legacy. He has been doing an amazing job at it but when he sees Arianna for the first time his world is forever changed. Arianna had so many plans and they all fall apart the more she gets to know Nathan. Will things work out for both of them or will an insane individual ruin everything? This book was so good I couldn’t put it down! I was given an ARC through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Had me Turning Pages so Fast!!

Arianna loses her parents and sister in a terrible car crash. She has the scars to show for it, in multiple ways. Fast forward fifteen years, and she works for the law firm that got the man who killed her family off. The father no longer is at the firm, but the four brother do, including Mr. Crankypants/Bosszilla Nathan.

These two spark off each other. She wants to hate him, but he seems to be ethical and her plans are not coming to fruition as she expected. He is a workaholic, until she gets him into goat yoga, laugh therapy and walks on the beach. He begins to believe there is more to life than just work. But if he finds out why she is really there, he will hate her.

I found myself really liking these characters, and really like them as a couple. They definitely challenge each other. I also found myself waiting for “the other shoe” to drop. Oh, the tension. Such a great read!

Breaking His Law by VH Nicolson had me hooked from the very first chapter with its perfect mix of forbidden tension, slow-burn romance, and emotional depth[1]. The story follows Arianna Donovan, who is out for revenge against the law firm that let her family down, and Nathan Hart, a billionaire boss whose initial arrogance gradually gives way to a more complex and redeeming character.

The chemistry between Arianna and Nathan is electric, filled with steamy, intense moments that kept me turning pages. I appreciated the emotional layers woven into the romance, especially Arianna’s drive fueled by past tragedy and the slow unraveling of Nathan’s true self. The story balances angst and passion well, delivering both heartache and hope.

While Nathan starts off as a conceited jerk, his character growth felt believable and satisfying, and the tension between the leads was palpable throughout. The romance is definitely spicy, with plenty of heat and emotional stakes that made the story addictive.

Overall, I’m giving Breaking His Law four stars. It’s a compelling forbidden billionaire romance with strong characters, emotional resonance, and plenty of steam that fans of the genre will enjoy.

This is my first book for this author and I believe this book is the first in a series.

The story follows Arianna, who enters Hart Law with one goal in mind: revenge. She wants justice for what happened to her family, and she’s determined to get it by digging through the firm’s secrets. But things take a turn when she crosses paths with Nathan Hart—the son of the man she believes has wronged her family. He’s a broody, powerful, completely off-limits billionaire… and absolutely magnetic. Their connection is instant and intense, and watching it evolve was such a rollercoaster. You could really feel the tension and chemistry between them.

I loved Arianna, she isn’t just strong—she’s smart, resourceful, snarky and emotionally complex. And Nathan… well, he comes across as a player but actually is a much deeper character. Throughout the book he slowly lets his guard down. It makes you really relate to him and start to really root for him.

The plot has some twists, which I loved. I found the writing sharp, and the emotional payoff was really satisfying.
The book is steamy and it starts with a bang (literally) but the story is also full of romance. So if you like a steamy romance with a strong female lead, you’ll love this book.

As I said, this is my first book by this author but I’ll definitely be reading some more of their books.

While I really enjoyed this book, it just didn't have me completely gripped and not wanting to put it down. This is potentially because I had just had a few days off work where I read 5 books in 5 days and my brain was fatigued, so I shan't hold that against this book because everything I read in it, I liked!
The story kicks off hot and spicy from the off, and then the emotion grows as we read through the tale. I thought Arianna's story was heartbreakingly sad, but also powerful how she had built herself up as an adult. Nathaniel comes across at first as a playboy, grumpy git, but as his own story unfolds we meet someone so desperate to protect his families legacy he's working himself into an early grave. Together they learn a lot about themselves as well as each other.
There is plenty of heat throughout so those who like their stories spicy will be pleased! I am firmly in that camp!
There are some really difficult things brought up throughout such as family death, foster care, illness, abuse of trust and revenge. They don't overshadow the story and all bring something along to the characters arc development.
I haven't read anything by this author before but I would absolutely read more from them as I really liked the colourful characters, sassy dialogue and tropes involved.

It was a brilliant first book in a new series. I read this in one sitting. I couldn't put it down. I was hooked from page one. I loved the chemistry between Ari and Nathan. I loved the cover and blurb of this book. I loved that he was older than Ari. I loved the way they were with each other. Very steamy. This is a new author for me. Wow. I can't wait to see what comes next. I definitely recommend this book.

Warning book has lots of spice so if that’s not your thing.

It also has a good story to it. It’s similar at the start to a few I’ve read before but where this story shines is in feelings and emotion. I found it was able to see and connect with the characters and how they were thinking and what they were going through. The last few chapters I flew through and loved how the whole thing ended.

Absolutely incredible book. I loved the character development. This was an incredible story. Nathan Hart was an absolutely incredibly written character. I really loved his character. Arianna was very well written I loved her as well. I really loved these characters together. Once Arianna stopped worrying about revenge it was an absolutely wonderful love story.

I'm living in my billionaire era at the moment and I spotted this front cover and instantly knew I had to grab this book!

This also had the benefit of being the first book in this new series - The Billionaire Hart Brothers - and the fact that there are already 4 books in the planning!
I couldn't wait to dive in!

This book has all the elements you'd expect from this genre and the formula is worked to perfection here.

Nathan Hart is the head of the Hart law firm and exudes control, confidence and a special kind of charm.
Arianna thinks she can take the firm down and uncover their deceit - but after succumbing to Nathan's charms, she's trapped in his aura and neither of them can deny the chemistry they have together.

Having the dual pov chapters was perfect for this story as it really allowed us to hear the thoughts and emotions going on throughout - this helped me connect with both of the characters whilst seeing the events unfold.

This gets spicy quick and I was totally there for it all!
I was hooked from the start and just couldn't help flying through the pages.

I liked that we also got an insight into the Hart empire which will come in handy for the future books in the series, I'm sure.
I'm already obsessed though and can't wait to see how this series progresses.

This is Vicki’s first new novel with her publisher and I have to say I was wondering if we would lose any of Vicki’s “special” when the book came out… we didn’t.
Everything that makes Vicki’s words and stories unique and almost her signature are all still there. Which is why Breaking His Law was fantastic. The genuineness of her characters, their vulnerabilities, the integrity, and chemistry are my favorite things when she writes.
The Hart brothers are gonna be favorite’s of mine, I can already see it.
Nathan and Arianna had so much chemistry and depth to their characters.
Nathan led with so much honesty, but any kind of betrayal is hard to earn trust back.
Arianna didn’t have all the facts and was doomed because of that.
Thankfully the cast of characters around them both were able to push them in the direction to forgive and make amends.
If you’ve read and loved Vicki’s other books then you will love this one too!
Vicki is always a buy and read author, no questions asked.

As I share with you this, my honest review.

This is my first book by VH Nicholson and oh my goodness, I adored this so much. I felt so attached to not only Ari and Nathan but the whole Hart family, that’s when I know I’m invested. The writing was really stunning and this author has such a way with words I was eating it up. The spice was spicing from chapter 3, the FMC was a strong female who knew what she wanted (my favourite), workplace romance, age gap, grumpy billionaire MMC, praise, revenge plot, what more could you want? The inner dialogue and dual POV of the main characters also had me giggling and made me connect to their personalities so much. The relationships in this book had me hooked and I already cannot wait to read more of the series when they are released!
