Give a person a warning that a book is going to be left with a huge cliffhanger. UGH! I really enjoyed reading, Ireland. I hope that the next book comes out soon while this book is fresh in my memory.

I HATE giving one star reviews…but this book couldn’t escape this sad rating.

I struggled hard with this book. While I enjoyed the series this spinoff originated from, I found this one boring. I tried to fall into the stories and characters, but my mains would wander or I would put the book down to do something else.

I didn’t believe the chemistry between Ireland and Ronan. At first it just felt like instant lust for me, but it was sort of the same thing for Eva and Gideon and I didn’t mind. I guess the love just fell flat.

The little clips of Eva and Gideon? We had a love/hate relationship. Yes, it was nice to see them again. However, I felt it took away from the story of Ireland.

I wish I had liked this book. Maybe the next one will be better.

Let me start off by saying I absolutely loved the Crossfire series. In fact, I’ve read the entire series a few times.
I could not get into Ireland’s story.
From the little we know about her from when Gideon was at his family’s house - I was expecting Ireland to be different and maybe that’s why I had a hard time connecting to these characters. I’m really not sure.
I did skip around until I finished this story, but I just didn’t care how the book ended unfortunately.

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.

This book was short and was an okay read that left you hanging at the end. Lots of family drama and deception in this book and reminds me of a soap opera episode.

It's been a long time since I have read a book by Sylvia Day. I am glad I read this one. It was really good, although the cliffhanger left me a little frustrated. But it made me look forward to reading the next one in the series which I hope comes out soon. I'm grateful that netgalley and the publishers let me read this in exchange for an honest review.

Ireland picks up 10 years following the end of the Crossfire Series and we find the title character, Ireland Vidal, working for Vidal Records, along with her father and brother. She has found a place for herself at the company and is content in her role. While her professional life is going well, the same can't be said for her love life. She tends to make less than stellar choices when it comes to the men she is attracted to.

Ireland happens to meet Ronan Boudreaux and she is attracted to him immediately. There is something magnetizing about the man and she very much wants to learn more about him. The chemistry between the two of them is a living, breathing thing and it is unable to be denied.

With both Ronan and Ireland keeping secrets from one another, it is only a matter of time before secrets are exposed. Will they be able to overcome the things that could very easily keep them apart?

I devoured this book and it reminded me why I was such a fan of the Crossfire series when it first came out. This does end on a cliffhanger, but I already know I'm ready to see how Ronan and Ireland's story plays out!

It's been a long time since I read the original Crossfire series, and I have to admit I didn't remember Ireland all that much. That being said, I enjoyed reading Ireland. The story quickly caught my attention and kept my interest - even when I had issues with Ireland's actions. Ronan was such a mystery at first and Ireland's attraction to him only added to me wanting to know more about him. I liked Ireland's toughness and push to be taken seriously within her family business. Which was why her reactions to Ronan and his secrets threw me off a bit. The drama made up for the frustrations with that. Plus, there were some great Gideon and Eva moments. The poor couple can't catch a break in a certain way. I was surprised when this book ended with a cliffhanger, but it made me want to pick up the next book ASAP. The one last comment I have for this book is that I wish it would have been in first person rather than third, but I am not a fan of third person narration in romance.

I love Sylvia Day books. This book is a good read. It tells about Gideon’s sister Ireland. She’s a third generation to control the family business Vidal Records. She then met Ronan who can offer her everything she ever wanted.

I loved all of the Crossfire Series featuring her brother Gideon and Eva. I’m glad Ireland got her own book and we get to see how her life is as an adult. It doesn’t really say but I’m assuming that this is set about 10-12 years later since she is the same age Gideon was when he married Eva. We get to met Ronan while catching up with previous characters from the other books.
This is in a third person narrative and ends on a cliffhanger. Can’t wait for book 2.
Thank you to NetGalley and Sylvia Day for graciously providing me an ARC and allowing me to share my review.

Let me preface this by saying that I'm a HUGE fan of the Crossfire series and was so so excited that Sylvia was writing a new series with Ireland Vidal, Gideon's little sister as the FMC. I absolutely adored her in the Crossfire series.

That said, this book was 2.5 stars (rounded to 3). Maybe my experience would be different had I known going in that even though it's called "Ireland" and the book description references that this is about Ireland and Ronan, this book includes a side story with Eva and Gideon. While I love Eva and Gideon, I wasn't expecting it and truly, it wasn't necessary. I feel like it took away from Ireland and Ronan's story and I would rather have had the pages that went to Eva/Gideon's side story to go towards developing our MCs and building out their characters more. There wasn't enough chemistry and at the end of the day, I didn't think there was enough there to fight for (certainly not across the country since he's based in Louisiana and given Ronan's deal) and I found myself not really caring as much as I should. I don't want to spoil anything but good lord, Ireland gave in wayyyyy to easily.

I will continue because I'm hoping things improve in story-wise in book 2 and I get that we are already on this journey where we are sharing space with our OG couple. Please beware that this book does end in a cliffhanger so if that's not your jam, you might want to circle back once it's completed.

Maybe it was just me but I had a hard time getting used to the change from the Crossfire series' first person writing to third person. There were also too many similar scenes that mirrored the original series.

Thank you to NetGalley and Sylvia Day for the opportunity to read and review.

This was a trip down memory lane. I was a fan of the Crossfire series when it came out years ago. I’ve since wandered off to a different genre and thought I’d give this a try since it was Sylvia Day. I truly enjoyed the book. Though, no longer in my wheel house, the story was captivating a heart warming. I would recommend readers begin with the first series though. Especially as the originals, as well as this book, will be easily found on my local library’s shelves.

