What starts as a fake fiancee request soon ends up with playboy Micah falling, deeply, utterly in love with his fake partner in crime Carly. Carlys family is messy, uncouth and not very well off, that makes her emotionally shut off, so she's a perfect candidate as a fake fiancee. Except as she spends more time with Micah, the layers are peeled back to reveal a gorgeous man in & out. Add in a mistake pregnancy and the romance gets real.
A lot of witty banter and sizzling attraction, made this a good read.

Thank you to Netgalley and Independently Published for an early copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I loved this book and read it in one day. It did have more spice than what I like, but still enjoyed the book. I loved the storyline and the characters. I would still recommend this book.

I thoroughly enjoyed this smalltown fake relationship romantic suspense with its added reformed playboy, class disparity, surprise pregnancy tropes and a bit of "Pretty Woman" vibes. The plot is very well written and filled with emotion, humor, danger, mystery and lots of steam.
The characters are very likable. Micah seems immature, superficial and pleasure-seeking at first, but as the story progresses you get to know his depths. Carly is a no-nonsense girl who, because of her insecurities and loyalty to her eccentric family, feels like a misfit and fears rejection. I loved their witty banter and the sizzling chemistry between them.
I hadn't read the previous book, but the story often picks up on events from the first installment that affect this plot, but have no bearing on this love story. You also meet the characters from the previous book again. The book can be read as a standalone, but I still recommend reading the series in order.
Playboy and billionaire's son Micah Landing wants to sell his shares of the Pink Hotel, leave the boring small town of Laketown behind and set up his own business, but the deal is boycotted by his father. When he turns to his grandfather for help, his grandfather expects him to marry properly soon. There is only one thing to do: he needs a fake fiancée and his choice falls on Carly Huntley, with whom he had a hot one-night stand at the masked ball at the hotel.
From an early age, Carly has felt like an outsider who is despised or pitied by the residents because of her messy family. To avoid being hurt, she never lets anyone get too close to her and never has long-term relationships, only the occasional hook-up. She wants to finish her studies and continue to support her family, but when she is in danger of losing her scholarship, Micah's offer to play his girlfriend and get a lot of money in return comes in handy…
If you like gripping romantic suspense novels with LOL and poignant moments, action, danger, lovable smalltown communities and lots of spice, you are sure to enjoy this book!
I received a free ARC of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own and left voluntarily.

This book had my attention from the very beginning! I loved that it was a romance suspense. This book had some of my favorite tropes in it!
•touch her and die
•billionaire
•unexpected pregnancy (well done)
•found family
•fake engagement
I really thought the mmc (Micah) really matured throughout the book. I really enjoyed seeing the relationship grow from a fake engagement to an actual relationship.
Overall I really enjoyed this book!

A great kind of eccentric mafia romance story that had a fun couple and some crazy twists that had me laughing out loud.

Micah and Carly meet at a masked ball (though they had met before). He didn't know who she was until her mask was off. Their chemistry as HOT!. He eventually talked her into pretending to be his fiance for money, but that backfired a little. His dad and grandfather didn't make his life any easier, but he just wanted to make his own way. Their was lots of hot sex, drama with her family, a couple brawls, some funny moments with the seniors in town and a new business beginning. Little by little, he realized he wasn't the playboy anymore, but was in love. It really shocked him. Carly loved him too, but it took a kidnapping for them to admit it to each other..
I got this book from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review

I love an unexpected baby trope, and I love a fake fiance trope as well. This book had me hooked from the beginning, I really enjoyed it.

Im so sucker for an unexpected baby especially when it so well written. I truly enjoyed every second of it. Carly is a nonsense girl, and I loved Mr. Rich MMC. Who needs reality tv this book had me invested. Highly recommended to the girls looking for a rich, fake fiancé, surprise pregnancy.

Always Knew It Was You is the kind of spicy romantic suspense that reels you in fast and keeps you flipping pages with all its twists, heat, and humor. What starts as a fake relationship quickly turns into something real, messy, and utterly addictive, especially as Carly and the narrator’s emotional baggage starts to unravel. I really liked how the author balanced snarky banter with deeper themes—plus, the tension was chef’s kiss. It was dramatic in the best way, and I couldn’t stop reading.

Fake fiancée? Check. Unexpected baby? Double check. Hot mess of feelings I wasn’t ready for but loved every second of? ABSOLUTELY. 🔥 Carly is a boss babe with zero time for nonsense, and I lived for every flirty, messy, heart-clutching moment she shared with Mr. Rich-and-Rebellious. This book had me screaming at my Kindle like I was watching reality TV—but, like, with actual chemistry and swoon. Someone hold my mimosa, I need a re-read. 🥂💖📱

Faking It Never Felt So Real!
Always Knew It Was You is a spicy, sassy, fake-fiancée romance with heart, heat, and enough emotional whiplash to leave your Kindle smoking—and yes, I devoured it in one sitting with no regrets.
