this is a true depiction of one woman as she really does get away from it all. i mean you cant get alot further than Mexico. and yes what goes on isnt always sensible. and is alot more party style than i am down for. but it was fun to watch this gaggle of young people let go and have fun. i wasnt sure at times at some of the male behavior. but i had to try and put that aside as i wasnt sure whether i was feeling overly critical due to the level of news out there at the moment to do with this kind of thing. and i dont want to give it any bad feeling due to A this being one part of these folks lives and 2 i never felt the "vibes" were wrong from it.
i liked this book and it made me feel like i was reading of a possible younger self of mine. or should i say what couldve been a younger self of mine.
but the holiday sure is full of fun, romance and a bit of messy chaos too. i think this was a light banter style book and could really cater to a younger type than me. but im glad i read it as it def had that shimmer of light and holiday vibes to it that can really be perfect for this time of year.

I appreciate NetGalley for sending me this ARC.

As an aspiring author myself, I really wanted to love this book. I hate to give it such a poor rating, but I was asked to provide an honest review.

The cute cover initially caught my eye, but unfortunately, that was about the only positive aspect of this book. I understand it was written for a younger audience, but I believe the author has underestimated teenagers' intelligence. Nothing significant happens in the story. All the characters come across as immature and superficial, and there is no character development or anyone to root for. The men in the story show little respect for the women, and honestly, the women seem to lack self-respect as well. Throughout the book, there are constant references to them being too drunk to remember what happened the night before.

I think this book needs more work. It felt like I was reading a first draft. The dialogue was repetitive, often reiterating points that the reader already knew.

I genuinely wanted to enjoy this book more.