Ireland is the first book in the Crossroads series written by Sylvia Day.

What to expect:
*Age gap
*Billionaire romance
*Cliffhanger ending

This review will include spoilers, so don’t read if you aren’t ready to hear what happens throughout the book.

This book picks up a decade after the Crossfire series ended. Eva and Gideon are featured in this title, but not the main couple. The other family members are also circling around in the book.

Ireland and Roman first meet in a club, she does not know who he is and hides her identity from him. Ronan knows all about Ireland, her family, and Vidal Records. In fact, his family is in town to demolish their recording business and destroy their family due to something happening in the past that involves the fathers of Ronan and Ireland. It isn’t explained in the book what happened in the past, more to come in the future books I guess?

The main characters are very instalust, both feeling it until the harsh truths start coming out. This book is full of secrets and lies, not only between the main couple, but also Gideon and Eva. Can we not let that couple have a few years of peace and quiet?!?!

MMC does flirt with OW at a club and take her back to his room after Ireland tries to end the relationship with Ronan. The OW tries to kiss him and he kicks her out of his room. This is all off page but he tells the FMC about it later that same night.

MMC also has a fiancé back in New Orleans?!?! He says that they aren’t engaged but everyone back home says that they are and the fiancé was naked and waiting on him when he went back for a visit with his grandmother and father. He ignores her being naked but does kind of flirt with her when he tells her about Ireland, the fiancé doesn’t seem to mind that Ronan is seeing Ireland and flirts back with him. Since the book ends on a cliffhanger I guess we will find out more about that relationship in the next book.

The book ends with Gideon on his way to confront Ronan about his plans, in the meantime Ireland finds herself in a compromising position while trying to leave a party.

The next book in the series isn’t a scheduled for release until April 2026, not sure if I will continue the series or not. It was written well, I just hate cliffhanger endings and waiting that long in between releases.

IRELAND BY SYLVIA DAY
Many years ago I read and reread and reread the CrossFire saga series and it holds a very special place in my heart. I will always go back and reread these series forever.
Gideon cross was and is one of my very first book boyfriends that I fell in love with his and Eva's story.
So when I come across IRELAND I was ecstatic as it is book 1 of 2 of a brand new spin off series following Ireland, Gideon cross's sister.

Wow! It’s been so long since I read about the Crosssfire series; it’s good to be back in that world created. If you haven’t read that series, there may be spoilers..so you’ve been warned. Also to note, the Crossfire series was five books, so you can pretty much bank that the Crossroads series will end on a cliffhanger. (You either love them or you hate them)

Let’s dive in..

Ireland works in her family’s business, Vidal Records, alongside her brother Chris Jr and ran by their father, Chris Sr. ***Look away*** In Crossfire, Gideon had helped revive Vidal Records before handing it over to them to run. So none of them try to involve him, which is fine..as he has a ton of other things to deal or worry over. Ireland meets Ronan one night while at Vidal Hotels. He’s playing the trumpet and she is mesmerized. She is in the music business after all. But, playing the trumpet is actually just a hobby for Ronan, as he also works for family business. Ronan, and his siblings, Jules and Claudette, are in NY to buy out a failing business and dismantle it.

If you read the Crossfire series, you remember Gideon and Eva. Ireland is Gideon’s sister so if you’ve missed Gideon and Eva, you’ll get an update on how they have been doing. If you’re thinking, aww, sweet update about a HEA and life has been perfect like most updates?, you would be wrong. We actually get some chapters from quite a few pov, and the drama continues for everyone.

Ireland starts to notice that something has been off with her father. She looks through some paperwork to see he has a meeting soon with McCaffrey. Meanwhile, her mom is about to remarry and fast forward over some logistics, she wants to get rid of the stock she has in her ex’s company, Vidal Records. So she wants Ireland to buy them, giving her a bigger stake in the company. This serves for many reasons. As Ireland and Ronan spend more time together, they can’t hide the attraction they have for one another. After they spend some intimate time, Ireland remembers the meeting her father will be attending. Wanting more answers, she rushes off to work. When she looks into the conference room, she sees her father with 2 familiar faces, Jules and Claudette. As she turns, she sees Ronan..and when she looks at his name tag…Ronan McCaffrey.

Yes…so good. But this is just the beginning. We read about Ireland Vidal and her family, plus Ronan and his family, and don’t forget Gideon and Eva. All have a story to tell and all have issues and conflicts to overcome. This is definitely a rollercoaster you want to jump on. Thank you #Netgalley and #Rōnin House.

We pick up the story of this family over a decade after the end of the Crossfire series. Ireland is working for Vidal Records and doing well for herself, except in the department of love. Then she happens to met a magnetising man who she hits it off with from the jump. Ronan Boudreaux is everything she is looking for in a man and their attraction is irresistible.

Both of them are keeping secrets from each other and when it all comes to a head will the connection they built be able to overcome the factors pushing them apart.

This had all the pieces of what makes me such a fan of the Crossfire series. It has the sex appeal, the intrigue, and the drama. This ends on a cliff hanger and I cannot what for the continuation of this series.

Ireland was a fantastic story, and I loved it even more because not only did it give me Ireland and Roman's story, but it gave me more of Gideon and Eva characters that I fell in love with from the Crossfire Series. I don't want to give too much away because I think romance readers will enjoy this story as Ireland and Ronan's story is captivating, intriguing, full of desire, steamy scenes, half-truths that bring forth both surprising and devastating realizations, revenge, regret and so much more. It ends with a cliffhanger that left me desperately wanting the next book to find out what happens next and I'm a little disappointed to find out that it doesn't come out until next year. However, I can't wait to read more of Ireland and Ronan's story when it's released.
