Honestly I didn’t know what to expect as I think I have higher expectations than I should for this genre but I didn’t hate it! Did take me a while to get into it but I enjoyed it

This book was better than the first one. While the first book I struggled to get through this one was a little more entertaining. The writing style leaves something to be desired and while I didn't get used to it or particularly enjoy it, I was able to look past it enough in this book to enjoy the plot for what it was.

This story is dual POV following Geraldine and Caesar. They were childhood friends. Around their teenage years their friendship ended and it turned into an enemies to lovers trope. Outwardly they hate each other and put on enough of a show that everyone believes it. Caesar is constantly fighting himself to keep his distance from her. When David gets married (Geraldine's brother and Caesar's best friend) both of them become apart of the wedding party and are pushed into forced proximity. Things start to heat up and both have to face the truth of their feelings.

Geraldine was adorable. She was pretty strong and it annoyed me how much everyone treated her like a child and an outcast for things beyond her knowledge. It did get incredibly repetitive with the amount of times she had to put a smile on even though she wasn't happy. But other than that I was pretty fond of her character.

Caesar, however, was not my favorite. His need to keep his "darkness" away from Geraldine felt so stupid because, at least to me, his character didn't seem that dark. Also, he put ridiculous ideas of how to live life in his own head. His loyalty to David was admirable but to be so mean to David's sister just to keep his best friend felt counterproductive. He did redeem himself a bit when he finally admitted to himself what his feelings were.

The storyline was....interesting. I know this is fiction but some of it was just too much out of left field. The mother and her intentions for her children. She came out of no where almost 3/4 of the way of the story probably to add more conflict but the plan she had for Geraldine and her actions toward her seemed a bit extreme and unrealistic. The solution was also so swift it ended up being barely a conflict in the story.

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC!

I tried really hard to get into this book but had to DNF at about 50%.
I couldn’t get on with the writing style and found it too clunky for me. I just couldn’t connect with the characters

Arc review.

It was okay, I had a really hard time finishing this book.
I somehow could not get through it and it took some time.
I had no feelings with the characters, which makes a book hard to read for me.
I do think it could be enjoyable for some readers, so give it a shot if you are interested.
It just wasn't the book for me unfortunately.

It is a very dark book, so please check the trigger warnings before reading.

Thank you to everyone involved for the arc.

Thank you to Netgalley, the publishing house and the author for giving me the opportunity to read this book.

Once I got into it, I needed to know more. I enjoyed the perspective from both sides. I heavily enjoy the enemies to lovers theme, and I liked it even more so that it had the element of “off-limits” with the brothers bestie/childhood crushes.
If you are also into this, please dedicate a few hours and pick this up. It was such a good read!!

I couldn't put this book down if i tried, all i wanted to do was keep reading and seeing where this slow burn and all this tension was gonna get me.

I loved the friends to enemies to lovers vibe that's what i enjoy in a good book.

Dont get me wrong there was some trauma and a lot of heavy emotions but it made it more real.

I struggled with this book's pace, but once the story between the main characters got going, I was hooked and couldn't put the book down. The ending was worth pushing through. Eli Rose got me to connect with both characters in a way I don't normally do when reading a book. This may have been a slow burn, but when you reach the inevitable,e you won't want to put it down. If you love a book full of frustration and excitement, then this book is worth reading.

This book completely satisfied my craving for a good childhood friends ➡️ enemies ➡️ lovers book and finally ended my desperate search for that perfect trope 🥹📚

It had all my favorites:
- ✅ Second chance romance
- ✅ Brother’s best friend
- ✅ And yes… it was kinky (kinda embarrassed to admit how much I loved that 😳🔥)

It was dual pov which really helped with the character development and made me like and understand the MMC and the FMC.🫶

I honestly have no idea how many pages it was… all I know is I devoured it in 2 days and loved every second ⏳❤️

The descriptions were just right — not too long, not too short (I get bored easily with long descriptions 💤).

Overall: I really enjoyed this book and will definitely read the rest of the series once they’re out! 🥰📖

Thank you to NetGalley and Rose & Raven Books for sending me an ARC of this book.

I think because of the way the book was formatted when I downloaded it took me a while to get into the book. I mean, I’m a sucker for a best friends, brother romance. It’s going to do it for me every time because usually it becomes secrets and drama, and sometimes a little push and pull. This is also an enemies to lovers and a childhood best friend romance. This is book 2 in a series, but I believe you can read the second book without reading the first one because that’s what I did. I enjoyed the tension between the two main characters because it also gave like a yearning, every time they would be around each other.

Owning You Angel pulls you right into a whirlwind of emotions, with a childhood crush that turns into a fierce, complicated love story. I really liked how the author didn't rush the slow-burn tension between the characters—it made every stolen glance and heated argument feel real and earned. Watching the walls slowly come down between them was so satisfying, especially because the characters felt so raw and human. I loved reading it because it was messy in all the right ways, and it reminded me that sometimes love shows up even when you're sure you’ve given up on it.

💥 Talk about SIZZLING tension you could cut with a butter knife! I dove into Owning You Angel thinking I'd just read a chapter or two and BAM—five hours later I was still glued to the pages. 😂 Childhood crush, brother’s bestie, enemies-to-lovers fireworks...HELLO, this book had everything! If you’re into angsty feels, toe-curling chemistry, and rooting for two stubborn people who were obviously made for each other, you’re gonna love every second. 🧨💙

I tried really hard to get into this book but had to DNF at about 45%.
I couldn’t get on with the writing style and found it too clunky for me. The characters were just there and I didn’t feel like there was any dimension to them except how tortured the main two characters were. The book and premise did intrigue me and I wanted to get into it but unfortunately this one is not for me.

I received this book and provide an honest review.

Second chances, extremes in emotions and circumstance, and resolving past actions all intertwine in a tale of love, obsession, stalking, manipulation, abuse, denial, admitting the truth, and yes, extremes. The Dom becomes the Sub, but maybe they always were a bit of both.
