Cosmic Censorship is a story still finding its footing and does not live up to the expectations set up in the blurb in this first volume.
We meet Maki Makino during her run to school, where she meets and ends up racing against a mysterious man. Danger quickly follows and it is revealed she's been destined to die for some time, but her death continues to be intervened by a force unknown to her. We meet a few members of Cosmic Censorship who are intriguing upon first meeting. The fanservice in this manga is minimal but still feels out of place in this kind of story.
The narrative threads are pretty weak right now but definitely has potential to growth and strengthen in upcoming volumes. The storytelling suffers because of the chapter length - they're shorter than those of other manga in this genre currently published. This gives the volume a faster pace, but there isn't enough story progression during these chapters, so it doesn't feel like very much is happening. I think if the "world-altering" aspects of Cosmic Censorship's (and specifically Roger's) actions are given the spotlight in upcoming volumes it'll help to keep the reader invested in the story.
The anti-piracy image over the pages was very distracting and made the reading experience very difficult. The artwork should be valued as much as the written words in manga, if not more so. It was hard to fully engage with the artwork because of this. (This has not impacted my rating).

An apocalyptic story of the earth under alien attack, not that people know it. Meteors strike earth regularly, destructing everything. Maki Makino is a high school student in Tokyo. When she was a child, she was injured in a meteor strike. She was saved by a stranger.
A decade later, she runs into same man, who has barely aged. He saves her again, but in the process, she accidentally gets something of his. As she tries to locate him to return it, she’s attacked by a monster. And saved by the same man again.
He tells her his name is Roger, he’s from the future, and his job is to make sure the humanity survives. Because the meteors aren’t meteors, they’re a way for aliens to reach earth. And Maki has to survive. Problem is, other people from the future don’t want her to.
This was a good, fast-paced start to a series. The art made it a bit confusing at times, but all in all, it was interesting. The ending is a cliff-hanger, so I need to read more.

Honestly loved this comic apocalyptic lovey dovey story.
The art was cool, it captured me from the beginning and I'm intrigued for more!

I can see that this will be popular but this just wasn’t my thing. Girl being followed by people who all seem to be fighting over protecting her? That’s all I really got as most of the scenes looked similar to me.

Fantasy/Sci-fi comic. Maki finds herself in the middle of a time travel and alien invasion conspiracy. Those that seem to be there to help keep her safe are maybe not to be trusted. I liked much of the artwork. But the story line was difficult to follow, at least as more characters are introduced. Like many comic series, I think it would be helpful to read more volumes so that more of the story line becomes clear. Thank you to Titan Books and NetGalley for the comic ARC. This was such a fun and entertaining manga to read and a fantastic start to a series. I loved the ‘vibes’ that give Neon Genesis Evangelion but a unique spin. The main character was so fun and I loved Maki and how she acts, finding herself thrown into the midst of alien invasions and powerful warriors. The art is beautiful and works so well with the setting and plot. I really enjoyed the pacing and introduction but now I am left waiting for volume 2 to come out (already pre-ordered) and can’t wait to see what happens next.

I can't wait for the next one!
The art was amazing and the story is interesting.
It did get a tad confusing but that's to be expected for a first volume.
