The further adventures of John Milton . Tracking his stolen hear buds he ends up in a cryptocurrency scam, and helps the victims. Though not as action packed as previous book this is still a good addition to the series. Well plotted and good chracters. I thoroughly enjoyed the narration throughout this book. I'm looking forward to the next installment. Thanks to Quest from W. F. Howes and Netgalley for this review audiobook

2.5 🌟

Admittedly, this wouldn’t be my usual genre of choice, however I recently read the first in the series and I did enjoy it.

This story varied vastly from the first title and it was glaringly obvious that I’d missed a lot of story in the in between titles that I’ve yet to get around to. Perhaps this would’ve helped me to rate higher, perhaps this just wasn’t for me. I can accept it may be a me thing. I just didn’t really enjoy it, and felt like I was waiting to get to the excitement for the entirety of the book.

I enjoyed the narration and it’s probably what prevented me from DNF. Don’t let my opinion put you off though.

Happy publication day, today I believe 🎉🥳🎧

My gratitude goes to Quest from W F Howes LTD via NetGalley for the opportunity to review this ALC 🎧

I’ve read a few books in the Milton series and enjoyed them all. This one, Vultures, not so much. Milton is definitely showing his age. He’s not as fast as he was and he’s no longer the action hero of earlier stories. As if by chance, because he has nothing better to do, he follows his stolen AirPods. He starts in Venice, where the signal shows them in possession of an individual who attends a presentation about a cryptocurrency.. He’s thrown out for decrying the scheme as a scam and so the adventure begins. Except it’s not much of an adventure. It’s the story of a pan international financial scam where a pyramid scheme persuades investors to buy into a non existent cryptocurrency. The main players are elusive, moving offices and money around the world and defying legal action to bring them to justice. I’ve listened to the audio version, which is well narrated although I found some of the Italian accents and delivery rather irritating. Milton inveigles his way into a group who are trying to bring the company down, but there’s relatively little action and a lot of repetition about how cryptocurrency works and the risks of investing. Milton suddenly seems rather dull compared to other stories and I feel he’s lost his edge and interest. Informative about the perils of cryptocurrency but not packed with the high octane action I was anticipating, so overall this is disappointing.
